Chapter 88: Ask for their forgiveness

In the northern part of the capital city of country B stood a huge, luxurious mansion that seemed to be around 1.8acres.

The mansion had beautiful and well trimmed trees on either sides of the pavement. One could see a beautiful formal garden as they drove in.

Inside the living room, sat an old couple who were both shading tears uncontrollably.

"Our daughter, we have found her old man, how can I even ask our Rebecca for forgiveness?"

The old woman was trying to suppress her tears but it was difficult for her to. The old man looked at his wife, tears also running down his cheeks.

"I really don’t know wife, I don’t even think she will ever forgive us, we chased our own daughters away because of our selfishness, they can never forgive us..."

The two elders were Old Mr Huang and Old Mrs Huang. They are Rebecca’s biological parents.

Since Chloe Cosmetics is also known in country B, one of the maids who was following the broadcast happened to spot Rebecca on the red carpet and she did not hesitate before rushing to the old couple to relay their news.

It has been years since Rebecca and Emily ran away but the servants who have been serving the Huang’s for ages know what their young mistresses look like.

Grandma Huang ran her fingers through her daughters’ picture and couldn’t help but wear a bitter smile. Because they only wanted their daughters to get married into equal influential families, they lost their daughters for good.

"We even have a granddaughter Old man, she is just as pretty as Rebecca. I am also sure Emily has a beautiful family right now... I miss my daughters...I just want to know whether they are okay and ask for their forgiveness, my husband, please take me to country X."

Grandma Huang who had stopped crying started shedding tears once again when she remembered how she quarreled with the two girls about their marriage before they ran away.

Her husband just sighed as he looked at her. He has been living with regrets all these years and he knows that his two princesses will never forgive him but he wants to at least try and ask for their forgiveness, that way, he can rest in peace.

"Relax wife, we will be going to country X next week. Even if they won’t forgive us, although I really wish they did, we can rest our souls in peace knowing we atleast tried to ask for their forgiveness."

He told her as he wiped his own tears and hers.

"We could have let Emily marry Daniel as she wished husband, even if he seemed to come from a middle class family, we should have listened to Rebecca when she warned us about the man, we should have..."

Grandma Huang just couldn’t calm down and continued saying everything that was deeply buried in her heart.

"Relax my love, we will get our daughters back and meet our grand children."

He kissed her forehead as he comforted her. They were an old couple but their love was still blooming since their marriage.

"We will get them back..."

He kept whispering until the woman in his hands calmed down.

He picked the tablet on the table and replayed the video once again. His daughter looked so amazing but why was he seeing some hidden pain and struggle in her eyes?

"What have you been going through my girl?.."

He silently whispered as he looked on her right only to see Rose looking equally beautiful, as exact copy of her mother.

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips unknowingly. He was about to pause the video when he spotted Nicole behind Rebecca.

He did not know why but his eyes involuntarily softened looking at her. She looked so much like Rose and Rebecca that he was now sure Rebecca has more than one daughter.

The man felt like Nicole had some mystery surrounding her but he did not want to investigate anything because he wanted his daughters to tell him everything, their spouses and everything else.

The man leaned back on his seat sighing , his wife still in his arms as she had fallen asleep.

He had everything any person would wish for, fame, wealth, power, influence.. name it all but apart from his wife, he had no happy family to share his hard work with. His own selfishness made his children run away from him.

He did not want that anymore, he wanted to see his princesses one last time before his departure because the old man was sure that his time around was coming to an end very soon.

He wanted to pass down everything to his girls and grandchildren, seek for their forgiveness and finally rest in peace.
