The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 249

Chapter 249: Chapter 249

Amelia folded her lips to stop herself from talking. She had a feeling that by the time she was finished reading her books, she was going to see what the demon here looked like and she would most definitely pass out from the fright.

She looked around to see if Edith was near, but realized the library seemed to have gotten darker and the only light seemed to be on her and the table she was using. There was something odd about the library, but she certainly was not going to ask the librarian about it.

Amelia went back to looking at the book she could now understand. The librarian was scary but their ability to change the language so easily was fascinating. They would be useful for when she and Killian had to meet with any other royalty who spoke a different language or she could send them to scare Fraser who could never be quiet for long.

’This necklace,’ Amelia traced the outline of the drawing with her finger. She had seen it before. The first thought was Lilith since it had something to do with demons, but she could not place seeing Lilith with it. It was someone else.

’It’s called the blood diamond necklace. The blood diamond has a special effect to glow when it is near pure vampire royalty. The blood diamonds are rare and guarded by vampire royalty to test on anyone who claims to be from the special lineage. If the diamond does not glow in the presence of someone claiming to be royalty, they are beheaded and their body burned afterwards. Don’t tell me I have been around vampires,’ Amelia sighed.

She continued to stare at the necklace, trying to place it where she had seen it. "Grandmother?" She muttered.

Amelia remembered the faint memories of when she would visit her grandmother’s room and dress up with her. Margaret would have all kinds of things to wear. "Is it the same?" Amelia whispered.

Amelia was certain she had seen this before. A long time ago, not recently. "It will come to me when I least expect," she said, moving on to something else. Amelia flipped the page and saw a fountain. "This isn’t a book just about demons," she said, turning the book so she could see what the title was now that she could read it. "Wonders of the world," she read.

"This is what humans call the fountain of youth. Drink it and you shall keep your youth for as long as you live. There are some cases when the fountain gives those who drink immortality. My last trip to find the fountain showed that the water was all dried up or perhaps someone had stolen it. Placing more water instead did not grant one youth. This was written by Samuel," Amelie said, placing her index finger where his name was placed.

Amelia flipped the page again. "Holy water. A nasty weapon was given to humans. It was once mistaken for the fountain of youth. A low creature went to drink from it and dropped dead. The humans guard the fountain with holy water to protect themselves. Making weapons with water mixed inside. Grandmother must know where this holy water is. The weapons she gave me have to be mixed with it," Amelia said.

Amelia quickly flipped through the pages of the book as finding out more about the priests and the different kinds of demons was her goal for today. Amelia closed the book and moved on to another. This time, it showed drawings of animals which resided in the underworld. Amelia closed the book for now since she had seen no animals that were odd here in the north yet. Whenever she wanted to go into the underworld, she would come back to read about those animals.

"Finally," Amelia said as the next book showed drawings of demons. The first drawing of a demon was titled Lucifer. It looked nothing like Lucifer walking about the castle here. Instead, it looked like the image the temples in the Blackwell kingdom used to scare everyone about the devil.

The drawing of Lucifer showed him to be much bigger with large horns on his head. Amelia was thankful that Lucifer was walking around with a human appearance. She was thankful that almost everyone who lived in the castle had a human appearance. She needed to slowly get used to how different they were. Amelia had already become accustomed to the guests who walked around with their true demons form.

"What does Killian really look like?" Amelia wondered, flipping through the pages to see if there was a drawing for him. "There is none," Amelia sighed when she reached the end of the book. "At least not in this one. This is going to take the entire day," she said, looking at the shelves.

"I am ready," Amelia stood from her seat to get more books.

Meanwhile, Killian flew away from the castle. Amelia’s body healing on its own bothered him and he could not go another day without figuring out what she was.

Killian landed on the entrance to a cave. He kept his wings out as he walked inside.

"It’s been a long time since you’ve come to see me. I heard something odd about you. That you went and married a human," he heard a voice from the inside. "I hope that is not true. I told you to marry a high-ranking demon so your children would be powerful."

"I did marry, but I am starting to doubt that she is a normal human. If she is, there might be a spell from your kind on her. One to make her body heal. Show yourself, Sybil. I’d hate to think you’re hiding from me when we are such good friends," Killian said, taking a seat on a large rock.

Sybil chuckled. "I have no reason to hide from you. Since we are good friends, how about you let me take a piece of your wings? Only a small-"

"No," Killian gave the same answer he gave with every visit. Sybil wanted a piece of his wings for a spell.

"But you have so much that a missing piece will not bother you," Sybil said, appearing behind Killian to touch his wings. Before her fingers could touch them, they disappeared. "You still are a rude bastard. Isn’t marriage supposed to change you? How am I supposed to know if there is a spell on your wife or know if she is not human if you have not brought her? You are not as smart as before."

"I will bring her to you tonight. You must not try to harm Sybil. She will not be giving you a nail or even a strand of her hair," Killian replied.

Sybil frowned, frustrated with Killian wanting to keep their body parts to themselves. "You are no fun Killian. Look at me. I’ve already used one of my eyes for a spell."

Sybil walked around to be in front of Killian to show her appearance.

"And stole an eye from someone else," he commented on the eye which did not belong to her. "Does it work?"

"Not yet. I am almost finished with the spell that shall make it my eye. I don’t walk around with a patch over my eye. Stealing an eye and wearing it is much better. Although it does fall out sometimes. Why are you here right if you are coming with your wife later? What are you up to?" Sybil pointed her finger at Killian.

"I am over here," Killian said to Sybil who was now pointing at nothing. "Are sure you have not gone blind? I should go to another witch," he said.

Sybil panicked since she did not want Killian to leave. "No no no! There is no one to help you like me. I am not blind yet," she reassured him.

Sybil used spells that cost a part of her body because it came from dark magic. Her sight would soon leave her as one of the prices she had to pay. That was why she needed to make this other eye work. Her hands showed scales like a fish and the beautiful image of a young woman had deteriorated to make her look old.

The dark magic had revealed the creature she was and she could no longer walk among humans so she would stay here in this cave.

Killian sat back down as it was true no one could help him like Sybil. She was around for many years and was always able to pick up on spells made by other witches. "Have you ever heard the name Anne Blackwell?" He asked.

"Anne Blackwell. Anne Blackwell," Sybil repeated the name as she walked around in a circle.

The sound of something big hitting the floor was heard and then it started to drag.

Killian closed his eyes and tried not to get annoyed. "What spell could you have possibly tried doing to now have a tail?"

"Oh yes! She was the former Queen of those humans, wasn’t she? I never thought she would make it so far," Sybil turned around to go back to making her spell.

"She’s a witch?" Killian asked.

"Of course not! Some of my sisters found her as a child and instead of using her for sacrifices the fools raised her."
