"A frozen river," Amelia said, looking at the frozen body of water before her and Killian. Out of all the things she tried think Killian was trying to surprise her with, this hadnot crossed her mind.

Killian was proving to be more unpredictable and romantic day by day. He was already taking over a day she wanted to be centered around him.

"From watching your kind, you seemed to have fun playing around on frozen water. Ignoring the danger, I can see how it would be fun," Killian replied.

He watched human children and a few adults enjoy themselves when the nearby waters froze up. Sometimes, he wouls meddle to make the ice crack as it was fun for him to see them panicking. He was never disappointed by their screams and fear of dying.

"I didn’t get to play around with it in my much because everyone was afraid something would happen to the princess or my mother who would be the one to take me to see things like this. We got to slide around on ice when we visited my grandmother’s house in the past. Those days were peaceful, and I see now how much I took them for granted," Amelia said, finding the memories to be bittersweet.

If she could have looked into the future and learn of her mother’s death, she would have spent more time with mother. If she had lived ever day like it was the last, she might not find herself in this position, holding to little memories.

Killian carefully put her down at the edge of the frozen river. He wasn’t familiar with this area but he had once seen the river frozen when he flew around the mountain.

"Gentlemen first," Amelia gave way for him to walk on it first. The level of the river didn’t seem too high but still, for the ice to crack open and her to fall in would not be a good experience.

"Isn’t it ladies first?" Killian asked though he already knew the right term. He walked onto the ice to ease her mind about the ice possibly cracking beneath her. "It is safe," he tapped his feet down on the ice to show how strong the ice was.

"Hitting the ice didn’t calm my nerves but I am going to trust you will rescue me quickly if the ice below me cracks," Amelia said, carefully taking a step forward to the frozen water.

Killian thought she resembled a child taking her first step. "You should move faster or we will waste a day here. I will help you-"

"No," Amelia declined the offer. Killian wouldn’t miss the chance to tease her. "I want to take the first few steps myself. If it doesn’t feel safe I am jumping back to safety. I really should have brought better shoes-Oh!" She exclaimed as she lost her balance because of how slippery the ice was. Amelia would have fallen if not for Killian holding her hands to stop her from falling backward. "Thank you."

Amelia kept her eyes on the ground while Killian slowly pulled her further onto the ice. She was able to keep her balance and soon got used to something she would have loved to do more of as a child.

"See if you can stand on your own now," Killian said, releasing her so she could try walking around by herself. Her eyes twinkled like she was ready to slide around on the ice.

Her body was in for a lot of pain if she got too carried away and slipped on the ice. On the bright side, it meant he could massage her body

"D-Don’t go too far in case I fall," Amelia took baby steps onto the ice. Her body swayed like she was doing a weird dance but it didn’t matter as she enjoyed moving by herself. If she had better shoes and clothes that would aid with a softer landing if she were to fall, she would be running around like an excited child.

"You are quite the scaredy cat, Amelia."

"This scaredy cat will turn around and push you down onto the ice if you do not leave me alone. Why are you standing still, Killian? It is not just me who should be having fun. This day is all about you. Wait there," Amelia slowly turned around so she could be the one dragging him around to have fun.

"By the time you reach me, I will age a hundred more years," Killian joked, watching her painfully slow try to balance her way back to him. One little push and he could send her falling back onto her rear.

He might find he wasn’t as immortal as he thought once she got her hands on him afterward, but he couldn’t help poking around to make her angry. It was her fault for having a cute side when she was angry.

"You will still look young so you are fine. Would it have killed you to walk toward me? How are you standing perfectly fine? It is okay to admit to your wife that you come out here and slide around from time to time. You might be a well-known dangerous King but it is okay to have a soft side to you. Come with me," Amelia held onto his hands to lead him away from the spot he was seemingly glued to.

"I hope we can find time like this to have fun with our children. Childhood for royals isn’t always how everyone on the outside looking in thinks it is. We have to keep up appearances and forget about our childhood sometimes. What did you like to do as a child or have you always been like you are now?" Amelia asked as she didn’t know how life was for someone like Killian. He mentioned he was not born from a mother but created.

"I was never a child. I have no fond memories to look back on like you do. You will need to help me with what makes children happy. Children of your kind are nothing like demon children who enjoy creating chaos. Demon children can be scarier than their parents sometimes because they cannot control some of the desires they have. Would you like for more humans to come to the north soon so there will be normal children to play with?" Killian asked.

"It is enjoyable how we are planning for children when I am not yet pregnant. At least to my knowledge. I don’t mind if they only play with demons in the future. They will be surrounded by demons in the castle and it will take a while for us to convince my kind to live in the north. Perhaps we should try having our friends have children," Amelia joked and didn’t notice her husband’s reaction.

Killian on the other hand seriously contemplated meddling to get a few more couples who could produce friends for his children. Alastor and Gina had anger that could turn into lust. He could also send a woman Cyrus’s way. Edith would be tricky.

"Killian," Amelia sighed, knowing what his silence meant. "You cannot plot for anyone to have children. We will meet other couples with children in the future and when our friends are ready, they will have their children. Everyone isn’t in a rush like us."

"With a little help they could be," Killian replied.

Amelia chuckled as it was the only thing she could do right now when Killian was so serious about everyone else having children so his children would have playmates. "You are going to turn our friends into enemies. I am surprised we have not fallen yet-Ah!" Amelia gasped.

"Should have kept your mouth shut. Words have more power than you think. Witches will tell you this many times whenever they are near. To be accurate, they say power is in the tongue."

"I believe that it is true. Then, I will say that I will be an excellent ruler. I will match up to how great you are as King. Or should I say how great Alastor is because you leave him to do your work? You should give him a title for all that he does for you. He might not say it is something he wants but it is a nice gesture to someone who has remained loyal to you for years," Amelia said.

Anyone who wanted to kill Killian would no doubt try to get Alastor on their side. It is not every day in the castle you find loyal people who were not aiming for something more. She didn’t know much about the relationship Killian had with Alastor and how Killian made it known to Alastor that he appreciated his efforts yet but she was making a suggestion based on how grumpy Alastor was.

"Don’t think of what Alastor needs when your loving husband is infront of you. This day is all about me. Is it not?" Killian inquired, wanting the attention back on him.

"It is," Amelia shook her head at her childish husband.
