Chapter 89: We are sorry...
Monday, the long awaited day for the Huang elders finally came. They were excited and nervous at the same time as they boarded their private jet to country X.
They set out in the afternoon and were probably going to arrive in the evening.
It so happened that on this same day, members of the Lu family, inclusive Nicole were planning to have a meal together at the mansion.
At exactly 6:00pm, The Huang private jet landed in the city, the two elders being more anxious than they were before they set out for Country X.
Their car was waiting for them and immediately they landed, the car was driven to the Lu mansion.
"I am so nervous Peter...." Grandma Huang couldn’t help but hold her husband’s hand tightly.
Grandpa Huang stared at his wife but did not say a thing. He knew that whenever his wife called him by his first nane, things are not good.
He was equally nervous but he did not want to show it so as to support his wife.
In minutes, the car arrived mansion. Their identities were too special for the guards to stop them so they were granted passage.
By now Grandma Huang’s hands were sweating and one could clearly detect nervousness from her.
Since the guards let them in, they naturally informed the butler about them.
The butler rushed to the living room, where surprisingly all members were present and whispered something to Grandma Lu’s ears.
The woman widened her eyes in shock and whispered the same thing to her husband.
The man thought for a while before nodding his head.
The elders got down from the car and took deep breaths before following the butler.
The first person who their eyes came into contact with was Rebecca.
"Becky..."
Grandma Huang whispered her eyes teary as she looked at her daughter.
Rebecca who was happily seeping her tea heard a voice she recognized and a voice she has not heard for years stiffened and the tea cup fell, breaking into pieces.
She turned and before here stood the people she ran away from years back, the people who made her crave parental love every single day but couldn’t get one.
"Mom... dad..." Her eyes teared up but suddenly she stopped approaching them and gave them a cold look,
"What are you two doing here? Are you perherps here to force me into another marriage?"
By now, the whole family had turned to look at them.
Grandpa Huang wanted to approach her but Rebecca raised her hand indicating him to stop.
The man stopped but still looking at his daughter, he spoke up,
"We have not been good parents to you and Emily, our selfishness made you run away from us, our selfishness denied you parental love and care."
"We tried looking for you everywhere Becky but you girls were just too bright for us to find you, even with our influence, not until we saw you on that party last Saturday."
"Becky, we wronged you as your parents and trust me, since you left, we have been living with regrets, we know you probably won’t forgive us but we are here to try and ask for your forgiveness, you can beat us, spit on us but please forgive us our dear child... please, we were wrong, we accept our wrongdoings, any punishment you have for us, we will gladly accept it but please Becky, do not shut us out... please...."
By now, Grandpa Huang was shedding his tears and the old man could not bother hiding them.
Rebecca’s eyes were still cold but she could not hide the softness that was in them and her tears that were threatening to fall.
Before she could even say anything, Grandma Huang did something that amazed the everyone.
She went forward and before Rebecca, went on her knees and bowed, touching her daughter’s shoes. Her voice clearly echoed in the place despite her position.
"My daughter, different people have made bad and painful choices in life but your mother and father here, made the worst mistake. We hurt our precious daughters and we really really regret it Becky. I have only knelt to worship Heavens but today I am kneeling before you my darling daughter, I am pouring out everything in my heart, we ask for your forgiveness Becky.."
"Look at us my girl, we are completely old compared to how you left us years back... our time in this universe is almost up but we do not want to die with regrets my girl, grant your parents the chance to die with smiles on their faces, even if they will be bitter smiles, at least we have had the chance to see you, please forgive us Becky...w... we.. "
She could not even complete her speech because her tears were complety choking her and her nose running endlessly.
Her words not only hit Rebecca but everyone else to a point Rose and Nicole were unknowingly shedding tears.
"Becky...we miss you... we miss Emily... we are sorry our darlings..."
Rebecca could not take it anymore seeing her mother in that state. She immediately went down on her knees and pulled her for a tight hug, "Please stop it mom, you are not going anywhere...please stop begging mom."
Despite the fact that her parents wronged her, she never even considered revenging, she never went back to seek them because she was afraid they might force her into something else, they never believed her but it is ok, she forgave them and right now Rebecca could not let her mother speak about death. She is a grown woman but she craved and still craves for her parents love so much and no past mistakes were going to make her not forgive or hate her parents. She loves them and has really missed the hug she is in right now...
