The Sweetest Temptation
Chapter 142: Drown

Chapter 142: Drown

Damien’s voice was firm and urgent, "Beatrix, don’t say that. Please. I can handle this. I won’t let her hurt you."

"But you’re hurting yourself." Beatrix cried. "I can’t let you do this. I won’t let you throw your life away for me."

"It’s not throwing my life away. I love you. And I won’t let anything happen to you." Damien replied.

Alina smirked, "Well, well. Isn’t this just the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard."

Beatrix glared at Alina, "Let me speak to Damien. I need to talk to him."

Alina shook her head, "Sorry, sweetie. Time’s up."

Beatrix felt a sense of desperation wash over her. She had to find a way to stop this. She wouldn’t let Damien marry someone he didn’t love just to save her.

"Damien, listen to me. We’ll find another way. We’ll figure this out together. I won’t let you do this." Beatrix pleaded.

But Alina had already hung up the phone. Beatrix was left feeling helpless and alone. She had to find a way out of this mess. She couldn’t let Damien make the biggest mistake of his life.

"I will never let him marry you!" Beatrix yelled at her.

Alina smirked at her and strode towards her.

Beatrix was taken aback by Alina’s piercing eyes, which sent shivers down their spine. She took a step back and without warning, she lunged at Beatrix and pushed her against the wall and seized Beatrix by the hair and pushed her on the floor, dragging her across the floor.

Beatrix was then thrown onto a table near the bed, but as she tried to get up, Alina held her down and flipped onto her back.

Alina’s hand covered Beatrix’s mouth, silencing any screams, and her menacing face loomed over Beatrix’s, sending waves of fear through her.

"I have to admit little Bea, you certainly are an impressive one.

I must have forgotten to make my point clear, but you should’ve known better than that. Why is it hard to understand that I will kill anyone who lusts after Damien, let alone a bitch like you?"

Alina said, staring into her eyes, making her heart skip a lot of beats. Beatrix squirmed in panic as Alina observed her for a moment then tilted her head to the side in a questioning way.

"I wonder why not only Damien but also his brother.

What’s so special about you anyway?" she mused. "Oh is it your innocence that draws them in?"

Beatrix’s terror rose up at her words. H-how did she know about her relationship with the brothers?"

Alina flashed her perfect teeth at her and let out a mirthless chuckle, "But if you’re really innocent will you be fucking two brothers? You’re nothing but a slut."

"Let go of me. You’re crazy."

Alina chuckled, "Oh you haven’t seen anything else love. Let me show you how crazy I can be."

Alina dragged her to the bathroom and closed the door behind them, locking the door and putting the key in her pocket.

"You wanted to die for love right? Then let me help you." Alina’s sadistic smile made a shiver ran along her spine.

She said and pushed Beatrix in the bathtub. Alina turned on the tap of the bathtub.

As the warm water filled the bathtub, Alina watched with a mixture of anger and satisfaction as Beatrix struggled to free herself

"This will create a new feeling for you and one I’m excited to see how your body handles. I hope you enjoy the taste of death, then let’s see if you still want to die."

Alina held Beatrix’s head under the water, letting out a fits of laughter.

Beatrix struggled against Alina’s grip, her limbs thrashing as she tried to escape. But Alina was too powerful, her anger lending her a strength beyond normal human limits. She kept Beatrix’s head underwater, unrelenting for even a moment.

Beatrix’s breaths became shallow and labored as she tried to inhale through the water. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself and ignore what was happening. She fought back tears, knowing that they would only make it harder to breathe.

With no air left in her lungs, Beatrix tried to take a breath, but it took all of her energy just to gasp in a tiny amount of air. Her thoughts started to become jumbled, and her head felt light.

Her heart raced, each beat becoming more and more irregular, as she was suffocated further by the water.

Just when she thought she was about to lose consciousness or her heart was about to give out, Alina pulled her out of the water.

Beatrix coughed and gasped for air, inhaling and exhaling as quickly as she could. The cool air felt like a knife in her lungs and nose, but she was grateful for it nonetheless.

"It’s only been three minutes," Alina’s voice haunted her, feeling her move her back into the water,

"We are at least going to be here for half an hour. Then maybe by the time we are done, you will change your mind about killing yourself."

Beatrix screamed,

"No...stop....stop let me out....crazy bitch...."

But her screams only made matters worse as she lost the majority of her air straight away.

The fight was harder this time, her mind becoming quite fuzzy much faster and before long, she was slipping in and out of consciousness, the lack of oxygen to her brain making her lose rational thought, completely unaware of how much time has actually passed by.

Beatrix felt her struggles getting weaker and weaker. She could feel her life slipping away from her. So this was the way she would die? As her eyelids got heavier all she could think about was Rhys and Damien. Hopefully they will be happier one day.

"Have you gotten the location?" Xavier asked the man in front of the computer. They had called Ace, Ava’s boyfriend for help. Alina probably had her eyes on them so they couldn’t do anything reckless that would put Beatrix in danger. That’s why they were using Ace’s team.

Even though Alina had a strong coded phone that couldn’t be traced they currently had one of the best hackers in the world working on breaking the code.

"Yes Sir." The man replied excitedly.

He nodded and turned to look at Damien who seemed to be in shock.

"Hey are you okay? You look slightly pale." He asked Damien softly.

Damien shook his head and let out a frustrated sigh.

"Beatrix..."

"I know man but we are going for her right? Now that we have the location. Alina wouldn’t suspect a thing since Ace’s team will be the one going for her. We just have to wait."

Xavier said, trying to give his friend some support.

"No...she said she will kill herself if I marry Alina."

Xavier blinked at his words, "Really? She said that? But why would she say that? You’re just trying to save her."

Damien hung his head, "She doesn’t want me to sacrifice my happiness to save her but she doesn’t know that if I lose her I won’t have any happiness left."

"I understand that, but she doesn’t. You need to talk to her and explain the situation to her. She needs to know that you’re doing this for her." Xavier said with a firm voice.

Damien nodded, "I know. I’ll explain to her when we get her back. But first, we need to get her out of there."

Xavier put a hand on Damien’s shoulder, "Don’t worry. We’ll get her back. And we’ll make sure she’s safe."

The two of them turned to the man in front of the computer who had been silently listening to their conversation.

"Alright, let’s get Ace’s team together. We’ll move out as soon as possible." Xavier said with determination.

The man nodded and started typing on the computer, as Damien and Xavier started making plans to rescue Beatrix.

On cue, Xavier’s phone rang and he pulled it out to see that it was Rhys.

"FUCK...we had forgotten to update Rhys on the situation. He must be worried sick right now. What do you want me to tell him?"

Damien furrowed his brows together, "let me talk to him." Knowing his brother he must be going crazy right now, blaming himself for Beatrix’s disappearance.

Xavier handed the phone to him.

"Rhys.."

"Damien, have you found her? Is she okay? Please tell me she is okay." Damien could hear the desperation in his voice.

"Yes. She is fine, don’t worry. I’m going for her. Very soon we will be reunited." Damien reassured Rhys, hoping that he could calm him down.

"Thank God, thank you, Damien. I’m so relieved to hear that. I have been going out of my mind here." Rhys sounded like he was on the brink of tears.

"It’s okay, bro. We will sort everything out. Just sit tight and I’ll update you as soon as I can," Damien said as he ended the call.

He turned to Xavier, "We need to move fast. We can’t waste any more time."

Xavier nodded in agreement, "Agreed. Let’s go."
