The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 250
Chapter 250: Chapter 250
"How did witches meet her to end up raising her? Was she initially taken for one of their sacrifices?"
Sybil shook her head. "I’m told they heard crying near where they lived at the time. They rushed to take the child to cage her. Somehow those fools ended up feeding, clothing, and sheltering her. Raising her like she was a witch. Many of my sisters know about Anne. Something about her charmed them into liking her."
Sybil started to believe that Anne was secretly a witch all along to be able to charm her sisters. Even her.
Killian noted that despite Sybil not liking her sisters having raised a human it did not sound like Sybil hated Anne. "You cared for her," he said.
"I care for my frogs before I toss them in a boiling pot to help make my spells. I can always kill the things I care for without a second thought. That little girl was strange. She saw us for who we were and never got scared of us. She was more scared of being alone. Her parents died somehow. She never told us how. To think she became Queen," Sybil smiled. "I should have raised her to let witches take over."
"It is her daughter who I am married to. Amelia Blackwell, now known as Amelia Bune, Queen of the north," Killian revealed. He watched Sybil turn to him with a surprised look. "Your sources didn’t give my wife a name?"
"Her daughter ended up with a demon? My oh my. Anne must be furious," said Sybil. Anne was always scared to tell anyone about her connection to witches.
"Anna Blackwell is dead. Everyone should know that by now. It has been two years-"
Sybil’s laughter interrupted Killian. "So they believe. Do you think witches who dabble in all kinds of dark and black magic would not bring Anne back to life? My sisters were hellbent on killing the person who made Anne suffer."
"Anne is alive?" Killian asked, the disbelief evident in his tone. He was starting to believe Sybil was telling him a whole bunch of bullshit. From what he heard, Amelia had a good relationship with her mother. "If Anne were alive, why wouldn’t she make that known to the child who misses her?"
Sybil sighed as though Killian was from the underworld, he would never understand how dark magic worked. It was costl her greatly just to use it for small things so bringing someone back from the dead cost a lot more. "It was hard work for my sisters to travel in the late hours of the night to Anne’s grave, dig her body out and take her home where she truly belonged. One of my sisters went to take the daughter, but the fool accidentally dropped a potion on the child who woke up screaming."
"They had no choice but to leave Anne’s daughter behind since the guards were alerted. They took Anne’s body back to their home and started a sacrifice to wake her. It worked, but Anne isn’t all there yet," Sybil pointed at her head. "They were able to pull her soul here into this world to go into a new body, but a part of her soul still remains in the underworld. It would take a powerful demon like yourself to go into the underworld and free her soul completely so that she can stop having those cravings for human flesh that she has now."
"I have two questions. What potion was dropped on my wife?" Killian questioned, worried that it might have had some effect on Amelia. Witches never just walked around with good potions when they were going to retrieve a body.
"Don’t get so upset just yet. It was a potion to knock someone out. Make them sleep for a while, but for some reason, she woke up screaming. I wonder if it was because she was already sleeping so it woke her up," Sybil scratched the back of her head. Spiders and beetles descended from her hair as she did so. "I’ve been looking for those spiders," she said, trying to catch the tiny creatures before they would leave her body.
Killian sighed, trying to think of why he tortured himself by coming to Sybil. There were plenty of other witches around for him to visit. "Stay focused. My wife is unable to sleep at night unless I help her."
"You’re no stranger to potions, Killian. You know sometimes they have their weird side effects, but then they eventually wear off. That is if they were not deadly in the first place. She’ll be fine soon; if not, just get a new wife because it might eventually kill her. Well, she is Anne’s daughter and the wife of a demon so she can come back to life," Sybil said, thinking Killian had no reason to worry.
"Find a spell to make her better, Sybil. I will give you a piece of a demon’s wing if you make her able to sleep," Killian offered.
"Don’t think I am foolish to miss that it isn’t your wing you’ll be offering me. I can go and trap a smaller demon to get their wings myself. I still have my talents to aid me. This eye of mine just makes things harder. Fine," Sybil agreed to it. "I will have it done by the time you return tonight. Give it to her then or slip it inside her food without her knowledge. The latter is more exciting. What else do you want from me, Killian?"
Sybil had better things to do than stand around speaking about Anne and her daughter with Killian.
"Where can I find Anne? I need to confirm that she is alive as you say. You should know that there is a punishment for stealing souls from the underworld if you did," Killian said. If Anne was truly alive, it was the reason a part of her soul was still in the underworld. You could never steal something from Lucifer’s world.
"I don’t know where those-"
"Do not make me have to force it out of you. I will set this place and you on fire," Killian threatened. He created a fire in the palm of his hand which caused Sybil to scream in fear.
"Alright, alright. I will find out where my sisters are now. They don’t stay in one place for too long. Put away that fire!" Sybil hissed as she walked back into a fire.
The fire created by a demon would kill her with one touch. It was why she hated that demons had taken over the cold mountain. There were threats all around, but she did not wish to leave. The demons brought with them many items she could add to her spells. She only needed to beware their fire.
Killian stood up from the rock he sat on. "I will be back when the sun sets."
