Chapter 145: Did you call my wife impure?
Lillian’s friends came to the palace to see Alora and greeted her. The three of them were scared at first to meet her eyes, but when Lillian told them not to feel anxious. Trusting the princess’ words, the three of them met Alora’s gaze and couldn’t stop themselves from complimenting her beautiful eyes.
"I am Irene Anderson, Your Highness. I’m the daughter of the Chancellor, Sebastian Anderson. It is a pleasure to meet you," she introduced herself with a formal bow.
"I’m Ophelia Larsen. I am the daughter of Count Matthias Larsen," she humbly said with a bow.
"I am Harriett Wallace, Your Highness. My father is the 7th Head member of the Vampire Council," she stated and curtsied her.
As the three of them were introduced to Alora, she realized all of the three belonged to pure-blooded vampire families. Magnus had explained to her that the noble vampires’ hatred for humans was even more than the royals. Now, she wondered if Lillian’s friends wanted to befriend her or if they just wanted to do formality since she was the wife of Prince Magnus.
"Alora, do you take the wine? Because we will drink that," Lillian said.
"I will take only a little," Alora responded. Lillian gestured to the servant to fill the glasses for them. Alora asked to fill only half for her since she wasn’t used to all this.
"Princess Alora, I heard that your sister was married to a werewolf. I also heard that she wanted to seduce your husband," Irene opened the conversation in a weird way, which almost caused Alora’s eyes to widen in shock.
"What? That’s not true. My sister never wanted to do such a thing," Alora clarified. She didn’t like the fact that such strange rumors were circulated among the people, not the humans, but the vampires.
"Forgive me for my tongue then. I hope Princess Alora doesn’t mind me," Irene asserted, holding the cup in her hand to drink the wine.
"I don’t mind," Alora said.
"Venus isn’t like her sister. While she is selfish, Alora is kind," Lillian chimed in.
Though she wasn’t wrong, Alora did feel bad about how her sister’s image was being tarnished by them. She knew Venus made many mistakes, one after the other, but as an elder sister, Alora couldn’t bear to hear anything against her.
"I think Princess Alora should have let Venus get punished to death," Ophelia said this time.
"We all make mistakes," Alora said. "What my sister did was truly wrong, but I couldn’t give a harsh punishment to her. Even a vampire tried to kill him by using a werewolf, however, I didn’t let Prince Magnus punish him either. None of you spoke about it with me or it seems the vampires don’t wish to show their mistakes," she remarked.
The four of them turned quiet at Alora’s words. Lillian realized that Alora got hurt, which she didn’t desire, so she told her friends not to speak about Alora’s family.
"We didn’t intend to hurt Her Highness," said Harriett. "Please forgive us," she apologized to her.
Alora hummed and held the cup, taking a sip of the wine.

"A human in the council?" William, the Elder, asked while arching his eyebrow. "Your Majesty, I understand that a human became a part of the royal family, however, the vampire council has a purpose to keep only our kind in it. A human’s entry in the council can’t be allowed," William objected to Alora’s entry into the council.
Along with him the other 3 elders and the remaining 16 members suggested the same to King Esmond.
"The Vampire Council may require Alora’s exceptional skill. When all the vampires failed to save Izaak, Alora did that. I have given her my word that she would become a part of the council. Moreover, in the future, Alora will be a Vampire," King Esmond tried convincing the members to let Alora join it.
Magnus glanced at his father, frowning at his last statement. However, he remained quiet, not wanting to argue about it in front of the members.
"Then, we can let Princess Alora enter after she turns into a vampire," pronounced Nathan, one of the council members.
"I think the Council Members have impaired hearing. His Majesty mentioned that Alora was given his words and she is the only exception, who will be in the Vampire Council as a human. Also, the Council isn’t working in the right way. A vampire killed a human’s family, then we were attacked on our way back to Velaris and lastly, my brother was injured," Magnus explained. It annoyed him that such oldies were the council members, who didn’t wish to change anything in the Council at all.
"Prince Magnus impure his family’s bloodline by marrying a human. He adamantly brought a human to the palace. Sadly, we members will never allow a human’s presence in the Council," William affirmed. He knew even the King couldn’t speak in front of his decision related to the Council.
"Did you call my wife impure?" Magnus’s expressions darkened and he fisted his palm.
"My humble apologies, but that’s the word we use for humans if they get married to a pure-blooded vampire," William remarked.
King Esmond didn’t want Magnus to lose his temper there, so he finally intervened. "William and other members of the Council, let’s not argue over what Alora is. The Vampire Council is directly responsible to the King. And as the King, you all should let Alora be a part of the Council," Esmond used his authority finally.
"I think, Princess Alora’s presence in the Council will truly benefit us. Moreover, she is now a part of the royal family, so Her Highness’ identity as a human should be ignored. Princess Alora is an exceptional woman with special abilities," said the second elder, Bernard, this time.
William’s argument fell weaker as the members finally agreed to let Alora be a part of the Vampire Council, but the condition was that she would be the only human there.
"Absolutely. I appreciate you all including Alora in the Council. Since it was the last topic of discussion, the meeting is now over," King Esmond asserted and was the first to leave the hall, followed by the elders.
