Chapter 93: Hero’s Ultimate Roast Battle: ‘Don’t Lose Your V-Card, Old Man!’
"556...."
"...are you alright, Elsara?"
"Mm. I received the mage’s report before I came here, but this...." The Queen glanced down at the frozen smile, the nobility of her violet eyes tainted with glints of sorrow. "This I do not expect to be part of the atrocities that Dragon Elder would commit."
Albeit with a surprise that both the scowling Demond and Adrei were also at the cafe she had once known, Elsara was met with an old friend in an unfortunate state before being told of what happened.
Even when <Flooded>, even when all your datas being deleted and turning you into a state worse than a plant human...you just can’t put down that damn annoying smile, huh?
A snark unbefitting of a royal’s manner shone upon the Queen’s muddled thought, then with a chortle as Alice attempted to play circle on her arm, she petted hero’s head before facing the Witch and the Dragon.
"So, the Infinite Dungeon of Sovereignheim, you say?" The Queen scowled at the shuddering Yasen hiding behind the Dragon Queen before shifting back to the amber eyes she had faced countless times at a diplomatic table.
"Yes, Queen Elsara." Adrei nodded, her hands still on the Witch’s waist as Demond glared at Alice, who poked the Queen’s waist absentmindedly. We also wish to visit Chandelier Forsak’s brother, who managed the territory.
"Which is the reason you two would need a Royal Sigil, since not many are...also receptive to the Dragon’s alliance." The Queen nodded as she peeked at the Dragon Council Emblem dangling on the Dragon Queen’s chest.
"Fair point," the Queen, however, as the diplomat of efficiency, smiled. "But I do not wish to give it away freely. It is rare to be owed a favor by the second strongest being on the continent, as well as the hidden Tyrant Slayer, and I wish to use this favor in an instant."
"Hmm...how do you hope so?" The Dragon Queen’s hand tightened on the witch as Demond was about to stretch her hand and pulled Alice’s hair, who was already hiding behind the Queen’s back, with a yelp.
"Perhaps starting with the investigation into the Infinite Dungeon itself?" The Queen smiled as her hand snaked down to Alice with a shudder, disciplining her playful pet. "Do remember not to hold back should you meet your former friend in the way. You bear my sigil after all."
"Of course." Adrei frowned a little, the Queen’s unexpected rage even amongst their most dire conversation surprising the Dragon.
"And Yasen...stop hiding and come out."
Upon the Human Queen’s ’polite smile’ that mirrored the Witch’s threatening one, alongside her own Queen’s glare, Yasen’s back straightened as she stepped out of her sister’s shadow. "Uh-uh...hi?"
"Mm. I’m afraid our next meeting with the Dragon Elders will be full of complications, which is why you must contact Alfina now." The Queen tilted her head, careful that her glances did not touch upon the frozen Android on the ground.
"I-I understand..." Yasen’s <Far-seeing Eyes>, a one-of-a-kind global magic reduced to a ’global telephone’ for the second time, dent Yasen’s neck with a pressure she didn’t dream of, as she closed her eyes again for the magic.
"And Adrei, here." The Queen clicked her finger, then within the magic lovers - Alice and Demond’s raised eyes, a small portal that was the size of a palm cracked out from the air.
<Royal Inventory>, a special Unique Skill of the Royal blood. The amazed Duo, the Mother who witnessed this for the first time, and the Daughter who was always drawn to the magic she couldn’t hope to replicate, watched as the Queen’s hand grasped within it something.
"Here." The Queen’s hand took from it an Emblem carved with Golden Crown decorated with a Diamond Tiger, and handed to Adrei’s stretched hand. "This is the Emblem. As of now, you are representative of the Royal House."
"Mmm. I understand fully." Adrei nodded as her hand tightened again...on Demond’s waist with an annoyed groan, this time her wife’s hand stretching out, instinctively to touch the dissipating portal.
"May I also clarify what we should be looking for in the Infinite Dungeon?" The Dragon Queen furrowed, understanding the Human Queen was not of a person to bear a personal grudge over diplomatic matters.
