The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 64
Chapter 64: Chapter 64
’Men and their jealousy,’ Amelia thought.
Killian shared no romantic feelings for her but he was already showing jealousy toward Cyrus. She couldn’t help but wonder if they were to grow to love each other, what would become of Killian’s jealousy? Or worse, her jealousy.
"Killian, there is one last thing that I want."
"At this rate, we should get a pen and paper. A while ago you were not willing to marry me but now you have a list of demands every minute. What is it you desire now princess?" Killina played with a loose strand of hair while he waited for what else she wanted.
"You are to have no mistresses. I don’t want to experience what my mother did. Just as you say I belong to you, you are mine and mine alone. No other woman should claim to have you after we have gotten married."
The corners of Killian’s lips curled. "That will be no problem. I plan to be a devoted husband and give myself to only. I expect the same from you."
"Without a doubt, I will not look at other men. Please keep your promise, Killian. If you ever put me in the same position my father placed my mother in, I don’t know how, but I will kill you. Do not play with me," Amelia gave him a warning. No matter how dangerous he was, she would find a way to kill him. Everyone had a weakness.
"I will not. Is that all?" He offered his hand for them to walk side by side. Killian did not mind what she was worried about because she grew up around a man like Richard who had no respect for his wife. Even the north knew about Richard’s whoring ways.
Though Killian was a demon, it didn’t mean he was like many others who could not resist lusting after others even though they were already with someone. He was not a demon chasing after constant sex. He was the type to enjoy chaos and watching the world burn but even so, he had been bored during the last years and lived quietly in the north waiting for something exciting to happen.
"Yes," Amelia replied as she could not think of anything else at this moment. "Is there anything that you want? It’s not fair I get to make a list of demands when I am at your mercy."
"Other than your father’s head, I have only wanted you and now, I have you. Is outside hot for you, princess? You are turning red," Killian couldn’t resist commenting on her red cheeks.
"Shut up and keep walking," Amelia looked away to hide her cheeks she knew were red. Typically, she would have disliked it but something stirred inside of her each time Killian mentioned having her. She knew it was purely sexual desires based on the dirty books she confiscated from Gina and wanted to smack herself from lusting after Killian.
"It’s hard to that when he’s so...he’s so," Amelia couldn’t believe she had muttered these words out loud and she did not have to look at Killian’s face to know he was most likely amused and waiting to hear the ending of what she was randomly talking about. "Ahem," she cleared her throat. "They are waiting for us."
Amelia didn’t care to wait to walk with Killian and went ahead of him. She would not give in to any desires until he kept his promise to free the people he placed in the dungeon and ensure that no one else would get hurt.
As soon as Amelia entered the throne room, Margaret rushed to her side to check on her.
"Are you alright child? I was thinking of chasing after you but someone has to keep these fools in line," Margaret pointed over her shoulders at the older court ministers who looked as if they were plotting something.
"I am alright, grandmother. I had a little talk with King Killian on the outside and I’ve calmed down," said Amelia. She tried her hardest not to look at the dead body filling the throne room floors with blood.
"After our agreement, it’s only fair we refer to each other on a first-name basis," Killian appeared right behind Amelia.
"What agreement?" Margaret looked back and forth between Amelia and Killian waiting for an answer.
"I’ve decided to wed the king of the north," Amelia spoke out loud for everyone to know. "Our kingdoms will be united with our marriage."
The court minister’s faces showed shock but they dared not object to the decision Amelia made out of fear Killian would kill them. At least with this marriage, the Blackwell kingdom would be spared but they would have a bad relationship with the kingdom of the princess expecting to marry Amelia.
Fraser asked, "What will become of the Blackwell throne? It must not remain empty."
"It will remain empty if you do not address me properly. You will sit on the throne with guidance from Margaret Blackwell. No order from your mouth must be carried out without her approval. Do not think of having something miraculously happen to her. If something happens to her, I will return to this kingdom and cover the streets with blood. Not even your princess will be able to persuade me against it. Are we clear?"
"Yes," Fraser replied even though he disliked having his grandmother watch over him as if he were a child. ’I have what I have always wanted. I will make sure you regret putting me on the throne,’ he thought.
Fraser did not plan to bow down to the north or have Margaret tell him what to do. He dreamed of being a powerful king and that is what he will be. As soon as Killian and his men departed for the north, he would start plotting to get rid of the northern king. He would show Killian and other kings why the Blackwells were meant to be feared. First, he wanted to get rid of his father’s last name and be named Blackwell.
"Is no one going to congratulate my future wife on her engagement?" Killian sent a threatening glare at the court minister. Now, Amelia was more than just their princess. Whatever games they played before will not go unpunished. Disrespecting her was just as good as disrespecting him and anyone bold enough to do that had always ended up in blazing fire.
"Congratulations princess.
"Thank you. Grandmother, are you crying?" Amelia questioned when she noticed water running from her grandmother’s eyes. She couldn’t remember the last time she saw her grandmother crying. Was it on the day her mother died? Amelia wasn’t sure. "I thought you would be jumping for joy because you have recommended this to me. Are you sad about me leaving? He’s promised I will stay a little bit longer."
"Allow this old woman to shed a few tears. I have recommended it but I admire your sacrifice to leave for the sake of your people. Well done, Amelia. I always knew you would one day make an excellent queen whether it be here or assholes. Show these assholes-"
"Grandmother," Amelia’s eyes widened while Killian smiled.
"-why they should regret not being on your side. I am proud of you, Amelia and I always will be. I need to have a word with your future husband, Amelia. Please leave the throne room so you do not have to look at the disgusting sight there," Margaret said, referring to Ricardo’s dead body.
"I will go take a look at my mother’s tower. If you need me, please send someone right away. Excuse me," Amelia walked away to give them some privacy.
Killian silently watched Fraser storm out of the throne room at the same time to follow Amelia. He had no reason to follow the two to make sure no harm came to Amelia. Fraser smelled like a coward but looked smart enough to know not to touch Amelia.
"Walk with me," Margaret hooked her hand around Killian’s arms. "Our temple has shut its doors and no one has come out since your people arrive. None of your men have tried breaking it in as they will burn. I’m a little jealous that after all these years since I met you, you still look youthful while I’ve grown old."
"It is a wonderful gift thanks to the power in my blood. Your appearance might have changed but you are no different than the young woman who requested a secret audience with me behind her husband’s back and then you did it behind your son’s back. I see where the princess gets her fire from. Why on earth did it skip your son?"
Margaret bitterly smiled while thinking of her late child. "He inherited his father’s personality. That is why I held Amelia close. I raised her more like my daughter than my granddaughter. I’m afraid there was some jealousy from my son when I treated his daughter better than I did him. However, you should not underestimate the fire Anne had."
"I see. Why did you wish to speak with me, Margaret?" Killian wanted to get to the point even though he enjoyed talking with Margaret. "I have no plans of harming her."
"Tell her by the end of the day what you are. Show her what she has gotten herself into."
