Chapter 54: Be careful

"JANE LU!" All of them shouted in unison making the girl in question wear a sheepish smile while Rose was trying hard to hold her laughter.

"Young woman,I feel like reprimanding you right now but again you are in the business world, make sure you do not harm yourself or expose yourself. There are a lot of enemies out here."

Father Lu said looking at his stubborn daughter. He knew once she sets foot in something, it cannot be changed, not even by his own father.

The others just shook their heads hopelessly because they knew Jane’s behavior perfectly well. She cannot stop what she starts.

Jane nodded her head immediately like an obedient child but as she was about to speak, the bultler rushed in.

He bowed before them and told them that Anna together with Edward were there.

Everyone else rolled their eyes and instinctively checked over to see Jane’s reaction, as if asking for her permission and when she nodded her head, they ordered the butler to let them in.

Ryan took a careful look at his sister and went and sat near her. He slowly whispered in her ears, "Sis, incase you want me to break their bones, just tap my shoulder, your awesome brother is here."

Jane looked at him and smiled pinching his cheeks, "If I can destroy thousands of businesses and make men bow, there is no way I will let them see me vulnerable."

The two siblings were in their own world that they did not even realize everyone, including Anna and Edward were staring at them.

Rose cleared her throat bringing them back.

Both of them stopped laughing and immediately wore cold expressions on their faces, looking at both Edward and Anna.

Anna cleared her throat and bowed down to the Lu elders, "Grandpa, grand..."

She was unable to complete her sentence when grandma Lu cut her off in a bitter tone.

"Don’t you dare call me grandma you ungrateful child! Even if you are illegitimate, the Lu family would have gladly accepted you but you became such a manipulative girl at such a young age! I don’t have a grandchild like you!"

The rest of the people maintained a pin drop silence but Anna pretended to start crying, "I an so... so sorry, I never meant to take brother Chen away from cousin... I.. I... we fell in love..."

She looked at Edward as if asking for support and the man beside her who had his attention all on Jane since he came immediately supported Anna’s words, thinking that he will hurt Jane and make her beg back for him.

"Anna’s words are right, we really fell in love, I accept I was wrong sleeping with Anna but I ended up falling for her.. It wouldn’t be good if you blame her because of Jane..."

"Mind your words Mr Chen, we are not acquainted for you to call me by my first name."

Jane retorted back immediately in a calm voice but the danger in it could not be ignored.

Anna was smiling gleefully thinking Jane was feeling jealous and Edward was having a smug on his face also thinking the girl was jealous.

Before anyone could speak, Jane’s phone beeped indicating a text message and she immediately picked it from the table.

There was a text from a new number but the content didn’t seem from a new person,

’Hey, good morning. I had to search for your phone number, actually I didn’t properly thank you for the cuff links, they are so beautiful but of course their beauty can’t be compared to yours. We should share a meal sometime.’

Involuntarily, her face turned into a small smile and her cheeks a little bit tinted. Rose and Ryan who were sitted on either side had their mouths hanging wide open since they saw the text clearly and the girl smiling and blushing! Heavens!

Edwards smug immediately disappeared as some worry sparked in him, ’Is it a man? No, no, it can’t be, she loves me!’

Anna wore a shocked expression while the elders stared at each other in confusion.

Did Jane just blush?
