Chapter 344: Chapter 344 - You’re lucky you didn’t touch her

Robin was furious. Although he flaunted Sabrina around, he didn’t like people talking about her, especially someone like Don Kane, who had peculiar motives.

After all the stunts Shandra pulled, it wasn’t hard to tell that the father and daughter were both up to something.

"I came here to discuss business and will not discuss my wife with you," Robin stated matter-of-factly. Don Kane smiled and said,

"Robin, you should first listen to the things I know about her that you don’t."

He hoped that the information his daughter gave him was right since he did not have time to investigate the source.

Whichever way, he was certain that his daughter would not lie to him.

"You know nothing about my wife," Robin said sternly, leaving no room for argument. But for a man on a mission, Don Kane was far from giving up.

"I am ready to show and prove it all to you."

I’m not interested," Robin declared, completely unfazed by whatever the man had to say.

However, being over twenty years older than Robin, Don Kane possessed a wealth of manipulating tricks.

"Are you truly uninterested, or are you simply afraid that she isn’t the woman you believe her to be?" he questioned, indirectly challenging Robin in an attempt to gain his unsolicited attention.

Nevertheless, Robin had grown wiser over the years and was certain that no words from Don Kane could sway his opinion.

A small smirk formed on the corner of Don Kane’s lips. Robin was as stubborn as his daughter had described, but he couldn’t help but acknowledge that his daughter was right about one thing - she was the perfect woman for Robin.

That was precisely why he had to follow her plan, especially considering Sabrina’s hidden secrets.

"Listen, Don Kane. Nothing you say about my wife will ever change the love I have for her," Robin stated firmly, causing Don Kane to respond with a wry smile.

He couldn’t help but blame himself for his daughter’s inability to be with Robin. If only they hadn’t been forced to move to another state after her college graduation, he believed that Robin’s marriage to Sabrina would never have occurred.

Still, he believed he had enough evidence to dissolve the marriage without explicitly stating his concerns.

"Even if she’s not faithful to you?" he asked calmly, irritating Robin. He knew Sabrina was the most loyal woman he had ever encountered.

She had loved only him throughout her life, and he remembered being the one who took her virginity, albeit in a painful manner.

Robin despised anyone speaking ill of his ex-wife.

"I’m sorry, but you’re delusional if you think saying such things about my wife will divert my attention to your daughter," Robin responded bluntly, causing Don Kane’s expression to harden.

However, since he possessed evidence, he was determined not to give up and asked once more, "Who is Michael Conney?"

The name sounded unfamiliar to Robin, and he replied, "I have no idea who that is."

"Then why don’t you ask your wife?" Don Kane challenged him. Robin shook his head, as there was no reason to suspect Sabrina, and questioning her would only confirm those suspicions.

"There is no need," Robin stated firmly.

Don Kane’s irritation grew as he observed Robin’s unwavering trust in the undeserving woman.

However, his frustration subsided when he realized that Robin was simply unaware of the truth.

He calmly inquired,

"Mr. Jewel, you seem to be infatuated with the wrong woman. It was right for you to divorce her, and it is wrong for her to manipulate you with a pregnancy. I even question if the child is truly yours."

Robin’s face flushed with anger, and he erupted, "Mr. Kane, I could sue you for defamation!" He vehemently defended Sabrina against the accusations.

Unfortunately for Robin, his outburst only fueled Don Kane’s determination, as he believed he had struck a nerve.

Maintaining his composure, Mr. Kane responded, "I have no issue with that."

"Perhaps it would be best if we severed our business ties. I don’t believe I need these," Robin declared, glaring at the documents on the glass table.

Preparing to leave, Robin was halted by Don Kane’s words, "The matter concerning Sabrina is separate from our business. Please do not mix the two."

Robin turned around, his gaze darkening. "I refuse to engage in any business dealings with someone who spreads baseless accusations about my wife."

"I have evidence. See for yourself," Mr. Kane asserted, retrieving another set of documents and tossing them onto the table alongside the previous ones. "If you truly trust your wife, then there should be no harm in taking a look."

Determined to stand by his beliefs, Robin reluctantly opened the envelopes. His eyes narrowed upon seeing an old photograph of Sabrina embracing an unknown man.

However, he quickly regained his composure and dropped the pictures without examining the next one in the envelope.

"These are outdated pictures. We weren’t even married at the time," Robin defended Sabrina, attempting to refute the evidence presented.

From the appearance and background of the pictures, he correctly deduced that they were old school photos.

"You haven’t seen them all," Don Kane insisted, determined to prove him wrong. To challenge him further, Robin picked up the document and began examining the pictures one by one.

As he flipped through the images, Don Kane started explaining,

"You’re not the only man your wife claims to love. Before her abduction, she reunited with Michael Conney, and they have been secretly communicating ever since."

Robin didn’t like what he saw in the pictures, but strangely, he couldn’t bring himself to believe any of them. Despite this, he remained calm.

"That’s not true. Her phone isn’t even locked. These are photoshopped pictures, and I refuse to believe it," Robin said, aware of advanced technologies that could create realistic and deceptive images.

"Then ask her about it. Don’t make decisions for her. I believe she doesn’t lie," Don Kane said, indirectly suggesting that Sabrina might lie to him.

However, Robin maintained a calm resolve and responded,

"I believe my wife doesn’t lie. But if even one of these pictures has been edited, I will ensure you leave this city with your tail between your legs."

Don Kane felt the weight of the threat, but he didn’t back down. Instead, he asked,

"And what if it’s true? What if the child she’s carrying isn’t even yours?"

Robin let out a humorless chuckle. Just as he was about to respond, one of his bodyguards entered the booth and announced, "Don Kane, our female guest slapped the young mistress, and her bodyguards refused to let us touch her."

Robin frowned slightly at the fact that they had even attempted to touch her. "Consider yourself lucky you didn’t touch her," he said coldly.
