The Undead system -
Chapter 54: more past visions
Chapter 54: more past visions
"Am here again." Jack muttered, floating aimlessly in this vast dark space. He could tell this wasn’t the same mind space his consciousness went to, when the system took over. But an entirely different one.
He could distinguish the two, because the mind space was somewhat real than this. Though his connection with his body was severed, he could still function normally seeing everything he saw. But this space on the other hand was colder and more eerie.
Low faint whispers echoed in the air, sending a dark bone chilling sensation down his spine.
The mind space felt real, but this space felt like an illusion. Like a fake, from a void from previous life.
Like before a broad white projection screen formed in front. Displaying the scene where he’d stopped, before flung out from this dark space.
’Is that me?’ Jack wondered staring at the baby. It didn’t look like him, having no resemblance whatsoever. Except for his unique jet black hair, which jack didn’t posses. Such silky and dark hair before he died.
"Gmhh.. dada!" The baby mumbled in a foreign language. Not entirely gibberish, having some meaning to it as the silver haird man understood him.
"Of course Joram. Daddy’s not going anywhere soon." He smiled gently sitting on the bed besides his wife. Their eyes gleaming with joy and excitement, staring at their little bundle of joy.
The scene then changed, fast-forwarding some few years later. Out in the spacious garden, adorned with countless of blood rose flowers and lillies. The pale skinned man could be seen putting on light clothing.
Unlike his before gore outfit, he chose to lessen the tension a bit. Wearing a simple black vest and pants. With loose footwear that resembled sandals.
"Are you ready Joram?" He smiled a baseball clutched in his hand.
"Always." In front a little boy of about 7 years, wearing the same clothing as the man replied. His composure was calm but his face was stern and ready for anything.
In his hand was a strange type of wooden bat. Not the normal brown in colour, but a more darker shade of purple.
"Alright then, think fast." His muscles tensed, stretching his hand back taking a pitcher pose. A light smirk plastered on his lips, seeing the boy’s composed yet steady gaze.
’He’s really grown.’ He inwardly thought a light sigh escaping his mouth. Slightly shaking his head, he shot his hand forward like a slingshot. The ball shooting out with incredible speed, heading straight for the boy.
’You got this..’ he chanted in his head gripping the bat tightly. Reading himself for the ball. The force of the ball was equivalent to a huge monster truck, containing tremendous power. With it sped like a sports car. Defying astronomical laws.
"Here it come." Closing his eyes he gripped the bat tightly. He could hear the bang sounds the ball produced, cutting through the air. Steading himself, he swung the bat with all his might at the right moment.
’Bam!’ A sound louder than a gunshot more like a blast from a tank resounded.
The ball impacting the wooden bat, both at a standstill from the collision. Shaking violently, threatening to be destroyed into bits any second later.
"Come on~" the boy gritted his teeth, refusing to be flung back from the sheer force. His feet digging into the ground as he struggled. Skidding back a bit from the ball’s force.
’Incredible, he’s showing tremendous strength.’ His father’s eye widened, seeing his son refuse to back down. He’d only used a half quarter of his strength, but still his son had managed to counteract it.
"I- can- do- this!" He yelled, his veins bulging all over his tensed muscles. His eyes turning bloodshot, adding more strength to his arms pushing the ball back.
"H-he’s actually doing it." The man with pale skin stuttered in disbelief watching Joram.
"Argh!" With a loud shout, he managed to finally push the ball back. Sending it shooting out like a bullet, flying fast across the air.
"Ha.. ha.." Joram panted in huge amounts of air, crouching down a bit. It had taken up everything in him to deflect the ball. He could feel his body go weak.
"I got you son." His father smiled catching him before he fell.
"H-how did I do father?" He asked with blurry eyes. His tone innocent and soft.
"Exceptionally son, just like a drakos." His father praised, giving him some light pats to the back. With Joram in his arms, the man made his way into the huge castle like building.
