Chapter 94: Burn the Traitor, Hug Your Wife (A Dragon’s To-Do List)

"Yasen, how did Alfina react?"

"...she said feel free to burn down Coriel the moment you see her."

"No worries. I will even without her asking."

Adrei groaned as she and the Witch walked the street, hand-in-hand, as Yasen hunched her shoulders as her eyes were not directly glared at by the Dragon Queen’s wrath.

"We-well...I would also follow Alfina’s opinion as well..." Yasen whimpered, her throat clenching on itself for what little pity she could spare for her betrayer sister.

"So you don’t think so, huh?"

"I-I..." Yasen glanced away as the Witch raised her brows at the family affair before stuttering out. "I...would rather get more distracted by the romance between you two now...I don’t care much about Coriel as long as she’s punished after all..."

A slight hinge of silence shrouded the ridiculed witch and Yasen before it was dusted off with a Dragon Queen’s chuckle.

"I see. I thank you again, my sister." The Dragon Queen hugged her wife’s waist, who had a deadpan stare for her husband. "I bid you a safe return to our home as well, and be sure to prepare well for when our official wedding is to come."

"No, no issue, sister!" Yasen bowed as an invisibility began ashing off her legs, then her waist. "Then-then I’ll be off! Have fun on your honeymoon, big sister!"

And like dusts sprayed off in a hurry against a calm turbulent that is a romance drama, her frame was ’ashed’ off like dusts, baring the mantle of invisibility Alice’s restructured body gave unto her.

The Witch blinked, then sighed. Ah, it would seem it is not only the town that suffers Alice’s splashing bouts of chaos, huh?

Her fingertip glowed with a frosty sympathy towards the Dragon whose entire body structure had been manipulated, before turning to her husband with a frown. "So, shall we head off, my husband, who seemed all so love-struck with me?"

"Hmm? It would seem my wife has some complaints regarding this husband’s love-struck behaviours?" The serpent snaked around to the witch’s stomach again with a yelp as a response.

"Yes, of course I do." The witch blushed. "Not telling me about Alice and the Queen, as well as Alice’s little explosion, trolls went a little too far."

"Hm. Then I guess I should have ceased my dishonesty, Demond." Adrei smirked before she leaned down and pecked at her wife’s cheek.

"Demond, you’re my one and only precious wife, my witch." Adrei bit onto the Witch’s ear, her teeth sinking into a fruit that leeches out any sustenance.

"Kik-yeah, back at it again, aren’t you?" The witch pushed away the chuckling Dragon. "Teasing does not make this grudge go away, you know?"

"Yet I can tell you’re into it." The Dragon’s scaled arm smoothed over the walled ice of a frozen stall as she spoke. The grudge of the Witch’s ice was not half as palpable as the glittering frosts of Alice’s mana.

"Like-krr. Alright. I admit I don’t mind it as much as before." The Witch groaned as she leaned further into the Dragon Queen’s embrace. "But better tell me next time in case there was any surprise I don’t know, okay? I will get mad otherwise."

"On your command, my love." The Dragon Queen snuzzled her head into the witch’s hat like a puppy as the Witch puffed out a sigh in response to her husband’s childishness.

-------------

Outside Adil’s gate that finally felt...more frozen than ever, the Witch narrowed her gaze on the frozen gargaloytes that were spread evenly throughout the clearings.

"Wow...that brat sure has a flair to overkill."

After Adrei and the Witch finally went out of town, their first sight settled upon the frozen arts stuck in various positions like ’hand-to-hand’, ’shoulder-to-head’, et cetera.

And as predicted, even Adrei raised her head up in admiration for Alice’s taste in ’Perverse Artistry’, intentionally or unintentionally.

"My love, are you sure you’re not jealous instead?" The Dragon Queen’s smiley eyes darted towards the witch’s twitchy fingers which were shrouded by frosty hues.

"...not exactly?" The Witch averted her eyes as she consciously retracted her mana, yet her bare feet leaked frostbite trails for her irritation.

"Alright alright, my wife." The Dragon Queen chuckled as her arms embraced the grumbling wife. "Let us leave the gargolytes’ cleanups for now, and we’ll see if there’re any creatures you can make a nice ice statue with, yes?"

"I am not as perverted as my Daughter, Adrei!" The Witch huffed as she gritted her teeth. "Ju-just...thinking a retard who peed on the Queen’s skirt, who can only use <Fairytale> magic to control her spells can do thi-this..."

"This?"

"This intricate freezing...jesus. That brat did actually freeze the time without even knowing...." The witch groaned even louder. "Even though it took me coughing literal bloods to do it, this brat did it with a drop of snow pollen..."

"Ah...I see what you mean." The Dragon peered her gaze off the Witch. As the one who barriered against those ’pollens’, she knew first-hand what the Witch is decribing.

"Well, guess I should be proud instead, huh?" Demond sighed as her back drifted further into the Adrei’s pillows.

"Perhaps, or do you feel as if unworthy as her mentor?"

"Far from it, Adrei." The witch’s finger pinched her husband’s scaled cheek. "Far from it. Despite how it looks, I distinguish talent and practices pretty well, you know?"

"...you should retract your iced feet before you claim that." The Dragon Queen chuckled as her tail tickled the back of the Witch’s foot as her wife hissed.

"Well I’m sorry! This old man’s new body just can’t help but express a tiny, tiny little pettiness. Is that so wrong?!"

"Alright alright." The Dragon Queen nuzzled into the witch’s cheek. "I understand fully. But know that only the steadiest strengths come from relentless practices, and I know you’re the most dilligent out of them all, my saviour."

"That was...when I promised to hit it big with Leona after all..." The witch’s words trailed off, before her raised brows realised something, as she turned towards the gate of Rouen one last time.

The Dragon’s eyes twitched as she looked at the frozen gate just as the Witch did.

The Town of Rouen...who would have thought a simple visit to an old friend, would end up with them passing through glitters of ice from her daughter’s destruction?

Or perhaps fate destined for them to go on with another journey, a journey full of perils before they could have a proper peace ceremony to celebrate in quietness.

Come to think of it, because of what happened so far, Adil hasn’t given them the marriage ceremony they needed, right?

And the Dragon Queen herself...hm, she also didn’t.....

Adrei frowned as her hands loosened on the witch’s waist, as the Witch tilted her head for her husband.

"What’s wrong?"

"...you don’t need to greet your old friend again?" The Diplomat Dragon dodged the inquiry, which the witch rolled her eyes for.

"Please, me and Adil don’t need much saying. Ah, aside from her owing me a favor now." The witch smirked. "And a marriage ceremony, right off the bat!"

The Dragon blinked, before chortling her regret and guilt out. "Yeah, I would say so."

Let fix everything by tonight. The Dragon made a promise to herself.
