Chapter 55: A special visit

Jane who did not seem to even know what she had caused got up and bowed to the elders, excusing herself. She immediately rushed upstairs.

Rose stared at her departing figure, got up and did the same thing but before she left, she turned towards Anna and Edward, "Congratulations by the way, you two fit each other just perfectly."

She rushed upstairs, he mouth itching for some gossip, leaving Ryan trying to suppress his laughter.

He stood up and gave the couple a look, "You know, if you two have come here to brag or annoy my sister, sorry to disappoint you. She even forgot your existence."

He bowed down to the elders, "I will be upstairs with the girls."

Anna looked at Ryan’s back and never even cared to conceal her hatred. She looked at the elders, "Edward and I came to inform you that we will be planning our engagement soon. You all will be invited, including Jane."

She took Edward’s hand and dragged him out of the mansion.

Edward’s mind was not even functioning correctly after seeing Jane’s smile. She rarely smiles but when she does, she looks so beautiful that he can’t take his eyes away from her. But what exactly made her smile? He was still wondering when he felt Anna grab his hand.

Up stairs, Rose immediately found Jane and stood with her hands on her hips, giving her that ’spill everything’ look.

Jane gave her an amused look and started explaining everything that happened, leading to the text they all read earlier.

Rose jumped up in excitement as she listened to her best friend’s words.

Her expression suddenly turned serious and she took Jane’s hand, "If you get a chance to fall in love again, this time with a real man, will you?"

Jane immediately shook her head, "There is no real love Rose.They will always be after sex and nothing else. I don’t want to lose myself to any man again, I feel hurt remembering I loved a man who cheated on her because of minutes of pleasure? F**king pleasure Rose!"

"I might seem to like Liam but I like him just as a friend, he is a kind and good man but I don’t want to fall in love Rose, what if he treats me just like Edward? I do not know how the Yang family is, what if they just want a powerful daughter-in-law because they are an influential family? I want to be treated like any normal woman although my status don’t allow me to look normal."

Rose just smiled and patted her lightly, she gave her a hug to make her cool down.

This silly girl didn’t even realize she went as far as imagining marriage with Liam.

She has found her next thing to do, make her bestfriend fall in love with the best man out there, Liam Yang. According to her, he is the only man who can match Jane perfectly.

’Liam Yang, looks like I need to pay you a special visit.’
