Chapter 375: Chapter 375 - By the time you wake up, you’ll hear the good news
Since Sabrina was in her third trimester, Robin feared that she might be experiencing premature labor, especially since they had visited the hospital the day before.
"I’m coming over," Robin declared urgently.
He arrived at Sabrina’s office in record time and immediately noticed that she wasn’t doing well.
"Let’s go to the hospital," Robin insisted, not giving Sabrina any room for argument. However, Sabrina refused and reminded him,
"We went yesterday, remember?"
All she wanted was for him to be by her side, knowing that her due date was still far off, but Robin wasn’t listening.
"It doesn’t matter."
Without further ado, Robin scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the car. At the hospital, the doctor conducted some tests and informed them,
"Your babies have dropped. That’s why you’re feeling so uncomfortable."
Both Robin and Sabrina breathed a sigh of relief when the doctor asked, "Have you experienced any false contractions?"
Sabrina shook her head. "No."
The doctor made a few notes and suggested with a gentle smile, "You can try using more pillows to make yourself more comfortable and drink plenty of water. At this stage, there isn’t much we can do about the symptoms, as they are all signs of your growing fetus."
Sabrina knew that using pillows wouldn’t be much help, but she smiled and replied, "Okay. Thank you very much."
On the way back, Sabrina noticed that Robin was driving in the wrong direction. Confused, she frowned and asked, "Where are you going? I have a meeting with the CEOs at the Crystal Hotel."
Robin was determined not to let her stress herself out in her condition. "I’ll drop you off at my office so you can rest. Don’t worry about the meeting. I’ll take care of it for you. Aria is already there, and I’ll call Laura to come over too."
Sabrina couldn’t refuse, as she was already feeling exhausted. "Okay. Thank you."
Robin was relieved that she didn’t object. He picked up some food along the way, and after they had eaten their fill and called Laura to come over, he kissed Sabrina and made sure she was comfortable before heading to the meeting.

At a secret location, Jacob urgently whispered to his mother, "Finally, I’m going to expose him. His reputation will be completely ruined this time." His excitement was palpable.
"Jacob, please reconsider. Don’t go through with this," his mother pleaded, fear evident in her eyes. However, Jacob was irritated by her concern.
"Why are you defending him? My father abandoned me, so why should he have peace?" he bitterly retorted, recalling the lies his mother had fed him to dissuade his longing for his father’s affection.
Remorse flickered in his mother’s eyes. She had tried to rectify the situation over the years, but her attempts had only made things worse as she piled one lie upon another.
"Jacob, it wasn’t his fault. He was already married."
"It doesn’t change anything," Jacob snapped, his anger mounting. "You should have told me earlier, instead of waiting until he died so his beloved son would suffer."
Fear flashed across his mother’s face, having heard that Robin had almost caught Jacob at the wedding reception.
Worried that Jacob’s plans might fail again, potentially involving the police and exposing her secrets, she was determined to do whatever it took to make him stop.
"What do you hope to achieve this time? Your previous plans have all failed," she pointed out, hoping to discourage him. But her words fell on deaf ears.
"This time will be different because I won’t tell you," Jacob declared firmly. It was strange how his plans always crumbled when he confided in his mother.
It was as if her disapproval acted as a curse upon him. That’s why he wanted to keep this master plan a secret from her until it succeeded.
His mother desperately searched for a way to help him, attempting to buy some time by promising to reveal important information once she recovered.
Jacob, please listen. Once I recover, there are some important things I need to share with you. These revelations will help you understand and hopefully stop attacking your brother."
"My half-brother. We don’t share the same mother," Jacob retorted, causing his mother to lower her head, avoiding his gaze. It was as if she feared he would see through all the lies she had told in the past.
"You’ve already told me everything. When you became pregnant with me, my father rejected me because his wife was also expecting. Why don’t you have a picture of him? Do I resemble him?" Jacob pondered, oblivious to his mother’s changing expressions, his mind consumed by thoughts of Sabrina’s beauty and Robin’s scrutinizing gaze.
"The way Robin and Sabrina looked at me, Sabrina mentioned that I seemed familiar. Mom, I don’t resemble you, so I must resemble him, right? This also implies that Robin resembles his mother," Jacob attempted to comprehend the situation.
His search for answers sent a chill down the woman’s spine, rendering her speechless. She should have realized that the world was too small for lies to go unnoticed.
"Jacob, I have a headache. Please let me rest for a while," she found the perfect excuse to say, instantly softening Jacob’s gaze.
"Of course, take a good rest. By the time you wake up, you’ll hear the good news."
Fear gripped the woman’s heart as she tightly pressed her lips together, closing her eyes. Warm lips pressed against her cheeks.
"Mom, I love you very much and thank you for all the sacrifices you’ve made for me."
As she heard her son’s fading footsteps, tears she had held back began to fall.
She stood up and went to swallow some sleeping pills, unable to sleep ever since Jacob discovered Robin’s whereabouts. She already knew her end had come.

After a few hours, Sabrina woke up and realized the room was dark. She reached for her phone to call Robin, assuming he had returned and was in the office.
Feeling too lazy to get out of bed, she was also consumed by hunger. Nevertheless, she noticed some pop-ups on her phone and checked out of curiosity, as there were many of them.
News and pictures of Robin from all angles made her dizzy. In frustration, she threw the phone against the wall, causing it to fall and break.
