The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 291

Chapter 291: Chapter 291

Fraser stood in silence, watching Amelia continue to disrespect him by sitting on his throne as if she owned it. She kept talking to the single female guard that stayed behind while the others brought in men of the court and even Margaret.

He failed to get used to the fact that demons were real. This felt like one terrible nightmare that someone needed to shake him out of soon. He had to be sleeping. Morning had not come yet and since he was in deep sleep, his mother would soon come to shake him out of his sleep and he would be back to the world he liked.

"Fraser!" Beth’s cries filled the throne room. She rushed to Fraser to hug him. When northern guards came and pulled her out of her room, she first assumed that Fraser was dead. No one would answer her questions about her son. "You are alright," she cried, relieved to see him still standing in one piece.

Her heart could finally calm down. She thought she had prepared herself to lose Fraser after their last conversation, but she was wrong. Beth was not ready to lose her son. No mother should ever face burying their child. If needed, she would offer her life in exchange for Fraser being left alone. She had to make up for pushing him to become king.

Fraser said nothing as his mother embraced him. Her hug felt real and seeing her confirmed that this was not a nightmare, but reality. Amelia really was sitting on his throne and demons were roaming the castle. ’Then Killian,’ his eyes widened.

He had been talking as he liked to Amelia around Killian and he had not helped to find the northerners. It was evident that Killian did not like him. His saving grace might have been the truce, but he ruined that. Each chance he got, he ruined it.

Beth palmed Fraser’s face, worried about him not responding to her or hugging her back. She hoped now he was finally seeing why he should have listened to her. Why there needed to be planning instead of acting on emotions. They could have been ready for this if Fraser would have taken her advice.

"Fraser, please speak to me," Beth pleaded with him.

"Demons," Fraser said. It was all he could think of now.

Beth inspected the throne room. She was taken aback by the sight of a man with white hair and bright red eyes. Then the guards around Amelia also changed their appearance. It was always said that the North had many secrets that would one day shock them, but she never thought it would be this.

Her eyes then went to Amelia sitting on the throne with confidence just like every ruler who sat on it before her. What was Amelia doing if these were in fact demons? The temple has always warned them to stay away from evil, but Amelia casually spoke to them. She slept with one. Had the kingdom sealed its fate when they sent Amelia off to marry Killian?

"We will be fine," Beth reassured Fraser. She didn’t know how she would get them out of there safely, but she would find a way. If they could somehow make it to the temple, they might be safe.

Creatures like this should not make it inside the place protected by the Gods. They should burn like the priests said all evil would.

If trying to escape to the temple failed, Beth would try reasoning with Amelia. She had done nothing wrong to Amelia, to be forced to stay here. It was the men of the court who Amelia should be after. Beth would take Fraser far away, so Amelia would not have to worry about the throne being taken away.

"Why is Margaret not standing with Amelia?" Beth asked.

It was odd for the two of them not to be together when Amelia was finally sitting on the throne.

"They can hear us speak. They will tell Amelia what you said," Fraser warned his mother. He knew demons could hear him because the demon who had called out his fears kept smiling whenever he muttered something.

Fraser avoided looking in Agramon’s direction since each time he did, the demon would smile at him. He was on the verge of peeing himself if this continued. He tried not to so Amelia would not know she had him this scared.

"We will- Did you hear that?" Beth asked, looking up at the ceiling of the throne room. It was faint, but for a second, she thought she heard someone laughing. She saw nothing there and thought her mind was playing tricks on her until she heard it again. "There is someone laughing."

Amelia looked up at the ceiling of the throne room, where sounds of people laughing or chanting something were heard. She could only assume that the demons, who could fly, had finally made it out of the underworld and down the mountain to follow her command.

"You have a nice home," Lilith said, entering the opened doors of the throne room with Sadie behind her. She had been eager to see what the Blackwell castle was like up close and became excited when Killian decided to start the plan early.

Lilith made the demons that followed her wait on the outside so she could hear what Amelia wanted to do next. Her husband had already left to take over the neighbouring kingdom.

Amelia looked down from the ceiling at Lilith. Now that Lilith was here, she could stop worrying about Agramon. "When this is all over, I can give you a tour and show you the places I have enjoyed over the years. I hope your trip down the mountain wasn’t bad."

"Not at all. It was fun to fly around. I’m sure you can hear the others on the outside, excited to be out of the underworld. I’ve warned them to be on their best behaviour or I will push them back into the underworld. Maybe feed them to a hellhound or two. Now, where is the king?" Lilith asked, looking around for the current king. "Is he not here?"

There was no one around who looked like they would be the king. Lilith feared she might have missed Amelia getting rid of her cousin.

"Where are your family?" Lilith inquired, wanting to see if they were just as alluring as Amelia.

Amelia smiled, entertained by the fact that Lilith stood near Fraser, who was the most overdressed person in the room, and yet she could not point him out as king. Fraser wore his wealth on his body to show off that he was the king. The money would have been better spent if it had been given to the people.

"The king is to your right, Lilith. He stands with my aunt and to your left, is my grandmother. That is all the family I have in the castle right now. The others live all over the kingdom and rarely enter the castle. It was my father’s doing, so he would not worry about those with Blackwell blood looking to fight him for the throne. Would you like me to introduce you, or would you prefer to do it yourself?" Amelia asked, hoping it was the latter.

Amelia kept her eyes on Margaret, who looked just as confused as the men in the court who stood with her. She relished in her grandmother’s coming to know that the devil’s wife stood in the Blackwell castle and there was nothing to be done about it.

"I would like to introduce myself. So you are the king," Lilith smiled as she gazed at Fraser. He was nothing more than a simple, scrawny boy dressed in his father’s clothes. How could he possibly be a king?

She was disappointed with his appearance. He did not tempt her like Amelia did. Lilith was looking to have some fun in the castle while she was away from Lucifer, but this visit was not off to a good start. If not for Amelia being here and her wanting to see how humans were doing, she would fly back to go into the underworld.

Beth stepped in front of Fraser to protect him from the strange woman. Right now, anyone who was close to Amelia was a threat to her and Fraser. "Who are you?" She found the courage to ask.

"Someone who would not be stopped by you stepping in front of me. Get out of the way so I can meet the king. I will speak with you when I am finished with the king. Don’t you know not to get in the way of two royals speaking?" Lilith asked, annoyed by the overprotective mother. It wasn’t like she was going to kill the king. It was simply an introduction.

Beth couldn’t piece together how the person standing before her could be royalty. She had only heard of Killian in the north, and this woman did not look like she could be a relative of his. "I said, who are you?" She repeated.

"My oh my. Humans are still bold. I am Lilith, bride of Lucifer or as many might call him, the devil," Lilith ended with a smile.
