Chapter 261: Chapter 261

"How kind of the king and queen to finally make an appearance. I’ve been wanting to speak to the two of you for some time now, but I didn’t feel either of your presence in the castle. Where did you go?" Lucifer asked, sitting with one leg placed over the other at the large dining table.

He was starting to hate this union between Amelia and Killian Before Amelia, Killian would always be nearby when Lucifer wanted to speak with him. Now Lucifer had to compete with Amelia for Killian’s time.

"Mind your business," Killian answered as he helped Amelia to her seat.

"Is she pregnant?" Lucifer asked.

Amelia froze before she could sit down. Did she seem pregnant? How? Killian and she weren’t sleeping with each other that long for there to be signs, but this was the devil asking her if she is pregnant.

"She is not," Killian replied, wanting Lucifer to end these questions. "Is your wife pregnant?"

"We wouldn’t be here if she was. I just asked since it looks like Amelia cannot sit on her own. How did you train Killian to act like such a gentleman? Normally he is such a brute. He has been serving me for hundreds of years but never once pulled out my chair for me."

"Please tell me how you trained Killian so I can train Lucifer. You used to pull out my chair for me, but the long years we have been married seemed to have changed you. I might need to get rid of you," Lilith smiled, teasing Lucifer so she could see him be riled up. She liked seeing Lucifer jealous.

Lucifer welcomed the challenge for Lilith to find a man better than him. She could search high and low or even among the other Gods and would end up coming back to him. "Go on and try finding a man better than me," he replied.

"Man?" Lilith looked at Amelia. "These days my interest is changing. Whenever you grow bored of Killian, remember that I am always here to comfort you."

"Well um," Amelia became stumped as she didn’t know how to take Lilith’s interest. She admired Lilith, but it was certainly not like this. "I don’t think I will grow bored of Killian. Just as I entertain him, he is the same for me."

"Careful Amelia," Lucifer warned as Killian was enjoying her words a bit too much. "You’re going to make Killian feel too full of himself. Is this all who will be attending dinner?"

At the table were Lucifer, Lilith, Killian, Amelia, Samuel, Alastor, Vaya, Gabriel, and Sadie.

"Where are the others? Even Agramon is missing. This world has made them act out of order. On the bright side, we can have a peaceful dinner. As if we are a normal family," Lucifer smiled, while everyone else in the room besides Lilith frowned.

’How is this man the feared devil?’ Amelia wondered, still feeling like this was some sort of lie and that the real devil was somewhere in the underworld.

"As a big happy family, we should ask each other questions. Starting first with Amelia. Where did you and Killian go so that I could not find the two of you?" Lucifer asked, going back to what interested him the most when Killian and Amelia entered the dining hall. He was starting to get the feeling that the two of them would leave the castle when they wanted to fool around.

Killian moved to pick up a fork, but Amelia placed her hand over his to calm him. "We flew around a bit to have a moment alone and then returned to our room."

Lucifer tilted his head as he read Amelia. "You mixed a lie with a truth. Smart girl," he applauded her. It was a smart move when surrounded by demons who could sense when she was lying. "I am back to liking you again."

Amelia frowned. "When did you stop liking me?"

"When you started to mess with me not being able to call upon Killian when I want. I don’t like my things being stolen from me. I have much that I need to ask Killian, but he is always chasing after you. Make that stop while I am here. We have important things to discuss."

"Like opening the gates of the underworld for demons to come out? I’ve been looking forward to dinner for when this would be brought up. It’s a shame I had to be the one to do it," said Amelia.

Lucifer looked away from Amelia to Killian. "I thought you did not want to tell her about it yet."

"Someone else let it slip," Killian sighed.

"Well, I prefer that it is all out in the open and there is nothing to hide. Are you angry that we will ruin the world as you know it?" Lucifer questioned, wanting to hear how a human would take what will happen.

"I don’t know how to explain what I feel, but angry isn’t the word. I would like to ask that you wouldn’t let so many innocent people die, but you are all demons. Why would you care about anyone else but your own? If you expect that I will sit here and try to beg you to stop, I won’t. Who am I to get in the way of the devil’s plans?" Amelia replied, surprising Lucifer and Lilith.

"However, though I am the queen of the north, there is still Blackwell blood running through me. I ask that you let me lead some of your demons and take care of the Blackwell castle myself. There is some business there that I must take care of," Amelia said.

By doing this, she would get to control how much damage was done to the land she still called home. Get to shield it from the chaos the rest of the world would experience. Amelia did not want her child to sit on the throne of a ruined kingdom. She became Amelia Bune, but she always felt the urge to protect the Blackwells. Fraser certainly could not do it.

Amelia also thought about the fact that if she wasn’t the one to lead the demons, she could not stop her grandmother and the priests from getting involved. Amelia knew they had the weapons to put up a good fight against demons, but she did not want Margaret to be involved.

She would protect the innocent in the Blackwell kingdom and let the demons feast on those who hurt the innocent. If the priests wanted to leave the kingdom to protect others, then so be it.

Lucifer could tell from Killian’s face that Amelia had not told him about this. "Very well. Count this as my wedding gift to you. I might take well to you now, but ruin my plans, and that will change quickly."
