When the tendril wrapped around him, there wasn’t a shroud of fear in his eyes. Maintaining a calm and indifferent expression. Almost lifeless.

[That horse, it’s not normal. This skill is just like blood decay, I can detect similar traits in the blood.] The system voice echoed in the dark space where jack floated. Unlike before where everywhere was dark, in front he could see the images his body saw. In a projection like view through his eyes.

He didn’t know how, but whenever the system took control his consciousness faded. Returning to this dark space he guessed was his mind. He couldn’t feel any connection with his body, like a severed tie completely separated.

"Am not entirely sure, but there’s a possibility I might know this beast." Jack refered to the darker than usual black horse as a beast, because it looked like such. Not a regular normal black horse.

"Mhm!" His body gasped as the tendrils clung to his skin, digging deeper in drawing out fresh blood. The blood however didn’t gush down, instead absorbed by the red tendrils.

[I can’t move.] The system grunted in frustration, unable to move jack’s body. No matter how much strength the system added, jack’s body couldn’t break past the red tendrils. Instead, they clung more tighter to his body the more he struggled.

Multiple huge holographic screens popped up in front, illuminating the dark space a bit. Gritting his teeth jack knew there was nothing he could do. If he chose to regain control now it would be futile, as the reason he’d chosen to give the system control was because of his stamina.

He’d been engaged in a tough battle with kabobs, then the two knights. They took a huge toll on his stamina, as he’d even sustained a couple of injuries from them. Toppled with the lesser goblin soldiers, and villagers he’d slaughtered along the way.

Jack wasn’t an expert in battle, no! He was far from that.

He knew basic fighting skills but nothing fancy or credible. And facing the goblin king with the horse was just like going against a boss, with no experience. The decision has already been decided before the fighting.

But with the help of the system, he could tell his body became more stronger. And as an evolved artificial intelligence, it primary had more knowledge about fighting better than him.

"Wait.. what about blood decay." Jack blurted out, his eyes widened as an idea popped up in his head.

[Blood decay..] there was an uncertainty in the systems tone hearing jack.

[I fail to see how blood decay-] the system paused realizing something.

[Jack you’re a genius!] The system excitedly said like a little child receiving a present. Making tints of red appear on jack’s cheeks, blushing a bit.

[Ehhm! I mean your idea is plausible, but will it work?]

"Well, there’s only one way to find out.."

.....

The goblin king stared in shock seeing the red tendrils dissolve. Turning into pure liquid red blood, sliding down jack’s skin. But stopped midway by an unknown force, floating in the air with a command.

"Impossible! He’s controlling it?" A look of disbelief plastered on the goblin king’s face, seeing jack undoubtedly controlling the liquid blood.

The blood moved with precision, joining with the other drops of blood forming a football sized ball. Getting bigger as much blood conjoined together, creating a big ball of blood floating in the air.

Stretching his hand jack controlled the blood, making it swirl with power. It twisted in a coordinated matter vibrating fiercely, creating dozens of small spikes in contrast to the vibration.

’Bam!’ The huge blood ball shot fast, defying the laws of physics despite it’s size. Beads of sweat streamed down jack’s head, controlling the blood ball.

While in the space, he’d figured since blood ball could desolve anything, why not test it on the blood tendrils? They were of the same category being blood, but blood decay effects had an edge against the tendrils.

Jack was a bit surprised seeing his guess worked. Then another idea popped up in his head. According to his little knowledge on abilities and skills. He knew abilities were of certain types either elemental, spatial, illusion, and so on. Some having unique traits like blood bending, godlike speed, and so on.

Out of each of this abilities a skill was then formed, or could be created by the user. Though this was mostly rare, as it required high concentration and a large pool of energy to do such. If the individual wasn’t strong willed mentally and physically, then such feet wouldn’t be achieved.

Ancient bloodline ability was in the categories of special abilities. Out of the abilities he’d seen in books, none made mention of such an ability. There were some blood abilities relating to vampires, but not as distinct as the ancient bloodline ability.

