Chapter 83: 83. D&D
"Oh, I am sorry. You looked like a dead bo-" Tyler quickly covered Lily’s mouth. He now understood why her other personality said his job was babysitting.
"It’s okay... I am back," her demeanour changed. Tyler understood that her detective personality had taken over. He let go of her with a sigh of relief.
"The window is closed from the inside, and the door is locked from the inside. His grandmother was afraid because her grandson was not opening the door. So she called for help and broke the door to find the... body," the guard explained.
"Is there any other exit in the house?" another detective, surnamed Xu, asked the grandmother.
Lily ignored them and looked at the broken door. If that old lady knew another entrance, why would they need to break the door to enter? She knew those questions were useless.
After analysing the door, she walked to the window. She saw some threads near the window and grabbed one.
"Did you find something?" Tyler asked.
Lily nodded.
"There’s no way you found something just by looking around," Detective Xu said sceptically.
Lily just smiled at Detective Xu and asked the old lady, "Does your grandson or anyone else who lives in this house do tailoring?"
The old lady shook her head.
"Does your grandson have white clothes?"
The old lady nodded and brought out a white shirt. Lily touched the shirt and nodded, "Did anyone come near the window after you found your grandson?"
"I don’t know. But only the people who helped me break the door walked in the room. Others stood outside," the grandmother said.
"Thank you for your cooperation. You can go back now," Lily nodded again and said.
Lily called Tyler and whispered something in his ear. Tyler nodded and left.
"Found anything?" Detective Xu asked mockingly.
"Other than your missing dad, I can find everything," Lily Gomes’ defective personality came out.
Detective Xu’s mouth twitched. Only a few people knew about Lily’s multiple personalities, so Detective Xu thought that Lily was mocking him by not respecting him.
Tyler came back with the items Lily had asked for, handing them over with a puzzled expression. Though surprised by her change in personality again, he didn’t care; all he need to do is to block her mouth before she starts her disastrous speech.
"Guards, keep an eye on the four people who helped the grandmother," she said. Turning around, she added, "All of you get out. I will show you how the killer escaped from the house."
Everyone left the house. The guard and Tyler stood near the door and waited, curious to see how the killer escaped.
Some time passed.
"Huh? Is she sleeping inside?" Detective Xu asked.
Tyler’s mouth twitched. It was not impossible.
"Oh, are you guys waiting for someone?" Suddenly, Lily Gomes asked. She was standing behind them.
Everyone was baffled.
"Impossible," Detective Xu said as he walked inside.
The window was closed, and they were standing at the door. How did she get out?
"Alright, now this is what happened," Lily Gomes said as she walked to the window and took the small ring attached to the thread. "I used the window to escape. I first attached this ring to this barrel bolt lock with the thread. After closing the window from outside, I pulled the thread and the window locked from the inside. The killer probably used the same method."
Everyone was speechless.
"What if that thread was just part of a cloth?" Detective Xu asked.
"That’s why I checked the clothes with the same colour. They had different fabric," Lily Gomes said.
"But you only found the thread, not the ring," Detective Xu was still not convinced and pointed it out.
"That’s why I asked who came near the window after breaking the door. The killer was clever but only half. He left many clues." Lily shook her head in disappointment. Everyone turned their heads towards the four people who helped break the door.
The four people instantly became nervous when everyone looked at them.
Lily walked towards them, and everyone watched with anticipation.
"Killer say what?"
"What the-"
Tyler White totally regretted his decision to join her.
"Alright Alright, I narrowed down the suspect. Just go on and use your method to find out who the killer is. I will report it to the law department." Lily said bored as she walked out. She looked at one of the four guys before she left with Tyler.
"Why did you look at one of the guys before leaving? Is he the killer?" Tyler asked in confusion.
"Nah... Didn’t you see the mole under his Pupils. I thought it was fake, so I checked it out. It turns out it is real." Lily Gomes said.
Tyler was scolding himself that why he asked the question.
That evening Tyler was baffled because the killer was the guy who had mole under his pupil.
"Oh... I knew it. He panicked when I took the thread from the window." Lily Gomes said.
"You were observing him from the beginning?" Tyler was surprised.
"I was observing everyone from the beginning." Lily Gomes said. She drank the wine.
"That’s it. See you tomorrow." She lifted her wine glass and said.
Tyler nodded and left.
"Along with your salary, You will receive the method to restore the meridian this week." Lily said loudly at Tyler.
Tyler went back to his room. Silvia was already sleeping inside, exhausted from her classes. Tyler made a mental note to buy her some healthy food and drink the next day.

The following day arrived. Tyler was free today; all he had to do was write down some documents in the office. He found it a little boring, but it was still his job.
Lily Gomes and Omar had left him at the office to investigate a case at the level one fishery. Tyler had yet to acquire Aura, so he couldn’t join them.
As Tyler worked, he thought about Lily’s detective skills. He was glad that not all detectives worked on every case, especially one like Lily. Tyler had once killed a person using poison during the trial, but he hadn’t even been a servant disciple, so nobody cared.
Some servant disciples had married and lived on the island for generations. The victim from the previous day was also from that type of family.
When a servant disciple was killed, the investigation was usually minimal, just enough to appease the servant families. That’s why the Law Enforcement Department didn’t want people like Lily investigating such cases. It was also why they hesitated to give her a job.
Tyler analysed everything as he wrote a letter. Then he took his badge and left the office, heading to the **Work Register Office**.
With his badge, Tyler didn’t need to stand in line. He went to the elder and handed over his letter.
"Ah... Is it a letter of resignation?" the elder guessed.
"Huh... No, it is an application form to open a business. If possible, I would like to apply for funds from the sect," Tyler said.
The elder was surprised and read the letter. "White Auction Hall, Immortal Bytes Restaurant."
"It will take time," the elder said as he signed the letters and gave Tyler some forms to fill out. After filling them out, Tyler submitted them.
"Nice... Now I feel empty," Tyler laughed. He felt a little weird without any work.
He went back to his room and took his copper pot. He placed a coin in it and took it out. It didn’t work.
He then looked at the back of his hand. The dragon tattoo there seemed like an ordinary tattoo.
"It would look cool if it were on my shoulder," Tyler said.
The tattoo moved as if it were flying in the sky. It revolved around his arm and stopped on his shoulder.
Tyler was surprised. "Huh... Zuzia... Can you hear me?"
The tattoo remained motionless. He called her a few more times, but it didn’t move. He gave up but had a feeling that he could summon her again after getting Aura.

Later that day, Tyler decided to go for a walk to clear his mind. As he strolled through the sect’s grounds, he saw many people. The sect was always bustling with activity, and there was always something new to learn or observe. He stopped by a small food stall and bought some food for Silvia.
"Alright My funds are decreasing. I have to wait for a week before I get the payment." Tyler requested Lily to get the Payment in advance.
Lily agreed without any questions. He was grateful for that.
Tyler went back to his room and waited for Silvia. After many hours passed but she didn’t come.
Someone knocked Tyler’s door. Tyler opened the door, he guessed that this is not Silvia because she has a spare key to his room.
"Are you Mr. white?" The patrol Guard who knocked on the door asked.
"Ms. Black went Missing."
