The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 324
Chapter 324: Chapter 324
Amelia walked the halls back to her bedroom as another day was coming to an end and it was soon time for her to meet with Lilith and the other women. Before that, she had to meet with Killian to spend a bit of time with him.
"I should have told Lilith we would have some girl time in the morning," Amelia said to herself.
Nighttime was meant for her to spend what little time she had with Killian, but she was so caught up in the moment with Lilith that she said she would have a girl’s night.
"Why do you seem so defeated?" Edith asked. She trailed Amelia, keeping an eye out for any danger from the other demons or humans still left in the castle.
"I made a decision that will have my needy husband not wanting me to leave and my needy friend wanting to pull me away from my husband. Tonight will be interesting. I know it is Killian and Lilith, but if those two start playing tug of war with me, please take me far away from them. Those two can be like children sometimes," Amelia said, shaking her head.
"I was informed that we are to meet, eat, have drinks, and talk about things young women would at your age or younger. I am not as young as I look," Edith reminded Amelia.
"I am aware of that. It has nothing to do with age. We were just thinking of having a fun night with a few ladies to make up for something we never genuinely experienced. Do you have a lot of friends, Edith? There is so much about you that I am yet to know," Amelia said, stopping to look at Edith who also stopped.
"You don’t need friends in the underworld. The most I had were my siblings, but I wanted to kill one each time I saw them. I didn’t make many friends when I came to this world. I kept to myself until you arrived. Now, there is Gina. She scares easily, but I like her," Edith replied.
"You are breaking my heart. Am I not your friend?" Amelia questioned, walking backwards so she could see Edith’s reaction.
"You are the queen. And a friend," Edith spoke softly, hoping no one heard that.
"Why are you looking around? Would it be so bad if others knew you were a friend of mine- Oh!" Amelia exclaimed when she walked into something hard. She looked up and found Killian staring down at her. "You know I don’t like it when you sneak up on me like this. You should make your presence known. You are early."
"I came early for my wife to greet me like this? Where are the kisses and the hugs?" Killian asked, wrapping his hands around her waist.
Edith backed away to give the two some privacy. She doubted Amelia would be joining Lilith for a girl’s night when Killian would not want to let her go. Edith was still up for drinking since she knew Lilith had to have a good collection of drinks.
It would be even better if they were to start fighting each other. That would be a real party.
"Kisses and hugs are for people I am not angry with. You forced me to sleep and you were gone when morning came. Do you honestly think you deserve a warm welcome after that? If I could, I would probably throw you out a window. First, you leave me out of nowhere at dinner and I forgive you. Then you forced me to sleep when I wanted to speak with you. I forgot how angry I was with you," Amelia muttered.
With Beth leaving, Leonard being in the castle and Lilith chasing Fraser, she forgot that she was a bit angry with her husband for the two stunts he pulled.
"I don’t know why I considered spending time with you tonight. I will be with Lilith, Gina, and Edith. You should find Alastor and someone else to have fun with," Amelia said, removing his hands from around her waist so she could leave.
"You are no different from the hellhounds when they are upset. I’m sure you would try ripping my face off if you could. I apologise-"
"You apologised for leaving me at dinner and I partially forgave you. You returned and sent me to sleep when I wanted to speak with you. Sometimes I don’t really like that you have all this power. You get to do as you like and then apologise."
"I didn’t like you disappearing on me at dinner and I get that I was freaking out learning about a child, but I swear," Amelia said, grabbing Killian’s shirt and pulling him toward her. "If you ever disappear on me without telling me a word or force me to sleep and don’t be in bed when I wake up the next morning, Lucifer is going to lose his favourite demon. Understood?"
Killian nodded his head, highly amused by Amelia’s aggressive side. To be scolded by Amelia made him feel like a husband.
"Why does it look like you are enjoying this?" Amelia asked, folding her arms as she took a step back. There were many times she could not understand the mind of the man she fell in love with.
"I am. I feel like a husband when you scold me," Killian shamelessly admitted. "Go on."
Amelia stared at Killian in disbelief. The only response she could have to what he said was to walk around him and go to their room.
"I apologise and this time I won’t ever do it again. I can find a weapon that might cause me a bit of pain so you can-"
"Knowing you, you would like me inflicting pain on you so that is out of the question. Do not leave me without a word to make me worry about you and do not force me to sleep unless I ask. There is an aching headache I have to deal with when you do that. As punishment, you will be alone tonight," Amelia said, slowly down to match his pace to walk beside him.
"I did not travel all the way here to not sleep with my wife tonight," Killian said, holding her hand to stop her from leaving his side.
"I was the one to suggest having a girl’s night with Lilith and I fear she might be let down if I cancel it because my husband is here," Amelia replied.
"So?" Killian questioned, not seeing why he had to care about Lilith’s feelings. The woman already spent more time with his wife than he did.
"I am confused. When I first met Lilith, it seemed like the two of you had a good friendship, but now it feels like you two take every opportunity to shove the other out of spending time with me. Or you are always taking jabs at each other. Like Lilith laughing at the fact you have not sensed our child. Do you sense it now?" Amelia asked, curious about whether there was any change.
"I don’t."
"Well, I have two theories. You are not as powerful as I thought you were or our child wishes to hide from you for some reason. I want to read more books about demon children so I am not shocked by anything new, but I am a bit scared to see that demon in the library. So," Amelia smiled, latching onto Killian’s arm. "Will you be a good husband and find time for me?"
"It feels like you are talking to me the same way you would talk to Loki. The demon in the library won’t harm you. Unless you make noise in the library. I have seen it rip to shreds-"
"Killian," Amelia said, squeezing his arm to get him to stop. "You are not helping me to not fear that demon. Now every time I blink, I see all of those eyes. If you truly love me, you should build a small library near our bedroom so I do not have to see that demon when I want to read a book. Not that there’s anything wrong with them," Amelia added in case the demon had some special ability to hear her from all the way in the north.
"Which castle would that be? Are we staying in this castle permanently until there is an heir or coming and going from the north? Where will we reside when this is all over?" Killian asked.
"It would be fitting for us to settle down near the border if we are to have one child ruling the Blackwell kingdom and one ruling the north. When one of them acts a fool, we will be right in the middle to make a quick visit to hit them over the head. I pray that we can raise our children well for them to be good rulers. I’d hate to have to pull them off the throne for acting like Fraser," Amelia said.
It would be hard to look them in the eyes and tell them that the throne no longer belonged to them, but it would need to be done. She did not want to be like Beth or Margaret who let their sons continue to sit on the throne when they weren’t good kings.
"That is why we should have a few twenty children or so in case there are some rotten apples," Killian suggested, toying with Amelia’s hair as they walked.
Amelia stopped walking and stared at Killian who smiled. "A few? What part of twenty is a few?"
