The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride
Chapter 177: Sacrifice yourself for Ember

Chapter 177: Sacrifice yourself for Ember

Outside the Witch’s House:

"It’s my first time coming outside. Gladly, the rain has stopped," Lillian stated, glancing at her gloved hands. "Alora, hopefully, we get a positive result here," she asserted.

Magnus shot Lillian a sharp glare, silently urging her to keep quiet.

"I believe we will definitely get a positive outcome," Alora said, letting out a smile.

The witch, Dolores Kiseleva, felt the presence of the vampires and looked outside from the window of her room. She furrowed her brows together and went downstairs after the servant informed her about the vampires’ presence.

Izaak was the first one to step ahead to knock on the door when it opened on its own.

"What are the vampires doing at my door?" Dolores asked, her tone filled with disdain toward them. After the loss of her only daughter, she wanted their extinction completely.

Amidst those energies, she sensed the purest one and glanced in that direction. The blue eyes of Alora enchanted Dolores for a moment, making her feel strange with her aura.

"Will you not invite us inside, Dolores?" asked Izaak, bringing her attention back to him.

"The vampires aren’t welcome in my home," Dolores retorted, beginning to shut the door when Alora swiftly intervened.

"I’m a human, Lady Dolores," Alora stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Please spare us a minute to talk with you," she requested earnestly. "I am Alora Lukeson, the wife of Prince Magnus."

Dolores was a bit surprised to hear that name. And when Alora told her that she was Magnus’s wife, she got bewildered. Didn’t Alora use to wear a blindfold? How could she gaze into her eyes?

"Her eyes were wrongly interpreted by everyone. They are a protector for her," Magnus stated as he read her thoughts.

"We are here to talk about what happened with your daughter, Dolores. If you aren’t comfortable welcoming us inside, we welcome your decision. Just send a message when you’ll be ready to talk to us," Izaak briefly brought the matter to the light for which they all had come traveling a long distance.

"I don’t think I ever need to talk to the vampires. The truth is that I hate them from the bottom of my heart. So, please return, Your Highnesses," Dolores said, refusing to have any kind of conversation with them.

Both Magnus and Izaak with the way Dolores was speaking. They felt like showing her their might, but then they were here not to create any scene.

"It’s about a woman’s life, Lady Dolores," Alaric finally spoke up. "I understand what happened with your daughter was an unforgivable act. However, if Caden dies not only a wife will turn into a widow but the kids will become fatherless," he stated with pleading eyes.

"Yes, Lady Dolores. Please give us a chance to explain ourselves," Alora opined.

"I don’t care, Prince Alaric, whether someone turns a widow or children grow up without a father. My daughter was the only precious person I had in my life. It’s ridiculous to see all the royal princes and princesses coming here to save one of their own, neglecting the sorrow of a mother," Dolores harshly remarked.

Magnus felt a surge of irritation and glanced at Izaak and Lillian, who seemed to share his thoughts. They all considered leaving, realizing that their presence might be more of a provocation than a comfort to Dolores.

The door was shut the next second, leaving Alora and Alaric feeling both upset and frustrated.

"We should leave. Such disrespect from a witch makes me angry," Magnus muttered, his voice tight with irritation. He reached for Alora’s hand, ready to lead her back to the carriage.

"Wait," Alora said, gently pulling her hand free and stepping back to the door. She knocked firmly, determined not to let the conversation end like this.

"Are you serious, Alora? Did you not see how we are humiliated?" Lillian scolded her.

"Lady Dolores, please talk to me once. Just once. You are a mother and you understand well how important a parent is for a child. Please don’t do this," Alora requested while speaking loudly.

"Alora, don’t waste your energy. We should go back," Magnus insisted.

"We can’t leave now. I’m sorry, but we need to make Lady Dolores believe we will bring her justice as well," Alora replied resolutely.

"Alora, you never acted so stubbornly," Magnus stated. He didn’t wish to hurt her by dragging her away.

Alora again turned to the door and kept speaking to Dolores, who was on the other side of the door.

"Lady Dolores, what’s the fault of the kids in this or the wife, who is watching her husband dying slowly? Please don’t be heartless. Let’s find a way to bring true justice," Alora stated.

Alaric, for a moment, thought that he should take the curse on him. Magnus was quick to read his mind and furrowed his brows together. He couldn’t believe Alaric was so crazy for Ember that he could even die for her.

"You won’t do that," Magnus said, looking at Alaric.

The others looked at the two brothers, wondering why Magnus said that to Alaric. The sky thundered ready for another impending rain shower.

I won’t let you sacrifice yourself for Ember. Keep that in mind," Magnus asserted firmly.

"We all are leaving. It’s my order," Izaak finally intervened. "Alora, you too. If you don’t listen to me, I have to order a punishment for you," he proclaimed and pivoted to go ahead.

Lillian followed her brother while Magnus told Alora and Alaric not to be adamant about something, which couldn’t be resolved.

"Let’s go," Alaric said, casting a determined glance at Alora before leading the way.

"I thought Lady Dolores would understand, being a woman," Alora murmured softly.

"She’s in an aggrieved state. Let’s not press her to converse with us when she has already refused," Magnus explained gently to his wife. Alora lowered her head, exhaling heavily, before turning back with Magnus towards the carriage they arrived in.
