The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 274

Chapter 274: Chapter 274

Amelia wanted to reject the invitation, but it was hard to turn away an invitation to the temple. She had not seen Killian enter the temple the last time he was here because it did not interest him or he simply could not enter it. A demon would want nothing to do with a temple since there might be holy water. To Amelia’s surprise, Killian accepted the invitation.

"Amelia and I will stop by the temple tomorrow before I leave. I am sure your priests would love to properly pray for our marriage. After breakfast should be a good time," Killian suggested.

"It would not be a good look for you to run away before that time," Margaret warned as she expected him to try getting out of the meeting in the temple. At the same time the priest would trap Killian in the temple, she would make a move to get Fraser off the throne and have it ready for Amelia to take her rightful seat.

Margaret was angry with Amelia’s actions, but she knew sooner or later, Amelia would come around and realise that she should leave Killian’s side to take the Blackwell throne. There would be no place for any demon on Blackwell land once the priest would be finished making their weapons and the others travelling here to help would arrive.

Once the demons around the Blackwell kingdom were taken care of, they would start making their way up to the north to get rid of the demons there.

"I am not one to run away. We shall be there right after breakfast. There is something that I want to speak to you and the priest about. Make sure you are all there," Killian said, picking up another grape to eat.

Amelia now switched to worrying for the priest. Killian was clearly not over what she said about their marriage and future children. She had no idea what he planned to do tomorrow before he had to leave, but she had a feeling that the temple might not look the same as it did now when Killian and her grandmother would meet.

Amelia sighed, not wanting to focus on what Margaret or Killian was planning. She reached out for the red wine to drink, but stopped when she touched the bottle. Amelia bit her lip as she thought over something, and then she decided to drink juice or water instead. Whatever she could get her hands on the fastest.

Fraser, who was watching Amelia, noticed this and couldn’t resist asking, "Do you fear you are with child, cousin? Or is our wine no longer suited to your taste? Have you experienced something better in the north?"

"I am just not in the mood to drink," Amelia answered. Why would she reveal to Fraser of all people that she was looking to have a child with Killian? So he could plot to harm her? "Killian and I have not been married for long. There is no way we could possibly look to have a child yet. How is your search for a queen going? I am sure many long ladies have been lining up to be your wife."

Fraser looked at his mother and then at Margaret who was slowly down him taking a queen. He didn’t mind it at first since he wanted to enjoy his throne alone, but now he was in need of a wife. Someone to show off had taken Amelia’s seat as queen and started making heirs so his name would be carried on for generations.

"It is a slow process. As a man, I have the freedom to take my time to find a wife. I am a king without needing to get married. While you stay here, you should join me in judging the young women who will arrive. It will take your mind off Killian not being here. Why are they taking so long with the food? We need to eat," Fraser said.

Fraser wanted dinner to be over with soon so he could get back to plotting for tomorrow. When he would have Killian’s head at his gates to show off his first victory as king.

The maids drew closer to the table to start serving the food.

Amelia welcomed the peace and quiet that should come from everyone eating, but there was no time for peace as the sound of someone entering the dining hall was heard.

"I am sorry to be late. Looks like I came right on time before the food could be served. It took a little longer than I anticipated to get dressed. Amelia," Annabelle stopped to look at the younger princess. It felt like years since she had seen Amelia, but it had not been that long. "Welcome back," she said, taking her seat beside Margaret who did not look happy to see her.

Margaret should have known that Annabelle would have never missed this reunion.

Amelia looked at Annabelle’s stomach which was bigger than the last time she saw Annabelle. She couldn’t help but wonder why Annabelle was pretending to be with a child. The first chance she got, she should have left the castle.

Those who followed Fraser would try to harm Annabelle not knowing there was not a child and those who wanted to support someone other than Fraser would care for Annabelle, but once they would learn that she was fooling them, she was pretty much dead. Annabelle had no one to lean on in the castle and if she thought Margaret would keep her safe forever, she was more of a fool than Amelia thought.

Annabelle kept her eyes on the couple before her, still jealous that Amelia had got her hands on such a handsome while she had to share a bed with Richard who was not young like Killian. It was quite unfair how she ended up when it was not long ago she was taunting Amelia about carrying the future king.

"What is this madness?" Fraser spoke up, angered by the sight of Annabelle. She was not royalty and she was not to be here in the castle. "Leave us and go to the home I have provided for you."

Annabelle smiled since Fraser could not order her around with Margaret protecting her. "The temple has said that it s best for me to stay here-"

"Go," Margaret said, agreeing with Fraser now that she didn’t need Annabelle to pretend to be pregnant. Amelia was back, so there was no use for Annabelle.

Annabelle turned to Margaret, who had not told her she would need to leave. "What are you doing? Is there a change in our plans?" She whispered.

It wasn’t that long ago that Margaret told her she would not be leaving the castle. The only reason she made no attempt to grab as much gold as she could and run away from the castle was because of Margaret’s promises.

Margaret grew tired of hearing her son’s former mistress speak to her so casually. If not for the fact that she wanted to make use of Annabelle’s child to argue that there was someone else the throne rightfully belonged to, she would have exposed the loss of Annabelle’s child already.
