The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 269
Chapter 269: Chapter 269
Amelia contemplated if she truly wanted to deal with Fraser trying to show off that he was king of this castle as if she were not a queen. He could have greeted them and then come back to sit on the throne. She wasn’t jealous or angry, like he wanted her to be. All she thought about was the fact that he was a fool.
"It is good to see that you are back at home, cousin," Fraser said, his eyes fixated on Amelia and the crown she wore. It was smaller compared to the one he wore on his head, and the jewels Amelia had could not compare to his own.
"It is somewhat good to see you, Fraser-"
"It is King Fraser now," Fraser corrected her.
"Then respect is owed to her by addressing her as Queen Amelia. She is still my wife and queen of the north, you fool. Do not anger me already," said Killian. He could pull the small fool off the throne and kill him right now, or better yet, have him watch Amelia take a seat on the throne before killing him. He had many ways in mind for how he could torture Fraser.
Beth gave Fraser a look, warning him not to act a fool before Killian. She gave him a lengthy talk about what not to do, and Fraser had already ignored it. He was to address Amelia as Queen of the North. This wasn’t a simple fight between cousins anymore. They were two rulers, and any conflict could lead to a war they were not ready for.
Killian had once attacked Fraser for disrespecting Amelia, and it had caused the truce not to happen. If Killian were to attack Fraser now, Beth knew she would lose her son. She wasn’t being hard on Fraser for no reason, as he thought. She wished he had listened to her and trained more because he could not defend himself against Killian.
"My mistake. I only wanted to show off the title that I have now. We don’t need to use our titles amongst each other since we are family," Fraser said, trying his best not to look at Killian. He had not forgotten how Killian had embarrassed him, but he had something planned for Killian, who thought he was untouchable. "I hope the trip down the mountain wasn’t too bad. I am surprised you made it here in a day’s time since the mountain is so far away. You must have left early in the morning."
"We left before the sun went up in the sky and didn’t make any stops. We hoped to get here before dinner. Luckily we did," said Amelia.
"Well, I won’t keep you too long since you need to rest and get prepared for dinner. I had my mother arrange your room to be able to fit the two of you, and your guests shall have rooms near the servants’ quarters or outside. Whichever suits the northern-" Fraser bit his lip to refrain from saying northern dogs. It was a habit he could not get rid of.
He would rather the people Amelia and Killian brought to be placed outside. It would be no different than how they lived in the North. Like animals.
"We will get ready for dinner as fast as we can and meet in the hall. All talk about our two kingdoms should be left for tomorrow when members of the court will be here. I’m afraid I must announce now that my husband will not be joining me for my entire stay here. He must return to the north tomorrow evening. I will stay a little longer since I have been missing home," Amelia said, watching how the corners of Fraser’s mouth lifted.
"Is that so? Well, there will be no need for Killian to worry about you. We shall take care of our former princess while he is in the north. You are dismissed to get ready for dinner," Fraser shooed them away. There was much to plan before Killian was supposed to leave tomorrow.
Amelia curtsied and held Killian’s hand so they could walk together. She smiled at Beth when their eyes met as she turned to leave. "Did I do well?" She whispered to Killian when they got a good distance away from Beth.
"You did well," Killian said, squeezing her hand. Amelia mentioning he would be leaving tomorrow would start Fraser planning to try to kill him before then.
Killian was returning to the north tomorrow evening because it was decided that would be the time when the underworld gates would open. Lucifer and his many followers had become restless, and since Lucifer had to go back down into the underworld, it was time.
Now that Amelia was here in the Blackwell castle, she would lead the demons Killian had placed under her command, and soon, Lilith and Sadie would be flying down the mountain.
Killian wanted some fun with Fraser first. To have him think that they were trapped in this castle and he would get to kill Killian.
"Amelia," Margaret said, stopping the two from leaving without her. It was like Amelia had forgotten that she was here. "I need to speak with you."
"We’re supposed to be getting ready for dinner. I will have to wear this and soak after dinner," Amelia replied, looking down at the dress she was wearing now. She wanted to soak in water and wear a new dress, but there was much her grandmother must have wanted to tell her. "Or do you want to come to our room while we get-"
"I wish to speak with you alone, child," Margaret said. Why was it so hard for Amelia to come to her?
Amelia bit her tongue as she tried to understand why Margaret needed to sound so angry. Killian was now her husband, so anything Margaret wanted to say to her could be said around Killian. Especially if it concerned the Blackwell castle. She would just end up telling Killian what was said.
"Take our room to get dressed. I will find somewhere else to get dressed and then I will meet you at dinner. Keep your guard near," Killian said, letting go of Amelia’s hand to settle the issue.
"There is another room in my wing of the castle that should not have anyone in it. Gina, please take Killian there, and if the room is taken, return to ask my aunt for help. I will see you shortly," Amelia said, tiptoeing to kiss Killian on his right cheek. "Let us go," she said to Margaret.
Killian stared at Margaret, who gave him a strange look, before walking behind Amelia. He didn’t know what it was about, nor did he care. He had gotten close enough to Amelia, for her not to be swayed by her grandmother’s words.
Amelia looked over her shoulder at Edith and the two other guards. "That came off as a bit rude, grandmother. What is it that you have to say that Killian cannot hear? You know that if he wanted to, he would be able to listen to our conversation no matter where he is, right?"
Margaret held onto Amelia’s left arm. "How many times has he slept with you? Is it enough that you might be carrying his child?"
If Amelia had been drinking or eating something, she would have been choking right now. "T-That is not something I want to discuss with anyone. It is too soon to know if I am pregnant."
"Good. You’ve done your part in doing what was said you needed to do. My little child of the Gods. I do not know how, but your union with Killian will bring about a change for demons. You no longer need to be his wife. I have planned enough for you to take this throne as it always should have happened-"
"What?" Amelia asked, pulling her hand away from Margaret. She looked behind them at Edith and the other guards, who did not react to Margaret’s words. They should be furious to hear anyone say she should abandon their king. "Grandmother, do you have a spell from a witch?"
