The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 153
Chapter 153: Chapter 153
Amelia remained composed at the sight of spears and all sorts of weapons all around the village. The interest in her went away as quickly as it came. The people in the village went back to their loud conversations that sounded on the brink of a fight happening.
"Who is the most reasonable person I can speak to?" Amelia asked Alastor. She needed someone she could calmly speak to get an idea of what was happening here since Killian and Alastor weren’t being helpful.
Alastor pointed to a man sitting in a chair at the largest home in the middle of the village.
Amelia walked ahead leading the group to whoever this man was. He sat decorated with gold, eating some sort of meat while a skinny person fanned him with a giant leaf. She could already tell what kind of person this man would be.
"Why is there a human in this village?" The man asked when Amelia neared him. He heard rumors of Killian marrying a human but didn’t think it would be true. Humans were only good for taking their souls. He was tempted to take her soul but didn’t because of the man he had seen beside Killian many times.
"This is Amelia Blackwell. Killian’s future wife and your queen," said Alastor.
"We already have a queen and king in the underworld. Why would we need another?" The man replied.
"The devil rules the underworld. Anyone who followed Killian to this world on top and lives on this mountain must obey him as king. The devil made this clear to everyone who wanted to leave the underworld. Would you like to be sent back to the underworld?" Alastor asked in a calm tone but he was furious. Killian was a king no matter if they had the devil.
The man looked at Alastor’s sharp dark nails and knew this wasn’t a fight he should pick. Killian’s little dog was known to be a ruthless fighter. Besides, he had the common sense to know that anyone working for Killian would be hard to kill.
"What is your name?" Amelia asked as this person had not introduced himself.
"I am not giving my name," he answered.
Amelia looked to Alastor for an explanation.
"Some demons can have their names used against them so they keep it a secret. There are other demons with the skill that if they know the names of certain types of demons, they could use the name to seal the demon’s lips and manipulate them," Alastor explained. This was why some of the weaker demons would crowd together to defend themselves from other demons looking to enslave them.
"I see. Then how about we use another name? I will call you Phillip. Do you want a fake name or for me to ask this guy," Amelia pointed at Alastor. "What is your real name?"
"Phillip sounds like such a weak name. Do I look weak to you, little one?"
"No," Amelia replied.
"What do you want to hear from me?’ Phillip asked as he had overheard her conversation with Alastor before she came to him.
"What is the backstory for this feud happening? Why are you trying to kill each other?"
"We don’t like each other," Phillip simply replied.
"And? What is the reasoning?" Amelia asked as she failed to believe all of this chaos was over not liking each other. She had many people she didn’t like but she would not go around throwing spears at them.
"That is all. If you don’t like someone, you kill them. You are not very smart for a princess," Phillip said, not very impressed with her.
"I am not smart? I am not the one setting places on fire and disrupting my peace by continuously trying to kill someone else. I seem really smart to me. This is nonsense. There has to be more to the story that you are not telling me," Amelia said, not completely believing this was all.
"There are two types of demons here who have never seen eye to eye for thousands of years. When we followed Killian up into this world, all the demons picked out land on the mountain to settle down. These two," Phillip pointed at the two groups bickering with each other. "Think alike and want this land for themselves but neither side is looking to give it up."
"This mountain is huge with enough land elsewhere that you do not have to fight over this one. It is not even that good," Amelia said as the soil didn’t seem to be that good. "What would it take to get one side to move?"
Phillip chuckled, entertained by her waltzing into their lives trying to stop this feud. "Nothing. Go back to your life in the castle and leave us alone. We all secretly enjoy the fights. It was nice meeting you," he said, holding out his hand for Amelia to shake.
"Do not touch him, princess. He is an incubus. A demon who would try any means to take advantage of you," Cyrus quickly spoke to stop Amelia from shaking this stranger’s hand.
Amelia stepped back after hearing Cyrus’s words. She inspected the man once again this time trying to spot how Cyrus would have picked up on what type of demon this man was. She would prefer that this demon be sent back to the underworld if he took pleasure in using women.
"No offense but this human is hardly my type and I cannot do anything while you are awake. Still, I can’t help feeling tempted to know what Killian Bune likes about you. You are still pure which means it could not be your body unless he wants to take pleasure in defiling a princess. It is quite exciting-"’
Amelia desperately wanted to punch the man but someone else beat her to it. She was surprised the punch was not done by Cyrus but by Alastor. Alastor delivered a blow to knock the man away from where he sat.
Regardless of his opinion of Amelia, she was still to be Killian’s bribe and he would not allow such a low demon to insult her. "Mind your words before I rip out your tongue and feed it to the terror birds."
