The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride -
Chapter 187: City Of Sakaris
Chapter 187: City Of Sakaris
Elliot’s body had turned completely cold, his hands and feet were numb as the death engulfed him slowly. While Izaak had sent his family to the other chamber, he remained with Alaric in the sane chamber to keep an eye on Elliot.
"Why Magnus hasn’t returned yet? Wasn’t he supposed to be here?" Izaak looked toward the door.
"I think he has had a long conversation with Father," Alaric proclaimed.
"I wonder what Father has to say to him," Izaak murmured.
On the bed, Elliot’s entire body was replaced with the new vampiric blood, his skin turning paler, his lips turning red. The deep wound on his neck had almost healed, his fingers and eyeballs showed movements.
Both the princes noticed the rapid changes happening in Elliot’s body and knew Elliot would wake up any time.
The fresh blood for him was already brought by Zerah with a maidservant’s help. He asked the maidservant to keep the jar and the cup on the table before they left the chamber.
Finally, Magnus entered and asked Elliot’s condition.
"The transformation has begun," Izaak said, noticing Magnus’s gloomy expression. "Why do you look so down?"
"We couldn’t find any leads on the recent attacks, could we?" Magnus asked with a menace and frustrating tone.
"No, we couldn’t," Izaak admitted, the weight of their failure hanging heavily between them.
"Elliot could have died today if you hadn’t been on the same route. The attacker deliberately chose such an isolated location to ensure Elliot’s demise," Magnus added, his eyebrows knitting together in concern.
"I know. However, why did someone target Elliot? It’s ridiculous," Izaak muttered. He tried reading Magnus’s mind and wondered if it was because of Alora.
Magnus pinched the skin between his brows, feeling annoyed.
"Let’s wait for Elliot to wake up. He may tell us everything," Alaric suggested, telling Magnus not to take too much stress.
Magnus lowered his hands and glanced at the door as Alora walked in. "I thought to check on my brother once. Is he fine?" she queried with a fearful expression in her eyes.
"Well, he will awake anytime," Izaak told her and asked her to leave.
Elliot by then had opened his eyes. His pupils had changed the colors and sensing the presence of the human blood, he felt famished. He wanted to drink the human blood instantly, not realizing it was the fragrance of his own sister’s blood. Elliot threw away the blanket and he lunged toward Alora in his vampiric speed, his mind only occupied with the thoughts of fresh blood.
"Ahh!" Alora screamed as she stumbled and fell to the floor when Magnus stepped between her and Elliot. In an instant, Elliot was pinned to the wall, far from Alora.
"Let me go!" Elliot shrieked, his fangs lengthening as he grew frantic from his thirst for blood.
Alaric helped Alora to her feet, concern etched on his face as he asked if she was okay. Alora’s eyes were wide with fear, unable to tear her gaze away from her brother. He was in a frenzied state, completely out of control.
"Please get her out of here," Magnus urged Alaric, who immediately escorted Alora from the scene without hesitation.
Magnus then turned to Elliot, grabbing his cheeks firmly and forcing him to meet his gaze. "Calm down, Elliot Wilson!" he commanded, his voice steady and authoritative. His pupils changed shape slightly, and the next moment, Elliot got calmer.
Izaak had poured the blood in a cup for Elliot and forwarded it to him. "Have a drink to quench your thirst," Izaak said.
Elliot looked down at the cup while Magnus left his hold on him.
"Blood," Elliot murmured. He took the cup from the prince and chugged down its contents. The cup fell from his hand as he realized what he had just drank.
"What happened to me?" Elliot asked, his voice trembling as he looked into Magnus’s eyes.
"You are now a vampire. It was necessary to save your life," Magnus affirmed.
"No, I—I cannot be a vampire," Elliot stammered, staring in horror at his pale hands.
"You were going to die, Elliot. Your family wanted us to transform you to see you alive," Magnus asserted, taking a step back to give him space.
"So, who attacked you?" Magnus asked him finally. "You went to see a woman. How did you end up on an isolated route?"
"I think someone pranked me, Your Highness. Regina never sent that letter to me. I waited for her in that place for hours. By the evening, I was confirmed that someone had been playing with my emotions. Since the rain got heavier, I had to walk to the town center and in the middle I was attacked by a vampire. I don’t know how I reached an isolated route you are talking about," Elliot affirmed. "But I knew my body was dying slowly."
Magnus read Elliot’s thoughts and saw the vampire who had attacked him.
"I think this vampire abandoned Elliot on that isolated road out of fear," Izaak speculated, glancing at his brother.
"We will find out once we catch him," Magnus said, deciding to create a sketch of the vampire.
"Well, I feel strange. I feel hungry again," Elliot said, sniffing the air before moving to the table. He grabbed a jar and began from it. His demeanor had changed; the fear that once gripped him had vanished, replaced by an unsettling sense of happiness and confidence.
"Your brother-in-law is going to give us a headache. I think, he has to be sent to the training academy, where the newbie vampires are sent," Izaak stated. The two brothers were not surprised how he finished the whole jar of fresh blood.
Elliot smiled while gazing at them.
"You almost attacked Alora. Now, you have to stay away from your family. You can’t control your thirst, and to gain control, you need to be trained," Magnus explained firmly. "Tonight will be the last time you’ll see your family until you learn to manage your blood thirst around humans. Do you understand?" Magnus inquired, his eyes locking onto Elliot’s.
Elliot was slightly upset to know that he attacked Alora earlier. "I understand, Your Highness. For how long I can’t see my family after tonight?" He asked.
"It depends. You may learn control in a month or it may take you several months," Izaak answered. "It’s up to you how fast you wish to return because the training academy is present in another famous city of Sakaris!"
