Chapter 134

She’d get to them, but she opted to release the prince first. He was too important and too big of a deal also to be left behind.

The elf instantly understood what she’d do when he saw her standing outside his cell. He automatically moved out of the way for her to force the door open.

She did it in two kicks, and the door flew to the wall in her last attempt. He stepped out and halted in front of her. He slightly bent his knees for her to easily hold the metal collar on his neck.

At first, she was awestruck upon seeing him up close.

Does he always look this calm and composed? It seemed like he didn’t know that there was danger all around him. He wasn’t bothered by anything.

His presence made her feel at ease but at the same time cautious. She was confused about what he was doing to bend down at her. His golden eyes were so striking and soft-looking like a puppy, unlike her wolfish orbs. When her eyes shifted, there would be vertical slits in the middle of her pupil. So, it looked exactly like the eyes of a wolf.

"Please." He murmured.

His smooth, soothing voice awakened her, and she blinked. It wasn’t like Ezekiel’s that was low and dangerous. Just then she understood that he wanted his collar off. She acted like a fool for a few seconds there. She lifted her arms and pulled at the collar by both hands in opposite direction. It came off, and there weren’t any red marks on his pale, radiating skin.

"You know the way out, Your Highness." She managed to mumble as his golden circlet seemed to wink at her for acknowledging its status against his forehead. She felt like she was in front of a holy priest because of his white aura.

"Let me help."

She was about to protest, but a loud explosion erupted that made them flinch and duck to cover their heads from the falling rumbles. The lights blinked, and the ground shook under them for a second. It was probably from the electricity room. The explosion finally happened.

"No. Go to the passage outside!" She exclaimed through the loud noise and the continuous blaring of the alarm. She could hear shouts as well. Just outside the door, the hunters were about to get it open any minute now. She didn’t wait for any of his response, and she moved to the glass wall at the end of the aisle.

Whoever was in there were the last ones that she shouldn’t miss, for Tyla said that they were the most important captives in the organization. She didn’t look back at the elf. She’d freed him already. He was on his own as she’d instructed him to get out.

Nesa came running back inside. She met the elven prince halfway. She nodded at him momentarily and continued her way. She saw Melisca trying to break the double doors at the end of the hall.

Zavien could free the collar by himself, but he let the strong woman do it so that he could look into her eyes closer. And he found out her secret. She was a hybrid wolf. And a heroic one too.

He wanted to help, but he decided to see where the other supernaturals were if they needed his healing magic, especially the child that he’d seen earlier. But when he reached the dark corridor outside, only one was left. It was the faerie he had seen among the humans. And she didn’t look as lively as before. She was leaning against the brick wall and sweating. Her breath was slightly ragged. Her magic was draining as he glanced at the portal she’d made at the wall.

"What are you still standing there for?" She snapped. "Get into it, Your Highness." Carmen met his gaze for a second and withdrew it. He was so holy fucking stunning. She didn’t want to spare him another glance, or she’d have a hard time averting her eyes again.

His lean, tall frame with the white robe he was wearing was giving him a hot holiness vibe. His pointy ears twitched.

Zavien could hear footsteps coming in their way. He had to help her now.

"You’re weakening." He approached her. If he’d get inside, she’d certainly collapse on the floor. He wanted to touch her to get her strength back, but she instantly shrieked and pushed him past the vortex.

"Move!" Carmen warned and shoved him inside the dark hollow. Someone almost shot at him as the hunters quickly ran in their direction. She closed the vortex against the wall and sprinted inside the prep room. She had to get Melisca out. Though she didn’t know how to do it, as she would be influenced by the ABD once she got inside. But she had to assist her.

Carmen pulled her own gun from the gun holster in her waist, and she sprinted past the prep room, and she saw two hunters pushing aside the sliding door to open it for everyone.

Bang! Bang!

She took them out quickly since their backs were facing her. The one who attempted to get inside aimed at her, but she hid back behind the wall. She had to take them down, or as many as she could, before they got inside to Melisca. In that way, they wouldn’t stop her from rescuing the VIP captives behind the special room. And they would think of their way out once they had them free from their own prison.

Carmen turned around and ducked on one knee to shoot at the hunters who came in through the dark corridor. She knew she would be out of bullets soon, so she had to grab a weapon from them. She was having a hard time guarding two entrances together. She quickly made a quick choice to finish the hunters first that was coming through the dark corridor.

Whoever got into view at the entrance was instantly shot by her. There were five in total and they stumbled down on their deaths. Of course she aimed on their unprotected parts. They had vests in their chests so she shot at their necks or foreheads. She didn’t hear any footsteps coming from there anymore so she approached the nearest one and grabbed his gun on the floor.

She can still sense her magic in her body so she took out a knife from her waist, the other side of the gun holster, and cut her palm to produce blood. Just enough that some dripped down the floor. She faced her slashed palm in the air and concentrated to make a space illusion. Not just a minute, she finished it. Any human would see that the door was standing and remained closed. From the outside, the corridor was in stark darkness again as there was a made-up door and there were no lifeless bodies outside.

Using the trick with her blood wasn’t necessary, but for it to stay longer, she had to. It was what she did with Melisca’s tattoo. She had her blood touched the woman when she rubbed her arm and her blood soaked quickly in her skin. That was why it was able to last as long as the wearer didn’t draw out blood from it.

And for the space illusion she made, people wouldn’t see the truth behind it if the space remained unbothered by anyone. No one would step into it.

She turned around just as someone pointed a gun at her, she ducked and rolled on the floor since there wasn’t much spaces inside. Just a narrow aisle for anyone to walk in and wore the chemical protection suits. She shot at the hunter’s leg and at the other who came behind him. She had no other way to run out of the room.
