The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 82

Chapter 82: Chapter 82

"Murder? Things here keep getting better and better. Care to enlighten me about this murder?" Killian asked. From all the information he received about the Blackwells over the years, he never heard mention of the queen being murdered. It was said that Anne died from a sickness.

"I am certain my mother was killed and my father knew the person behind it or it was him. Looking back on my mother’s last few weeks before she died, she behaved as if she was anticipating something. She kept informing me of people I should turn to for help and places around the kingdom I should visit if I ever wanted to get away from my father. I believe that is when she started to place her things in my name like the funds for the orphanages," Amelia explained.

If only she had paid more attention back then, she might have been able to prevent her mother’s death. How exactly did her mother know something was going to happen that she started preparing Amelia for the future without her? Who made her mother feel that her life was on the line?

"I had been with my mother daily and not once did she appear sick before me until the final week when it was said she suddenly fell ill and no one but my father was allowed to see her. Then they declared she had passed away. At first, I thought my mother was killed for a new queen to be placed on the throne but two years have passed by but my father has not married. If this is true, what do you think was the reason behind her death?" Amelia asked Killian for his opinion.

Certainly, something like this wouldn’t be new to him.

"If it wasn’t your father who killed her in order to have a new queen, she could have found out something she wasn’t supposed to know and someone silenced her. Maybe one of your father’s women was jealous and somehow poisoned her if she suddenly fell sick. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if the court ministers were involved. To kill a queen, that person must have a lot of influence in the castle," Killian replied.

It was unfortunate a lot of time had passed so any evidence the queen was murdered was long covered up. It would take everyone involved to start turning on each other and exposing what happened.

"Solving the circumstances around her death was one thing I always wanted to accomplish but I must put it to rest. This kingdom cannot handle the news that their precious queen was murdered right now and the longer I wait, the less I can prove she was murdered. I can only hope those involved suffer for the rest of their lives and even in death. Sorry, this conversation took a turn," she apologized for talking about death at a time like this.

"Don’t apologize. I am enjoying this conversation. As satisfying as it may be, you don’t need to get revenge on your enemies while they are still alive. I can see them after they’ve passed and tortured them for you. Just give me the list of names. Tell you what," he pulled her closer to tell her a secret. "If you find me a really good gift, I will bring your father to you."

Amelia felt like her heart skipped a beat. She stopped walking while Killian causally continued to walk ahead. She gave her father a quick death. Killian had no idea how wonderful it would be to see him again and rub his pitiful end in his face. She also needed to have one last conversation with her father. It was unfortunate her time was limited the night she killed him.

There was so much Amelia needed to get off her chest and hopefully, it would help her be able to sleep at night.

Amelia quickly caught up to Killian and asked, "What kind of gift do you need?"

"Look at you so eager to get what I need. Has no one ever told you never to trust a demon?"

"No one ever told me they existed for me to not trust them," she replied. "Quite frankly, I hardly trust you but I am pushing whatever I feel to the side as this marriage will happen regardless. I am trying to trust you as my future husband. Not as a demon."

"I see. I will think of what I want and then find a day when we are in the north to bring him to you. Deal?" He held up his pinky finger for them to make a deal. When Amelia just stared at it, he inspected his finger and said, "There is no blood on it."

"That’s not the reason why I have not made the deal yet. Is that why you walk with your hands behind your back a lot?"

"My hands have been covered with blood many times. I don’t want to scare you with my hands even when they are clean. A princess like you should not touch hands like mine so often. Is this the garden you meant?" Killian looked around an open area where children ran around. "Why is everything here so bright and bubbly? I’m starting to regret not heading back to the north right away."

"That won’t do. We need to have some ground rules. I will not be sleeping inside of your gloomy room which is probably full of weapons," she hit the nail right on the head. "You will have to brighten it up to fit my liking. I hope the north is not a place void of happy spaces like this."

"It is not, however, those spaces are not for me. Is there anything else you desire for when we share a room?" Killian asked, sitting down on a bench while she thought of things.

"I have not thought about it much but I guess I would like for us to be able to have a set for us to talk about our day or something. Whatever married couples need to discuss. If I run into any problems with anyone, I will alert you of them during that time. What else?" Amelia paused to think about what else she would want. "No women in our bedroom."

"There weren’t any before. Do you look at me and think I am a man who needs to be with a woman at every moment? I might be from the underworld but I am faithful. There is no need to worry about women but I feel we will go down this road again," he sighed, already getting a headache from this topic.

"We won’t have to go down this road again if you have no other woman by your side. If I am to remain faithful, so should you. You might be physically stronger than me but I am petty and I will certainly make you regret not being loyal to me. I will hit you where it hurts," she promised him.

She didn’t care if he was some big bad demon.

"Noted," Killian became amused by this rather than feeling threatened. "You’re making me want to have an affair just to see what you would do. I’m kidding,"he held up his hands to show he had surrendered.

The last thing he would do was cheat on her. Not only because he was not that type of person but also the fact it was something she hated about her father.

"I don’t have the patience to deal with two women making a fuss in my ear while trying to decide who I adore more. I get irritated easily for that kind of drama in my ears,"he explained.

"It wouldn’t be a fuss as I never plan to argue with another woman over a man. Either you belong to solely me or we are nothing. Remember those words well. I will believe that you are a one woman man right now," Amelia took a seat beside him. "I won’t judge you anymore because of what I witnessed with my father. I apologize for being tough when you have done nothing."

"I should also warn you to never engage in a relationship with another man. Or woman," he added as there were many cases in the north where women cheated on their partners with another woman.

Sometimes men with other men. Most demons hardly cared who their sexual partner was as long as they were satisfying their high sex drive.

"I will have that man torn limb from limb and toss them in the underworld for the hellhounds to feast on his soul. I will have you sent back to this kingdom for betraying and we both know your life would be miserable if I did that. Just as you do not tolerate, I am the same," said Killian.

He wasn’t the type to share his woman with another man.

"Good to know we are on the same page. From our conversations so far, the two of us will get along just fine."
