The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 323

Chapter 323: Chapter 323

Fraser got to his feet at a speed he didn’t think his body could have with how tired he was. It might have been his hunger or thirst that had him hearing things from a dead man’s mouth, but he was not taking a risk when the devil’s wife was outside.

Fraser looked at the door he had piled up so many benches on. It would take him a while to pull down the benches so he could get out of there and take a chance running past Lilith. While trying to hide in the church, he trapped himself with a priest who didn’t know how to be dead.

"King Fraser."

"Shit," Fraser cursed, running from the offering table to the door to start taking down the benches. First, demons and now ghosts were in the castle.

"King Fraser," the voice repeated, but this time, it was more than one priest addressing Fraser.

Fraser ignored the dead men as he ran to the door. His vision started to become blurry, but he shook his head to focus and pulled at the benches the moment he reached the door. He had not thought of making it easy to get out if a demon were to find a way inside.

Now that he thought about it as he fought to pull away all the benches, he should have kept one of the doors with only one bench in front of it for a quick escape.

"King Fraser."

The distorted voice of the men behind him sent shivers throughout Fraser’s body. The stench of death that once filled the room vanished like there were never any dead men in the temple.

A cracking noise filled the temple aside from Fraser panting. Deep intakes of air like someone was finally given access to air once again after being underwater for so long were heard.

Fraser froze, shaken up by fear. He feared what he might witness if he were to turn around now. There were still many benches for him to push from blocking the door and he knew he would not get them out of the way in time.

He had done his job perfectly of keeping danger from getting inside the temple, but he had not considered what blocking the door would do if there was something inside with him.

This had to be the devil’s wife doing since she could not get inside.

Fraser slowly looked to the right at the swords placed in the hands of statues on the wall. He didn’t know how to properly use a sword but now was a good time to start swinging one around since his life depended on it.

Fraser left the door and ran to get the sword out of the statue’s hands. The temple was utterly useless and if he had known this in the past, he would have gotten it knocked down. It was pointless for the people to pray to Gods when they had a king who protected them. All they needed was their king.

Fraser pried the sword from the statue’s hands and turned around to finally see what was inside the temple with him. His hands shook as he pointed the sword at the priest who all stood watching him.

The bodies still looked stripped of life, but yet, they stood before him with red eyes watching his every movement.

In unison, the priests held out their hands to Fraser. "Come with us, King Fraser. We will take you to a place where you can rest. You can sit on a throne and forget about this day," they said.

Fraser slowly walked sideways, not knowing where he was going yet, but standing still made him fear what would come. He had to keep moving so they would not reach him, "You are dead-’

"There is a place after this world for the dead and the queen-"

"Do not try to fool me, demons!" Fraser spat. He was not going to be fooled. "You are not the priests. They would not be holding out their hands to me now. They would be looking to kill the evil that roams the castle. Kill Amelia who has welcomed these monsters inside my home. You are nothing but monsters taking a body like the whore of a mother."

A cracking noise was heard amongst the priests once more and they stood silent instead of replying to Fraser right away.

Fraser took it as Lilith losing control of whatever she was doing and continued to walk on the side to get around the dead priests. "This is a temple. You do not belong here," he said, hoping it would somehow make them go away. "This is not a place for evil."

"That is why we wish to take you from this place. You do not belong in this place, Fraser."

Fraser gritted his teeth, angered by how they suddenly addressed him without the title of a king now. "I own this castle!" Fraser yelled, reminding them who was the current ruler. He was still alive therefore the throne did not belong to Amelia.

"This temple, the castle walls, and the people within it are all mine. I go wherever my heart desires. It is you and all these creatures that do not belong here. My cousin, who laid with a monster and is so foolish to be hanging on to his every word has ruined this castle. It is she who should be haunted by all of you. I am not the one who failed this kingdom!" Fraser yelled.

He had done nothing wrong. It was Amelia who killed her flesh and blood, laid with a demon, and brought hell to this castle yet she was going without any punishment. There were no fingers pointed at her for the things she had done.

The very Gods who were given gifts in this temple should be looking to punish Amelia and her husband.

As Fraser continued to move, the priests followed his movement, turning their bodies to match his. Now when he stepped to the side, they would take a step forward toward him.

Not realising that they were moving when he moved, Fraser stepped to the side faster to get away from them.

"I order you to stop!" Fraser commanded them.

The priests smiled at his order. "We only listen to the devil and his wife. You have no power here and those Gods do not care to save you. Come with us, Fraser. We will take you to a place where you can get away from this world and sit on a throne. You will be free."

Fraser looked around for any holy water that should be in the temple. Something like that should have helped him, but he could not find any. He looked at the table of gifts and wondered if there might be some water there. If he had spent a little bit of time in the temple, he might have known where the priests kept it, but he did not know.

If he could close his eyes and wake up in the past to when he was younger, there were so many things he would do differently to be able to survive this madness in the castle.

"You are making her little game boring. The queen has an offer. She will give you an opening to go back to your cousin to kill her. If you succeed in killing Killian’s wife, Lilith will make a deal with you to spare your life and help you get out of the castle. You only need to accept the deal," the priest at the front said, holding out his hand to Fraser.

"You must take me for a fool that I would believe she would let me kill Amelia and get out of here. They are all on one side and she will not betray Killian. Leave me alone. Let me rest here," Fraser replied.

His back was now to the wall as the priests cornered him. There was nowhere to run now and he could only continue to point his sword to keep them away. "You!" Fraser exclaimed as the priests charged at him all at once.

He pointed his sword forward and looked away from the priests.

The priests made it past his sword and grabbed his hands to pull him forward.

Fraser gasped, opening his eyes. He sat up to see what the priests had done to him, but when he looked around the temple, he saw the dead priests lying around on the floor just as he had found them. Confused, Fraser looked at the door and found that none of the benches had moved and the sword he picked up was still in the hands of the statue.

"It was a dream," Fraser sighed in relief, touching his chest to calm his heart. His hunger and thirst were getting the better of him.

Meanwhile, Lilith tapped her cheek with her fingers as she watched Fraser in the mirror Lucifer kept in their bedroom.

"You cheeky woman," Lucifer said, sitting beside Lilith to watch Fraser’s punishment in the underworld.

"I wonder how long it will take him to notice that he is no longer in the world of the living," Lilith replied, keeping her eyes on Fraser’s special room in the underworld.
