The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 151

Chapter 151: Chapter 151

"Grandmother, don’t you think it would be wise for you to inform us of whatever secrets you know about the north? Has Amelia sent you something?" Fraser asked, less hurt about her having no hope for him and more curious about what secrets she knew.

If he was going to attack the north, he needed all of their secrets. This morning, invitations were sent to the castle by birds giving all the details about Amelia’s marriage to Killian and her getting crowned queen of the north. Fraser was in a rush to become king before Amelia would be queen.

Of course whatever Amelia knew about the north would be kept a secret or shared with their grandmother. She was becoming more of a traitor each day in Fraser’s eyes. Why was he the only one seeing her shadiness? It wouldn’t be surprising to him if Amelia was so desperate to sit on the throne in this kingdom that she would join sides with Killian.

"I am not giving you information for you to attack the north. Stop trying to paint Amelia out to be the villain and cancel any plans you are making to remodel the castle. We need to be offering aid to those who lost someone in this war. Our people won’t be happy to see you interested in clothes and not comforting them for their losses. We lost good men in this fight. The people will be next to storm the castle if you do not act like a king," said Margaret.

"I am acting like a king for moving forward with getting rid of our enemy. The people want justice, grandmother. You and Amelia have fallen for that man’s tricks. Of course, you women would. I’m sure it’s amusing for him to see how easy it was to get Amelia to obey his words. Admit it that Amelia is wrapped up with that man that she is not thinking about her people. I was informed of that man going inside her room and then there was that northern dog outside her door."

Margaret contemplated slapping Fraser again but knew it would do no good. She blamed herself for not being more involved in his life just as she was with Amelia. Since she never considered his mother to be her family, she hardly considered Fraser to be her grandson since he did not share her blood. Fraser had the blood of her trifling late husband and his whore.

Margaret shook her head. "I was left to watch over you as king and I will not back up any of these plans you have. This kingdom will not go to war with the north and it is final. If you were studying as you should be, you would know the important role Leonard plays in the castle. That is why no matter how much my son hated him, Richard kept him in the castle. Grow up quickly and stop acting a fool before you find yourself with a sword pointed at your neck."

Fraser clenched his fist. This was why he did not want his grandmother to be ruling behind him. She did not see his vision for this kingdom. Letting the Blackwell name be feared once again. With his plans, the north would think twice before ever trying to invade them. He would march his way into the north and take their throne as his own. Fraser envisioned himself as the king who would bring the kingdom back to its former glory.

’I don’t need people who will not follow me,’ he thought.

Fraser didn’t plan to follow through with Killian’s idea of his grandmother having to take part in the orders Fraser wanted to make as king. Margaret had her time as queen now it was his. He was starting to care for her less since she did not care for him. They were in no way blood-related so Fraser knew there would never be a chance for them to agree as one or act as a family.

It would make him feel better should he ever need to get rid of her and it appeared like that time was approaching. His first order as king would now be to banish her from the castle and have Leonard hanged. Amelia was bound to be riled up by his actions so he could hardly wait.

Fraser loved how everyone was underestimating him. Thinking he was just a spoiled boy who got handed a big job. How wrong they were. He had been planning this for years. The throne had always belonged to him, not Amelia. His name would go down in history and fools like Leonard would beg for forgiveness.

Fraser straightened up himself as there was no reason for him to bite his tongue when it came to Margaret anymore. His mother had lectured him about never upsetting the former queen so that he could remain in the castle in the past but now he owned the castle Margaret was in. "I do not need your advice. Look where my uncle ended up following it," he replied.

"My son ended up dead from not following my advice. You do not want to get on my bad side boy. I can take away what you desire the most," Margaret warned him. She was nice when it came to family but cruel when the kingdom was at risk.

Fraser took a step back. "Are you threatening me, grandmother?"

"No, it is a warning Fraser. I would appreciate it from this moment on that you do not refer to me as your grandmother. It is what I wanted from the very beginning and it will hurt your feelings less when I think of you as a fool. Get your head together before you lose it," Margaret gave him the last of her advice.

As a woman far past Fraser’s age, it was understandable he wouldn’t take her threats lightly. He wasn’t made aware of the things she did in the past from the moment she was crowned queen. Her heart had long grown cold and the only warmth was Amelia.

Margaret made a mistake by staying out of the castle during her son’s rule but it would not happen again. Fraser would not sit on the throne. She would not sit by and let the people suffer at the hands of a foolish king.
