Chapter 310: Chapter 310

"Lilith," Amelia sighed.

"Sorry. I just couldn’t miss the chance to enjoy that he has not yet sensed his own child. No one else seems to notice or your guards would be on your ass to keep you safe. This just proves that I am good at knowing when there is a child coming into this world. You and Killian should prepare gifts to thank me. I like gold on my hands," Lilith said, sticking out her hands.

"There will be no gifts for you. Aren’t we supposed to be the ones receiving? And why don’t you speak about your children?" Amelia questioned, taking the moment to get her answers.

"Well, you have never asked if I have any and even then I would have said that I don’t have children. They are all such headaches honestly. Having children with the devil led me to have so many white hairs on my head from the stress. Lucifer had to capture a few of them and put them to sleep," Lilith revealed.

It had been long since she visited a few in fear that she would wake them out of their slumber and the others had flown around the underworld to set up their homes. They would occasionally visit her and create awkward dinners.

"Is having a child for a demon bad? Will I have to lock away any of my children?" Amelia asked, leaning back on the wall to help her stand up.

"I mean, it is often said that demon children are worse than their parents, but it is not like demons like to stop their children from causing trouble. The other Gods weren’t exactly happy with Lucifer having children and spoke of how they would turn out. They are pieces of the devil so there is power and urges some can’t control so we put them to sleep. It wasn’t easy," Lilith said as it meant she could not see them.

"I don’t like to bring up my children since I have to talk about what they suffered. I am still surprised that they love me despite all the hard decisions I had to make about them. I am patiently waiting for the day they all wake up. I doubt you and Killian will need to worry about putting your children to rest. They will grow up among humans and I am not saying this to please you, but you will make a better mother than I did to help your children get used to being a demon."

Lilith loved her children, but she could admit she wasn’t as motherly as she should be. She wasn’t when she was human and she wasn’t as a demon. She was never shown what a mother’s love was when she was human like Amelia. She might not have picked being an assassin if she did.

"Why are you so worried when the child is not here yet? Killian will know what needs to be done when the child is here. He will get a feel of the power and since you are human, your child might act as one until their power grows. Do not worry, Amelia. I will be around to offer you advice since I have given birth to many children. Trust me," Lilith said.

"How long does it last? Being pregnant?" Amelia questioned since it was her second concern with the child being noticed already.

"Seven months, but if you feed it many souls it will grow faster, so six or five months. Luckily for you, I am able to bring you a lot of souls from the underworld. Your child will be here in no time. It would be good if I fed you enough to have it here tomorrow-"

"No!" Amelia exclaimed, holding up her hand to stop Lilith there. "It is already a task to wrap my head around being pregnant so early in my marriage. I do not want to experience bringing a child into this world tomorrow. Please be normal and grow slowly," Amelia said, touching her stomach.

"You should have kept yourself off of Killian then. I mean, what kind of child did you think the two of you would have when you were sleeping with him or were you always so lost in the moment of him-"

"Lilith, please do not go any further. I know that you have quite the mind to describe what you think Killian and I do. I don’t want to think about how I might have gotten myself pregnant," Amelia said, grimacing at the thought of which time did the job.

"Oh come on. We are friends here. We should be able to talk about things like this and get advice from each other. I have never had a friend like you and from what I see, you only have your maid to speak to. And Edith of course, but it would be nice to have a queen to talk about more private things too. We are friends, right? We haven’t exactly made that clear," Lilith replied, hoping she had not given herself the title when Amelia didn’t see her as a friend.

Amelia pushed herself off the wall and walked to the bed beside Lilith. "Of course we are friends. I didn’t think I had to ask you if you wanted to be my friend. You are right that I don’t have any friends. The young ladies who used to come to the castle in the past were all selected by the court to be my friends. They only cared about me being a princess."

"I avoided them as much as I could. I did make a few friends at the orphanage my mother looked after, but I wasn’t allowed to visit it as much as my mother so I can’t really call them my friends now. So I have Gina, Edith, and you. Each with your ways to help me feel normal. Even when you are trying to get me to leave my husband for you. Thank you for joining my small group of friends-"

"My apologies for hugging you without warning, but you cannot say something so sweet and not expect me to hug you. You are the first human woman friend that I have had in my life. Why couldn’t you have been born around that time? It would have made me happy. I hope this means that I can call myself the aunty of this child because I will even if Killian does not like it. Tell me if I am being too rough with you," Lilith mumbled against Amelia’s shoulder.

"I must try not to cry too much since it might summon my husband and it won’t look too good for you to have a gate to the underworld in the middle of this room. I happen to like the fur on the floor."

"It is nice and soft. I am going to go out of my way to make this experience so much better than my own. Especially with Killian being far away. Once we are finished judging your people today, we should get Gina and Edith to join us for a bit of woman talk. I always wanted to do it with someone other than Lucifer," said Lilith.

Amelia’s smile fell as thought about what woman talk Lilith could have with Lucifer. As many demon women as there were in the underworld, she had to turn to Lucifer.

"You know what Lilith, I will have the cook prepare something special for us and have dresses delivered to a room so we can do this right. We’ll make up for the experiences we lost in our youth now and if there is ever something you want to talk about that you think would suit me more than Lucifer, I am always free to talk. When I am not dealing with two kingdoms of course," Amelia said as she pulled away.

"Two kingdoms and your child. Don’t be a bad parent like Killian."
