Chapter 99: Sneaking in
Chapter 99: Sneaking in
Alina sat in her car at the hospital gate, staring out at the hospital garden through the windshield. She watched as Beatrix walked with a friend through the manicured lawns and flower beds.
It has been almost a month now and she still hasn’t had an update on Damien’s condition.
She was going crazy. The security on the hospital was tight and the fact that the Americans hadn’t attacked them yet was making her restless.
They were too quiet for her liking. It was almost as if calm before the storm.
Alina had been trying to gather any information she could about Damien’s condition.
So she had resorted to spying on Beatrix, hoping to catch a glimpse of Damien or overhear any conversations about his health.
As she watched Beatrix and her friend chatting and laughing, Alina couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy. She wished she could be the one walking with Beatrix, discussing Damien’s progress. But she knew she couldn’t just approach Beatrix out of the blue. She had to be careful and come up with a plan.
Alina drummed her fingers on the steering wheel, trying to think of a way to approach Beatrix without raising suspicion. She knew she couldn’t just walk up to her and start asking questions. She would have to be subtle and try to gather information in a more subtle way.
As she sat in the car, watching Beatrix and her friend, Alina made a decision. She would have to come up with a plan, but she was determined to find out the truth about Damien’s condition no matter what it took.
Alina sat in her car for a few more minutes, gathering her thoughts and trying to come up with a plan. She knew she couldn’t just barge into the hospital and start asking questions. She would have to be subtle and try to gather information in a more covert way.
As she sat in the car, trying to come up with ideas, a nurse walked by, pushing a cart of medical supplies. Alina had an idea. She could pretend to be a new nurse and try to sneak into Damien’s room. It was risky, but it was the only idea she had.
She quickly gathered her things and slipped out of the car, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible. She walked through the hospital gates and followed the nurse, trying to stay close without being too obvious.
As they entered the hospital, Alina’s heart raced. They were a lot of bodyguards around the building who wouldn’t mind to shoot her if she messed up.
But she was determined to see Damien and find out the truth about his condition.
Alina nervously followed the nurse down the sterile white hallway, trying to remain inconspicuous. She had to get into Damien’s room, no matter the cost. As they approached the supply room, the nurse turned to retrieve something from a shelf. Alina took the opportunity to strike, quickly and efficiently knocking the nurse out with a blow to the back of the head. She quickly stripped the unconscious nurse of her uniform, her ID card before shoving her out of sight behind a stack of boxes.
Heart racing, Alina slipped on the uniform and made her way towards Damien’s room. She knew it would be heavily guarded, but she had to try. As she approached the door, a burly security guard stepped forward to block her path.
"I’m sorry, ma’am," he said gruffly. "Only authorized personnel are allowed inside."
Alina swallowed nervously, trying to keep her voice steady. "I’m the new nurse on the shift," she lied smoothly. "I’m here to check on Mr.Niarchos."
She showed him her ID card and thank goodness that she had on a nose mask.
The guard took the ID card and used a machine to scan before giving it back to her.
The guard hesitated for a moment, looking her up and down. Alina held her breath, praying that her disguise would hold up. Finally, the machine beeped and the guard stepped aside, allowing her to pass.
Alina let out a sigh of relief as she entered Damien’s room, shutting the door behind her. She knew she didn’t have much time before the nurse woke up and raised the alarm. She had to act fast.
The first thing that struck her was the smell: a mixture of antiseptic and sickness that made her stomach turn. She forced herself to keep moving, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Damien.
He was lying on his stomach on the hospital bed, his body covered in bandages and his face obscured by a thick layer of gauze. Tubes and wires connected him to a variety of machines that beeped and whirred softly in the background. Alina’s heart sank as she realized that Damien was in a coma.
She approached the bed, her hand shaking as she reached out to touch his bandaged shoulder. "Damien," she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "Can you hear me? It’s Alina."
There was no response from Damien, and the machines continued their steady beep. Alina’s eyes filled with tears as she realized the gravity of the situation.
Fuck! Her stupid father had to ruin everything.
Alina knew that she had to go before someone came.
She stormed out of Damien’s hospital room, her fists clenched at her sides. She couldn’t believe how bad Damien’s condition was.
As she walked down the hospital hallway, her mind was racing. She knew she had to do something to stop her father and make him pay for what he had done. But what could she do? She was just one person, with no real power or influence. The person with the real power was her father.
But then she remembered something her father had told her long ago: "In this business, it’s not about strength or intelligence. It’s about loyalty and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done."
Alina knew then what she had to do. She would use her father’s own tactics against him. She would gather his allies and strike back at him, using every ounce of cunning and determination she had. She would do whatever it took to bring him down, and she would make him pay for what he had done to Damien.
It was time she took over the Russian mafia. Her father was old and needed to rest.
Her lips curled into a sinister smirk.