Entering, a frown immediately formed on his face seeing a figure in dark cloak.
"Hades." Jack floating in the dark space blurted out in shock. Not expecting to see hades in his memory.
"What are you doing here." It wasn’t a question but more of a demand, as the man’s expression was cold.
"Is that how you welcome an old friend?" Hades chuckled, innocently raising his hand in defeat. Still, the cold expression on joram’s father face didn’t fade, instead turning into a deep frown. The atmosphere immediately plummeting, making the nearby servents in the house drop to the floor panting for air.
A fight was undoubtedly about to break out, between these two powerhouses. Which will only result in carnage and destruction.
"Oh no!" A voice yelled with a gust of wind passing by. A beautiful enchanting young woman with silver hair, dressed in royal befitting attire appeared between the two.
"No more fighting in the house, you two brauns have already destroyed so much already!" She declared with authority to which they both nodded. The cold intimidating aura disappearing, like it was never present.
"I have news for you valdot. News I know you’ll find interesting." Hades smirked only making the boy’s father more wary.
"Take Joram and head upstairs into the safe chamber." Valdot uttered, placing Joram into his wife’s arm.
"Don’t tell me you’re going to fight him." She pouted, annoyance written all over her face.
"Am not going to fight him, we’re simply going to have a friendly.. chat." Valdot smiled planting a kiss to his wife forehead. She then calmly made her way upstairs, passing by hades giving him a cold stare.
"Daddy!" Joram shouted, his hand stretched in his mother’s arm.
"Don’t worry son I’ll be there soon." Valdot smiled, watching his wife and son fade out from view. His expression then changed turning darker as he faced hades.
"Now, let’s get down to business.."
The feed cut there, leaving jack perplexed with a lot of questions running through his mind.
Like what was hades doing in his memory, and why was he in that house? He’d said he wanted to discuss matters that interested valdot, and jack couldn’t help but wonder what such matters were.
Judging from valdot’s reaction, I can tell their not the best of acquaintances. Jack knew hades was a cunning and ignorant god. Toying on the minds of individuals and also having his way. Even with his brother zeus, the king of gods and strongest god to exist.
Staying in silence for a while Jack pondered on a lot of things, like what was hades relationship with valdot and his wife. And most especially.. were those even his parents to begin with?
The projection didn’t display anymore feed, crumbling into particles of white light dispersing in the air.
’Rumble!’
The dark space shook violently, and jack was already accustomed to this scenario. Even though it was just his second time being here.
’I have to get answers about my past.’ He thought, his consciousness transported out from the dark space.
----------------------
Meanwhile.. up in space very far away. a huge castle like building, opposite of the dark castle could be seen floating aimlessly in space. Several guards with strange futuristic weapons, too advanced, stood at specific spot in shiny bronze clad full armour.
Going deeper into the building, that looked like an entire continent of more people. In lesser accessories but chic glowing attires, adorned with precious stones and artifacts.
Going about their business in this castle like building, unfazed by the fact they were floating aimlessly in space. And what was worse was, they breathed fine without oxygen!!
In the more deeper parts of this city like building, a huge framing tower could be seen standing at an astonishing height. It was built from different glowing stones, of a variety of colours. Adding to it’s magnificent architectural design.
"That idiot.. what was he thinking!" Zeus roared, causing the cloudy space to shake a bit. The rest golden seats were empty, as the other gods had left. Only about a dozen guards remained with Zeus.
’I knew I shouldn’t have banished him.’ He weakly sighed, the brotherly affection and love overpowering his judgements.
"But still.. what was he thinking!" He slammed his hand to the arm rest destroying it.
.....
In a similar space but dark, with a bottomless pit and several lit up torches. A single dark terrifying throne could be seen, with a figure seated on it.
"So.. he’s really growing fast huh?" A light smirk escaped hades mouth, his eyes glowing red.
"Seems like I’ll pay him a visit soon." He thought with a smug grin, in front was a horse as black as night itself.
