"Come, we have to tell your people the good news. They’ll be delighted to hear you have accepted the proposal but keep quiet about our children taking the throne," Killian offered his hand out for her to walk beside him.

"Have you been blind to the men inside the throne room? None of them will be happy to learn that I will become your queen. They do not want me to inherit my father’s throne or be queen elsewhere. My grandmother will be the only one jumping for joy. She has been mentioning the two of us getting married to stop this war," Amelia could picture how excited her grandmother will be.

"They fear what will be done to them when you marry a man with a strong offer to slay them. I am also tempted to make more heads roll today. There seem to be a lot of people who will annoy me in the future. This castle is in need of being cleansed," said Killian.

"Do not kill anyone else. As much as I am happy that Ricardo is gone, I don’t want to look back on the day we became engaged and think of dead bodies. When other young couples get engaged, it’s said to be a joyous day. The gift that I want is peace," Amelia said as life had been too chaotic recently. "Just for this one day."

"So tomorrow, I can cause as much chaos as I want? I will give you want. No one else will die today. I will have my men release the people they placed in the dungeon. You should warn them not to plot anything as I am always prepared. You cannot go back on your word now that you have agreed to marry me. You are mine and I will kill an entire army to take you back to the north with me. Do not underestimate that," Killian gave her a warning.

"Believe me, I won’t and when I make a promise, I always keep it. I will not go back to my words as long as you make today peaceful. And there is my request you have your men stop referring to Cyrus as a traitor-"

"Princess," Killian cut her off before she could agitate him further. "You should know it makes my blood boil when you mention that man. It infuriates me that I cannot figure out what relationship the two of you have. Is he just loyal to you or is there something more the two of you don’t want to admit?"

"We’ve only been engaged for a small moment. There is no need for you to already think I have someone I am sleeping with on the side. Cyrus and I are simply friends, you jealous king. Nothing more. I don’t see why it is a problem that I care for him. He has been one of the only people protecting me in the castle. Shouldn’t you feel grateful to him for keeping your future wife safe?" Amelia asked.

"You will one day understand why I find him to be irritating. I view you as mine and he is like a pest lingering somewhere he shouldn’t be. Whether he has feelings for you or not, you have ended up by my side. I am certain he is just as irritated with me the as I am with him. I’d bet my favorite sword that he will try changing your mind. I shall kill him if he does," Killian stated with a lack of humor in his voice. He was dead serious.

"Killian," Amelia halted her steps and stared at the back of Killian. "Honestly, have you fallen deeply in love with me already to be acting this way? I cannot understand you."

Killian smiled as he looked down at Amelia while she tried to understand him. There was enough time in her life span to understand a demon like him. One day she will learn the secrets the north had and how demons were possessive creatures who did not like to share. It was no love making him act this way. It was how intriguing she was considering the fact she was a mere human.

An entertaining human was something he could not let go of and he was not going to share her with a human or demon.

"I do not love you, princess," he was honest with his reply. "I will say there has been an old witch telling me for years that someone like you would ruin me. I wish to see what that would be like. Don’t you find it to be exciting?"

"I find it to be weird how you will marry me not because you have feelings for me but because you find me to be intriguing and I will supposedly ruin you. However, there are kings who pick wives for more foolish reasons. Whatever happened to marrying for love? Why has that seemed to become nonexistent among royalty? I wouldn’t even suggest the two of us get to know each other before driving into preparing for marriage. You’ll want to return to the north immediately as its king is absent."

Amelia wished to have more time here in the castle. The north was cold and the people would be distant. She’ll miss the townspeople and villagers she visits in a while. There was also her mother’s orphanage she would have to leave in the hands of someone else.

"No. It’s been a long time since I’ve stepped foot on Blackwell land. There are many things I should see and learn as I am marrying its princess. There is someone acting as king while I am away. We will stay a little longer for you to pack and say your goodbyes. I don’t plan on immediately taking you away from the only home you’ve ever known." Killian knew that the proper time for her to say goodbye would make it easier for her to leave.

"That’s kind of you but it’s not like I will be saying goodbye forever right? Will I be allowed to visit the castle anytime I want? Thank you," Amelia added when he nodded yes. Shs could never stay away from her true home.

"You can run off to this castle when you are upset with me and like a dutiful husband, I shall follow you to bring you back to the north. I truly believe that once you start living in the north you will never want to leave. It is nothing like you imagine it to be. Margaret Blackwell can come with us. I like her," said Killian.

Out of all the Blackwells, he met before Amelia, Margaret was the only one he could tolerate. She was smarter than her husband and it was a shame the Blackwells never allowed queens to rule alone. They missed out on opportunities for an excellent ruler to improve their kingdom.

There was no doubt in his mind that if Amelia sat on the throne it would have been more difficult for him to enter the castle. He still would have gotten in as there was no way they could stop a group of demons but it would have been a better game.

Amelia thought it would be wonderful to have her grandmother with her in the north but she would never bring this up to her. The north won’t accept a Blackwell as easy as Killian was. Quite frankly, he seemed to be thinking with penis more than his brain. Amelia could never subject her grandmother to deal with the north’s hatred. Only one of them should suffer.

"I won’t bring my grandmother with me. Besides, you shouldn’t get to steal away two powerful Blackwell women. She will remain here to keep an eye on Fraser. He has always been afraid of her," Amelia chuckled as the memories of Fraser crying whenever they were around flooded her mind. "I should also leave my maid with her."

"So you plan to travel to the north without anyone by your side?" Killian asked. He was giving her the chance to bring along anyone she wanted onto his land where outsiders weren’t normally allowed. She should take advantage of this moment.

"I will not be alone. I will have my future husband and Cyrus by my side no matter how much you might object. Oh," Amelia suddenly remembered something.

Cyrus would not be able to follow her to the north until he found the woman he was looking for. There was no doubt Killian would get rid of the slave trade to save the captured northerners. What she needed was a proper description of this woman.

"When you free your people from the slave trade there is a woman that Cyrus is looking for. That is another gift you can give me. I wish to find her for Cyrus. Why are you grinning? Is it because Cyrus is taken?" Amelia soon after concluded.

"You should have mentioned this sooner. I will have my men search for her."
