Chapter 123: What my mother-in-law started

As soon as Norman was informed about Alora’s and Magnus’s arrival, he left the breakfast in the middle. "I should see them," Norman said, informing his wife.

"I’ll accompany Father," said Elliot as he also left breakfast in the middle.

Rhea told Norman to be gentle with Alora. "Last time she was too upset with you. But I know her. She won’t refuse to help you," she asserted, keeping her trust in Alora.

Norman hummed as he sipped water before leaving with Elliot for the palace.

As Rhea watched her husband and son leave, she prayed internally to turn everything right.

Tobias found it amusing as he knew Norman wasn’t there to see Alora but to regain his lost position and save his daughter from the punishment.

"Pardon me, Norman. However, Prince Magnus is recuperating after getting injured during his return," Tobias explained to him, exposing the reason why Magnus didn’t wish to see Norman.

"Prince Magnus got injured!?" Elliot looked surprised. "Why don’t you let us meet Alora? She must want her family to be by her side at this time," he said cleverly.

Tobias looked at him this time. "Forgive me, but they both aren’t entertaining any guests today. As far as I remember, Princess Alora is no longer associated with any of you, except for her mother. "Eh... Yes, Your Highness. However, we got to learn that Prince Magnus got injured on his way here. I hope he is well," Norman said, expressing his concern.

"Your dear daughter caused the injury to my dear brother," Lillian commented, bringing confused expressions to their faces. She gazed at Elliot, who seemed to stare at her for a minute. "Keep your eyes down," she firmly said while smiling.

Elliot did that promptly, apologizing to her.

"Follow me. I’ll take you to my brother’s chamber," Lillian said and turned around. The grin widened across her lips since Alora would get a surprise visit from the people, she didn’t wish to see.

Norman and Elliot readily followed the princess. Finally, they were outside the chamber, where Magnus and Alora were present.

The servants gave her a way in. Norman thanked his stars today for being on his side. They stopped in the drawing room when Lillian told the two of them to take seats on the sofa. Selvina was slightly worried to see them.

"Your Highness, they weren’t supposed to be here," Selvina said.

"Call my brother and sister-in-law," Lillian commander her while sitting on the sofa chair.

Magnus, who already realized the presence of two humans, heard the door being knocked. Alora, who was engrossed in writing her journal, told Selvina to come in.

The door opened and Selvina informed them about the visit of Norman and his son.

Alora was confused and pondered why would they even come to see her. Magnus ordered Selvina to leave and got down from the bed.

"They must be here to beg," Magnus muttered with annoyance, "Lillian, I’m going to kill you." His jaw tightened and he clenched his fists.
