The Reaper's Wicked Obsession
Chapter 137: The Tables Turn (2)

Chapter 137: The Tables Turn (2)

Isadora turned away not wanting to spare him a second glance.

Kraven frowned at this, it was a frustrating reminder of his dream. He reached for her but she leaned away as if the mere contact would be not tolerated.

Having enough of her attitude, Kraven grabbed her waist and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulders like she weighed nothing.

"PUT ME DOWN!" Isadora screamed at the top of her lungs pounding her fist against his back but it did nothing to stop him as he carried her away.

Logi walked into the training ground with Cai trailing behind him just five minutes after Kraven left.

"What did I miss?" he asked, his eyes scanning everyone, taking in the tense faces around him. "Cai, did I come late?"

"Of course you did!"

"Nyssa? What happened?" He stepped closer. Cai already brief him about the situation but he needed to hear it from her.

Nyssa blinked, her senses drifting back for she had hit a time pause as she watched Kraven carry Isadora away.

She exhaled sharply trying to keep calm as she faced the lingering warriors. "Get back to your training!" she snapped, walking ahead but Logi blocked her.

"Tell me you didn’t bite more than you can chew," he said to her face.

"Get out of my way."

Logi’s eyes leveled to the mark on her chin. "I suggest you tread carefully."

Nyssa huffed at his words. "Maybe you’re brain-dead now you’re her dog."

"Nyssa!" Logi growled.

"She has infected all of you!" she snapped pushing Logi out of the way and stormed away.

The pain burned in her chest as a lone tear slid down her face. He called her Lady Raven, in front of everyone!

Why would he do such a thing?

That position was meant for her.

Not Isadora.

She had been the one by his side for winters aiming to realize his goals.

Not Isadora!

She had walked through fire for him.

NOT ISADORA!

Nyssa’s fist slammed against the wall causing a crack against the rough stone, her breath unstable.

It doesn’t matter if Isadora was Kraven’s mate. She was the one who deserved to sit by his side. Not that filthy mannfae.

That filth just can’t take it all away.

"Commandress."

"What?!" Nyssa snapped and turned to the olive-eyed warrior.

"Forgive me for interrupting." Dain eyed the result of her strength, a smile curled his lips. "You’re not called the Raven-maiden for nothing." He praised.

"If you’re here for pleasantries then I suggest you scam before I break your fucking neck."

"I do not mean any disrespect," he said. "But I’m a bit disappointed though."

"What did you say?"

"You’re the Raven-maiden of the Court, fierce, beautiful, a role model for every female warrior. Even better...the closest female to Lord Raven worthy of that name."

Nyssa narrowed her eyes at his words, pondering where this discussion was heading.

"And yet to see you like this is..." He released a sharp breath. "Underwhelming."

The sharp crack of Nyssa’s whip echoed through the air, and before Dain could even blink, the black coil had already wrapped tightly around his neck.

Dain dropped to his knees at the pressure, choking as he held the coil crushing his throat. It only tightened the more he clawed at it.

Nyssa closed the distance between them, the heels from her boots echoing through the air. "Say that again..." she threatened. "Say that I’m underwhelming again."

"I-I-I didn’t m-mean t-that." He choked. "M-Man-n-nf-f-fae!"

"What?!"

"I-I-It’s the m-mannfae fault-t-t-t."

Nyssa growled releasing him and Dain coughed holding his throat, if she had lingered longer he would have lost his head. The mere thought shook him to the core.

"It’s the mannfae fault." He breathed as he eyed her. "S-She’s the reason you’re losing your authority."

Nyssa flinched at his words. She had never thought that far ahead but hearing that out loud was a shocking truth.

Isadora had taken Kraven away from her, what stopped her from taking her authority too?

"We all heard it, he called her Lady Raven," Dain said through clenched teeth, still rattled by the whole event.

"She’s a stray and yet he called her that. You deserve that title because even though no one dares to step forward and say it, I will!" he seethed. "You’ve been by his side for winters, you don’t deserve this treatment. She have bewitched him."

Nyssa looked away, the weight of his words crushed her heart. "Get back to training." She turned on her heels attempting to walk away.

"I do not accept her as Lady Raven!" Dain barked as he rose to his feet.

Nyssa halted in her steps.

"I accept you. I want her to disappear and I know you want that too."

"What is your name warrior?" Nyssa said over her shoulder.

Dain gulped holding his aching throat. "Dain. Dain Askel."

Nyssa turned to him sharply, her eyes narrowed. "You’d tell me your father’s name?"

"Of course." He smirked. "Because we both share the same ambition."

Nyssa huffed. "Ambition? What could it possibly be?"

"I’ve always aimed to be his disciple just like you."

Nyssa stiffened at his confession.

"I envied The Faceless position for winters and prayed to be in the same spot. At the arena we all felt it, the aura that clung to the mannfae, it was enough proof she had learned under him."

It was no news that whenever there was a master and disciple, the master’s aura showed through their disciples.

"I hate that mannfae. She’s a stray that should have died at the Eating Woods, I saw it happen, yet she’s still alive and it’s unexplainable."

Nyssa’s heart skipped a beat. ’Could Kraven have...’ she gulped, recalling how Logi stated that they both cheated their wager. ’Could it be...’

"She needs to be purged!" Dain insisted.

"And why don’t you do it yourself?" Nyssa asked, smirking. "You seem...capable."

"You think I haven’t tried? She keeps defying death!"

"I know why..." Nyssa murmured as she looked away. The more she thought of it the more it broke her heart.

If they had honored their pact and killed Isadora... it wouldn’t have gotten to this. Kraven’s obsessed with Isadora.

His obsession ruined everything—her chance with him too.

"Forgive me, if I sounded harsh, it wasn’t my intention."

"It’s okay, Dain Askel. Go back to your training," she said, turning her back as she walked away.

"Commandress!"