"Specifically, I wish to know what’s behind the Infinite Dungeon that kept it running." The Queen’s shoulders slackened upon the Draconic lens that sought incursion. "I have suspected it since the Dragon Elder herself told you there would be a cure to the <Drowned> in the Dungeons, but..."
"But?"
"But I remember a concerning report from the Chandelier’s brother." The Queen sighed at the lingering suspicion. "Specifically, the...lacking details of it when most of the adventurers migrated towards the Infinite Dungeon."
"Lacking details?" Adrei’s scales flared a puff of smoke, which the witch choked on.
Watching the dragon as she petted the wife in comfort, Elsara sighed.
"Specifically, he told us to await more reports since it’s the first time the town has expanded since Alice eliminated the demons. Then he puts blank when regards to some details like commercials and stakeholders involved in how the city plans to be expanded"
"Ah, I seem to recall that the adventurers have all migrated to the dungeon like you suggested." Adrei, as a newly experienced Dragon diplomat, was naturally more familiar with the witch’s smooth hair and her claw than the political affairs of humans.
"Which is why I hope for you to investigate under my privilege, your position as the Dragon Elder’s leader, and..." Elsara glanced over to the witch with a smirk. "Hero Alice’s mother."
"It is still Father, Queen Elsara." The petting on the witch’s hair grew stronger as she grumbled, along with Alice sneezing behind her owner’s back.
"Indeed. Again, feel free to fly over to the capital and contact me should anything go wrong. Telecommunication magic is still monitored by the Mage Tower, after all, so our communications are limited unless..."
The Queen narrowed her eyes on Yasen, who shook her head to express her unwillingness to travel and interrupt the Witch and the Dragon’s honeymoon, as Elsara merely chortled.
"Then that’s it for now. Have a safe journey, you two." Elsara smiled as she glanced over to the frozen Android one last time before pulling her puppy’s collar. "I will go now to contact Miss Adil to settle down 556’s shop along with her frozen body. You two should set off now."
"Wait, Elsara!" Alice whined as she held the Queen’s hand. "Let me say something to Father first..."
"I don’t mean to impede your reunion, but don’t you think much more can be left to be said in our Peace Banquet?" Elsara teased with a smirk, a smirk that Adrei now wore as well, with the Witch squinting at both’s unusual bond.
"Then, have a safe journey, you two." The Queen pulled Alice away, and Alice managed to whimper one final word before leaving.
"Try not to lose your v-card so early, old man!"
The Witch gritted her teeth before sneering. "Try not to pee on the street like a dog again, my daughter!"
And with that, both of them would end with broken promises, promises that the Queen would eventually spit and laugh at in another tea meeting.
-------------
"Elsara..."
"Hm, what is it, my Hero?"
"It’s just...." The hero stared downwards at the iced ground as if the embarassment would melted off by her own ice. "It’s just a little embarassing...having to meet my Father like that."
"Oh? I thought otherwise when you acted so confidently just like before?" The Queen chuckled as she petted the Hero who pouted.
"Well I’m still her...uh, it’s confusing. I’m still his daugher, you know?" Alice shook her head against the Queen’s palm. "The-the thing is...the thought I have call Adrei my aunt is just a little...that..."
"That?"
"That....weird, I guess?" Alice leaned into the Queen’s waist, which the Queen obliged by snaking a hand around hers. "I never thought the ally I fought with a year before could be so...uh, cringe, I guess?"
"Pft, our relationship with the Dragon will be scorched clean if Adrei heard of how you comment on her passion." The Queen planted a kiss on her Hero. "Besides, you don’t think the Witch will think the same for...us as well?"
"...that’s why I...kinda also want to escape quickly with you, haha..."
The puppy tilted her glance to the side, the heat over in her waist a permanent reminder of her willing submission to the Queen, and the similar predicament her father is facing.
Perhaps...the Father-Daughter Duo will need a real, long talk at the Peace Banquet, after everything has been settled.
For now...the puppy snuzzled her head into the Queen’s embrace. The Hero once again ’earned’ her rest, albeit at the cost of another emptied Royal Treasury, and the screams of Pain from the Queen’s subordinates, accountants, merchants and knights that would soon face another financial crisis.