Now, regarding the abilities he’d read about from vampires, most had the capacity to bend blood to their will. Maneuvering into different shapes and sizes. Creating all sorts of weapons and objects, based on the user’s imagination.

But the bloodline ability was no doubt related to blood, a special kind but blood nevertheless. And the blood tendrils were technically blood also, so he could try to manipulate the blood.

"Impossible.." the horse telepathically spoke out loud stunning everyone.

"What!? Y-you can speak?" The goblin king stuttered in disbelief. The horse ingored him, it’s eyes focused on the blood ball in front. It didn’t attempt to dodge or block standing still.

"What are you doing, get out of the way!" The goblin screamed frantically, panic in it’s eyes.

Just when he thought it was over for jack the latter did the impossible, defying all odds. Even going as far as to control the blood to his will.

"Damnit!" Seeing the horse had no intention to move, the goblin lept off the horse. Few feet’s from the menacing beast. The huge blood ball reached the beast in no time, colliding with the horse.

’Boom!’ A huge explosion occured sending shockwaves. Clouds of dust were risen up, along with strong gusts of wind blasting away trees and nearby stones.

A pop sound resounded, as the blood ball popped like a balloon. Splashing huge amounts of blood everywhere.

"Ha.. ha.. i-is it dead?" Jack wondered panting, his breath ragged. His body was already numb from pain, standing on wobbly legs that would betray him any minute now. It had taken up everything in him to manipulate the blood tendrils, into that blood ball completely draining him.

[N-no~] the system uttered in disbelief and jack could see it. The dust began settling, revealing a figure on four legs standing there.

"I-impossible." jack gritted his teeth seeing the horse standing there without a scratch. That attack was no doubt able to kill a large amount of goblins, but did nothing to a single horse?

’I-i can’t fight anymore.’ He was mentally and physically drained and needed to rest. Taking him out of the action involuntarily, leaving him open to attacks.

"Damnit!" Jack screamed at how weak he was. There was no doubt he would die now as he was defeated, even after giving everything he had.

"Haha!" The goblin king chuckled hysterically, the previous fear in his eyes disappearing. Replaced with a more sinister grin, seeing jack’s attack fail to deal any damage to the horse.

’Thump! thump.’ The horse footsteps echoed in the air, though it minimally made any effort. Stopping directly in front of jack, a glint of excitement and worry flashed in the horse eyes.

’Could he be the one? After all these years.. has he finally returned?’ Glancing down to jack, he could see the latter incredibly weak. Even his aura was very low hard to perceive fading.

"Who are you?" A deep voice spoke, and jack could tell it was the horse speaking.

"Ju-st kill me already." Jack shrugged, uninterested in discussing anything with his enemy. Preferring to be killed than beg at the hands of his opponent like a dog.

"As much as I want to I can’t. Not yet. There are still something’s that are yet to be proven, but one thing is for sure. Only a drakos can achieve such power." Two tears of blood slid from both eyes, floating in the air. Hardening to form two dull red gems.

[Life gem, incredible!] The system exclaimed, it’s shocked tone unhidden.

The two life gems then pierced jack’s body healing him of his injuries, and restoring his hp and body state. Even giving him somewhat newfound strength.

"W-why are you helping?" Jack questioned to which the horse shook it’s head.

"Do not be mistaken. I am not helping you from the goodness of my heart, there are some theories I need to test before making my decision." The horse then glanced at the goblin king, standing there with a perplexed face.

"Defeat the goblin king and I’ll grant you two more life crystals to unlock your true affinity."

The horse said calmly walking to the side.

’H-how does he know?’ Jack wondered his eyes twitching. No one, absolutely no one apart from hades knew of the system, so how did this beast know?

"Begin!" The powerful voice jolted jack from his trance.

[Quest received!]

[Defeat the rank E goblin king!]

[Reward: +2 level up and new item in shop, failure: imminent death]

"I have no choice." Steeling his resolve he stood up, he was going to kill the goblin king anyways. But with the addition of the quest rewards, further fueled his will for goblin king blood.
