Chapter 376: Chapter 376 – The media representatives have surrounded the building

Robin arrived on time for the meeting and smoothly delivered all the reports on behalf of Sabrina.

He portrayed himself as Sabrina’s husband and business partner, and no one dared to question him.

Most of the CEOs worked under him, and even those who didn’t still saw him as more powerful than them.

With Robin’s presence, everything moved faster than expected. After the CEOs left, Robin stayed back with his bodyguard to compile the responses to the report for Sabrina, occasionally sipping water.

He wanted to order supper, but knowing that grandma Cecilia would be home waiting for them, he knew she wouldn’t accept that Robin had allowed Sabrina to eat out when she was there.

Suddenly, his eyes grew heavy with a warning to sleep, which was very strange. "Joe, I feel strangely exhausted," Robin complained, unable to hold it any longer.

He grabbed his phone to alert Laura or Aria to let Sabrina know that he might be late returning to the office because he wanted to take a nap.

"Sir, I don’t know why I’m feeling so sleepy. I hardly ever nap during the day and even at night, it’s only for a few..." he trailed off when he saw that Robin’s head was on the table with his phone in his hand.

Joe attempted to carry him to one of the hotel rooms but collapsed on the floor, unconscious.

The door opened and two men entered, wearing face masks. One of them waved their hand in front of Joe’s face and said,

"It worked. The knockout gas was super-fast."

Robin had no idea that the vents had been tampered with and knockout gas had been pumped through them. One of the men injected him with a sedative to sleep longer since the gas would wear off as soon as he was carried out of the room.

"I honestly didn’t think it would work like the boss said. This is something I’ve never used before, but since the hotel staff were so vigilant that we couldn’t tamper with their water, this was the best option," the second man said.

"Let’s carry him," the first one said, as his counterpart injected Joe as well. They were already trying to lift Robin, while the second man asked,

"What about the bodyguard?"

"We will come back for him. We can lock him up in the closet," the first guard said as they carried Robin out of the conference room, unconcerned about the cameras, most of which had been tampered with.

In the Presidential suite, a half-naked woman awaited on the large luxurious bed as Robin was gently placed beside her, the guards afraid he might wake up.

The woman stared at his handsome features admiringly, not knowing who Robin was. She had been brought in from a different state because most of the girls they tried to hire had refused the job.

They all remembered the public ridicule and pain Robin had caused Zayla, and none dared to come close to him.

"I wish he wasn’t sleeping. I would have loved to have him for real," the woman said flirtatiously, running her fingers through Robin’s curly hair.

"Do what you must. We don’t have time," one of the men said in annoyance as they went to bring the bodyguard.

By the time they locked him inside the closet, the woman had finished undressing Robin and laid beside him.

One of the men pulled out a camera and said, "ready."

The girl proceeded to manipulate Robin’s unconscious body into various compromising positions. After a few minutes, she kissed Robin’s forehead and said, "done."

The men then informed their boss over the phone, "sir, the job is done."

The man on the other end of the line smiled, pleased with the successful outcome.

He instructed his hacker, "Wipe everything from the cameras. Don’t keep any backups for anyone to hack into. Even the phones of the men I sent and that of the woman should be hacked and all traces removed." He paused and added,

"Then use an anonymous number to send it to the media with the words I’m about to say to you."

The hacker, though unhappy with the task, didn’t have the courage to speak up. "Yes sir, I’m listening," he responded with a forced smile.

The man then began to dictate the words to be sent to the media.

"The circulating pictures of President Robin Jewel of the Jewel Group of Companies suggest that he may not be as remorseful and in love with his ex-wife as he claims to be. Secret cameras caught the president in one of his hotels, specifically the Crystal Hotel, with an unidentified woman.

He paused and swallowed his spew before he continued, as the hacker was quickly typing out the words on a notepad.

"After all that the President confessed that his ex-wife did for him, he still could not be faithful and treat her like the queen he deceitfully calls her. I must say that his ex-wife must equally be blinded by love to be with him, or better still, has no self-value."

It was almost as if his long lecture had ended, but then, as if he just remembered something, he added,

"I believe he is still in the hotel with his secret lover. If you don’t believe me, then go to Presidential suite number 2501 at the Crystal Hotel to see."

The news circulated like wildfire and nasty comments flew in all angles. As Sabrina watched the pictures and read the wordings, she quivered.

In frustration, she threw the phone against the wall, causing it to fall and break.

"Miss James, are you alright?" Laura entered the inner room and asked with concern when she heard the unusual noise.

She had also seen and heard the news, suspecting it was the reason for Sabrina’s agitation. However, Sabrina’s response brought tears to her eyes.

"How can I be okay when someone is trying so hard to ruin Robin’s reputation? He worked so hard and yet, this happened," Sabrina complained, tears welling up in her eyes.

It took time for her words to sink in as Laura asked, "Wait, you don’t believe it?"

Sabrina shook her head and explained, "Robin would never do that. Before, maybe, but not the kind of man he is now."

Laura was shocked, wondering how Sabrina could still believe that Robin was innocent when the evidence was so clear.

Those pictures didn’t look edited. "People change."

Sabrina shook her head in disagreement and wiped her tears. "I saw him before he left for the meeting. Laura, even if Robin would be weak enough to hurt me, it wouldn’t be when I’m pregnant with his children."

Laura froze, realizing that Robin was not so heartless to hurt his heavily pregnant ex-wife. "You’re right. Something must be wrong."

"Something is very wrong," Sabrina agreed, searching her mind on whom to ask for help, as her phone began ringing. At the same time, the door opened and Aria turned on the light since it was growing dark.

She announced, "The media representatives have surrounded the building."
