Chapter 120: Chapter 119
Chapter 119
Ezekiel didn’t as much flinch or react to the witch’s comment. The other races were on the edge of their seats. It was known that the wolves were the smallest in number, but other kingdoms still think twice if they ever wanted to finish them, since Ezekiel took on the throne of the dead wolf king.
Being a hybrid wolf and vampire made his abilities more prominent than most individuals. His wolf voided the vampire’s weaknesses and vice versa. But in the supernatural world, anyone could die if they were beheaded or their hearts were ripped out. However, executing it was the hardest job. As if they would let anyone near them without giving a muscle.
"Being a rebel in your Coven doesn’t mean that she’s incapable of what I tasked her to do, Queen Aradria. And it’s my choice who I want to work with. I trust that she can do it." He clearly stated without holding back. The witch remained her gaze on him. "You can talk to her if you want to get involved with it. She’s your sister after all."
Aradria’s lips formed a thin line, then she gave a wistful smile and nodded. But her jaw was moving. She was holding back her words. Her hands gripped the armrests. Wisp of black smoke exuded out of her fingers again. And then she clenched her fists, and the smoke vanished. She was fuming. "Very well, King Ezekiel." Her voice was restrained as her teeth were gritting. Then she exhaled. Puffing out red fog from mouth. She waved them off with her hand, and they were gone.
Ezekiel wouldn’t be surprised if the Queen of Witches could roar out fire from her throat.
"You said the antidote would be finished in a few days, yes?" His stepmother asked in a louder voice. She exactly knew when to step in in a heated atmosphere.
"Right, Your Majesty." He confirmed.
"Then, when you plan to raid the hunter’s headquarters, the Blood Court is ready to back you up anytime." Estrella turned her head to Karlyle. She met her husband’s gaze.
Karlyle stared at his queen with affection. "Of course. The King of Wolves is still my son. I would gladly assist him." He smiled so lightly to her, and it vanished when he looked back to the audience.
A pang of envy unexpectedly shocked Ezekiel. The image of Melisca emerged in his mind again. It never actually stopped. She was always there. Her obsidian eyes that he would willingly lose himself in it, like a bottomless pit that kept drowning him. He would gladly surrender to her. His hand twitched as it remembered the warmth and softness of her skin when he had the chance to touch her. Even his tongue when he tasted her blood.
He sharply sucked a breath and exhaled through his mouth. He shouldn’t get distracted by the thoughts of her. No one yet found out about his hybrid mate. And he must keep that under the covers until he had her by his side. Anyone going after his mate would have to get through him first. Even the Blood Court. He wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt her in any way.
"I beg your pardon, Your Majesties." Zek tilted his head and looked at the hosts of the castle. All eyes are on him. "I highly suggest that you focus your forces here in your country. They may have another headquarters here." Then he shifted his gaze to the other leaders who came from across the globe. "And to your countries as well. Now that you all know of their lethal progress, we all shouldn’t be complacent."
"The silly fools." Reth commented. The fae representative, who didn’t even bother to use a glamour in their presence.
Bryar, who was sitting next to Zek, snorted. "As if you Faeris cared. You have your own realm. So, you all better stay there to not entangle yourselves with the humans."
"Of course, but that’s up to our High King Yael." Reth bared his razor-sharp teeth.
"Wolf King, since we are in the same country. I would like to aid you with the raid." Raindel humbly offered, rising to his feet and bowing his head in his direction.
Ezekiel sat up properly. "I beg your pardon, King Raindel. But I’d rather you stay safe and away from the hunters. I’m not underestimating your race. In fact, elves are too important for the nature to put them at risk. We all know that." He roamed his gaze to everyone in the room. And though some hesitated to admit it, most nodded their heads in agreement.
Elves were highly connected with nature. Their power and essence nurture the land, trees, and plants. In short, they keep the earth vibrant and much more livable for all the races and humans.
"And as for His Highness Zavien, if they ever had him, but we all hope not, I swear with the Moon Empire that we would bring him to you."
King Raindel stayed silent for a moment. Still not fully relieved, but it somehow lessened his worry about the prince. He sat back down. His face was solemn. He wanted to help in any way, but the Wolf King was right. He had to stay safe to lead the rest of his people. His role was too significant not just to the elves, but in Mother Earth also.
"Drasco." Zek gestured for him to hand to him the small briefcase that he laid on the floor. He passed it on to him, and Zek stood up. "Can I request for a small table, Your Majesties?" He asked the king and queen on the platform.
Karlyle waved one of his servants that were standing up at the side, waiting for any command. In just a minute, they sat up a high round table in the aisle and covered it with gold satin cloth.
Ezekiel approached the center. Gunther and Drasco moved forward with him as well. But he turned to them and gave a hand signal for them to stop and stay on their spot. The two hesitated to oblige his silent command as they were worried for their king with the other races around.
"Stay there." Zek finally voiced it out with a hard edge in his tone. The two automatically nodded their heads in submission and pulled a step back.’
He faced the table again and propped the case on top. He opened it carefully and took out a rectangular box. He opened the lid. The syringe was positioned in the middle of a cushion. And he provided a cover for the pointy needle. It now had a lid so no one should accidentally prick themselves with it.
The other people stood up and walked away from their seats. They cautiously sauntered to the middle and gathered around the table.
"This is the Anti-Superno." He announced. Staying close to the poison, incase anyone would dare go wild and use it to any one of them. "No one’s to touch it." He warned.
"May I, Wolf King? No touching." Aradria raised both hands that she won’t lay a finger on it.
He nodded, giving her a go.
