Chapter 90: Bypass surgery

Rebecca hugged her tight with her tears spilling uncontrollably, "I missed you so much mom, so much, please stop saying you are going to leave me mom."

Rose stood up and went to where Grandpa Huang was and took the old man’s hand surprising him.

She gave him a small smile and led him to the sofa.

She went to where her mother and grandmother were and separated the two crying women, took their hands and led them to the same sofa.

She made her mother sit in between her grandparents.

Rebecca turned to Grandpa Huang and gave him a similar tight hug.

"Stop apologizing dad,I have forgiven you my dear father."

Grandma Huang couldn’t sit still and joined the hug, all three crying, making the other members in the room stare at them, their eyes stinging with tears.

"But mom, dad.. Emily is no more..."

Her one statement made the two elders freeze in place.

"Wha...what do you mean Becky... tell mom your tricking us, right Becky... right?"

Grandma Huang voice got smaller and less confident as she spoke looking at her daughter, waiting for her to say no but Rebecca just looked at her.

"My sister was brutally murdered and we do not know the reason although we.... MOM!"

"LINA!"

Both Grandpa Huang and Rebecca shouted in unison as they saw Grandma Huang collapse from shock.

Jane was the first one to react as she shouted,

"Get the car ready Ryan, we are heading to your hospital now!"

Ryan immediately ran and started the car as the others carried grandma Huang.

The old man felt like his soul was about to leave his body when he saw his wife in that situation because only he knew the medical conditions Lina had.

They arrived at the hospital and since everything happened unexpectedly, Ryan had to pull Mary along with him incase he needed some assistance.

The whole family was present as they had tensed faces.

Her pulse could be felt from a far, worsening the situation. The old man tried pulling himself together but he couldn’t. Rose had to rub his hands a little bit to reassure him.

Because of her complete faint pulse, a bypass surgery had to be immediately performed to deal with the blocked arteries and provide a new passage way for blood flow.

She was immediately wheeled to the emergency surgery room as Rebecca couldn’t help but tearing up seeing her mother in such a situation.

Jane went up to her and hugged her, rubbing her back gently.

Since the surgery was to take around three to six hours, Jane urged her grandparents and parents to go home and rest while she ordered a comfortable room for grandpa Huang to specifically stay in, afterall, he was too old to sit for three to six hours straight in the cold.

The confused old man just nodded as he was led to a cosy room, exactly opposite the surgery room so that the man can watch from the window and go out once the red light turns off.

Jane made sure the rest of them went to the same room and made her aunt seat ,everyone wearing stressed and tensed faces.

Rebecca kept looking at the operating room as tears left her eyes. She did not want to lose her mom. They just reunited today after more than a decade of not seeing each other! She wanted to be spoilt and loved, despite her age, exactly the same way she spoils Rose.

She stopped thinking when she felt a hand wipe her tears. She looked up only to meet Nicole’s gentle eyes.

"Do not cry auntie, grandma will be okay, we are in this together..."

Rebecca nodded in a thankful manner as she hugged her,

"I love her Nicole, she insulted me alot in the past but my love for her is exceptional. I love my parents so much and I want to see both of them live to see your success my girl."

"All will be well auntie." She told her aunt who had stopped crying and nodded her head with hope.

Rose made grandpa Huang lay down after a long struggle. The man was stubborn but she won at the end.

"Grandpa, look at you, you are not young again, the surgery will take long, you need to relax your mind. The rest of us are here, we will wake you up immediately grandma comes out of the surgery room.

He thought for long and finally agreed, but he could try sitting and throw an eye at the operating room, who lights were still red.
