The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 272

Chapter 272: Chapter 272

"Red."

Amelia looked up from Gina fixing her dress to Killian who now sat on her bed. She had been waiting for him but no one was able to bring him to her until now. "I thought it would help with the dramatic entrance I plan to make. Lucifer said that red looks good on royalty."

Killian wasn’t surprised to hear that Lucifer suggested red. The devil had an unhealthy obsession with red. "It does suit you. You look beautiful. You will have some heads turning," he said, his eyes going straight to her chest which was not tied tightly now that she was back here.

Killian dared anyone to take a look at her even for a second. He could do with a fresh soul in place of the food to be served for dinner. "You were looking for me," he said.

"I was. Please excuse us," Amelia said to everyone present in their room. She needed to have a private conversation with Killian before dinner. She was confused about Margaret and hoped that somehow, Killian would make sense of what was happening.

Gina and Edith exited the room and stood outside with the other demons who were following both Killian and Amelia.

"I spoke with my grandmother and that did not go so well. Before we got married, the two of you at least seemed cordial. Someone with the blood of the priests made no attempt to kill you and you were intrigued by her so she did not receive the anger you held for my father and grandfather. Did something happen between the two of you that I am not aware of?" Amelia asked, going to the bed to sit down beside Killian.

"Nothing happened between us other than the usual threats for me to keep you safe. Now I see that she doesn’t like me around. It doesn’t bother me," Killian said, holding her hand. She did happen to look wonderful in the red dress. It would be fun to take it off later.

"She sees no need for me to be married to you now that I am back here. She is planning something to get Fraser off the throne and for me to sit on it," Amelia revealed, stopping her to hear his thoughts before she told him the other things.

The last thing she needed was for her husband and grandmother to be trying to kill each other, but right now, it seemed like something she could not avoid happening. Amelia would have never imagined that her grandmother still had this much hatred for demons. What would her grandmother do if she were to find out that she planned to become a demon so she could live long beside Kilian and their future children?

Killian wasn’t too happy with anyone trying to sway Amelia from their marriage. Even if that person was her grandmother. "I see," he replied.

Amelia wasn’t expecting such a simple response. She thought he would have gotten angry with what she said. What happened to the whole not letting her go thing? "Just I see? Nothing more?" She asked. She wanted him to get as angry as she was.

"What else was I to say? I am not pleased by it, but the only reason I would get angry is if your answer were not what I expected. What did you say to her??" Killian asked, his eyes turning ruby red without him noticing.

Killian trusted that Amelia loved him enough to put Margaret in her place and state that she would never leave him.

"I said that I would not leave you obviously. Did you doubt my answer?" Amelia hoped that was not the case. Just because Margaret wanted her to leave him did not mean that she would easily follow her grandmother’s wishes. She had a mind of her own and since she was willing to become a demon to stay with him longer, he should know her answer already.

"No, I simply knew that I had nothing to worry about. You love me and I love you. Someone telling either one of us to end our marriage is nothing for us to waste energy over," said Killian.

"You handled that better than I thought. I guess the baby thing would be what upset-Ow!" Amelia winced after Killian squeezed her hand.

"What baby thing?" Killian asked, confused by the mention of a baby when he could not sense one inside of her. He was good at seeing when human women had a child inside of them. There was something different about their soul and some demons might say they smelled sweeter because of the innocent child growing inside them.

He was not intimate with Amelia long enough for her to be pregnant, but demon children were strange.

"What would a priest do to someone who became pregnant by a demon? Especially if that person carried their blood and they thought she was special?" Amelia softly asked. She wasn’t looking for an answer to her questions from Killian. With the books she had read in the library, she had a pretty good idea of what would happen to her. A cleanse as the priest called it.

This cleanse would be painful since they had to wash away all of Killian’s touch from her and make her pure. Amelia had not read too much about it since it was more of a torture in her eyes and she did not want to picture it happening to herself.

"Grandmother says there is some prophecy about me being the key to killing demons because she knew that I am a golden child. My father went to a witch when I was young and my grandmother found out about it. I believe they have only heard that I could bring peace to the world. Not the part about chaos and they must’ve twisted that peace to be me getting rid of demons. I don’t want any part of it," said Amelia.

Hearing this changed things for Killian. He planned to ignore the small games Margaret was playing, but not only had she told Amelia to end their marriage, but Margaret was also bold enough to mention getting rid of their child should they have one.

Killian had waited too long for his offspring and looked forward to having children with Amelia for anyone to threaten to take it away from him.

Killian licked his lips. There were plenty of souls he intended to eat right now and they were all in the temple. The foolish place they thought he could not enter. He was going to show mercy because of their relationship with Amelia, but that was now out the window. It would be better to get rid of the priests now so he could get rid of the weapons they made in the early.

"This wasn’t the reunion with your grandmother you were looking forward to," Killian said, loosening his hold on Amelia’s hand. Though he was angry, he had to stay calm to listen to Amelia vent. It might have felt like cold water was thrown on her to hear her own grandmother say those words.

"No it was not," Amelia agreed.

She looked forward to telling Margaret about the people she met and what life in the north was like. How she was adapting to being queen and how she had grown feelings for Killian. Amelia wanted to talk about her mother to see what more Margaret knew about where her mother came from.

"Dinner is going to be more of a headache now that grandmother and I are not on good terms. If Fraser or anyone else notices it, they will certainly bring it up. I don’t want to be answering what is wrong between me and grandmother," Amelia sighed, feeling tired all of a sudden. "Why did we try to get here before dinner? We should have come tomorrow morning."

"What would that have changed?" Killian asked, letting go of her hand so he could lose his fingers in her hair.

"Well, I wouldn’t have to think about this when I want to be asleep and the gates would open shortly after so there wouldn’t be much of a conversation between me and grandmother. I suppose it is good that I spoke to her now so I am aware I must keep you far away from priests in the meantime. Killian!" Amelia gasped, reaching out to hold onto him as they fell back onto the softness of her bed. "My hair. Gina worked really hard on it with so little time."

Killian laid on his side to get a good look at her. "You still look beautiful. It is no wonder why so many envy you. Why are you turning your head away to hide your blush? It is a beautiful sight you should not hide from me. Amelia," Killian said, using his hand to turn her head to face him. "They will not hurt me if that is what worries you. You should worry about what will happen to your grandmother and those priests for angering me."
