Chapter 338: Chapter 338 – Enjoying each other’s company

"Do you want to talk to her?" Sabrina asked, interrupting Devin’s conversation with Robin.

Devin glared at the name on Sabrina’s phone’s screen, and a new surge of anger took over him.

"No. I don’t even want to see her."

Sabrina turned around and answered the call. "Tilda, we found him."

There was a sigh of relief at the end of the line, but what surprised Sabrina was the fact that Matilda did not even ask to speak directly to Devin. Instead, she asked directly,

"Thank you, but can you get the code for me?"

Sabrina couldn’t take it and asked in anger,

"You haven’t even asked about his condition. The penthouse isn’t a prison, and as far as I know, you have everything you need there, including food and water to last you for at least four weeks."

Matilda was teary upon realizing that Sabrina misunderstood her intention and explained,

"I want to come and take care of him."

Sabrina relaxed upon realizing that Matilda hadn’t turned completely heartless and asked Devin,

"She wants the code to the penthouse."

Devin sneered, "She won’t have it because I don’t trust her."

Before Sabrina could rephrase Devin’s words nicely to Matilda, the latter retorted with a forced smile,

"I heard it, and it’s okay that he’s fine and you are there for him," Matilda said and ended the call, feeling depressed.

She wondered why she wasn’t feeling any better. This was exactly why she didn’t want Devin to know, because he would make a big deal out of nothing.

He had already made his stance clear and locked her up, but he still made her feel like a sinner. Matilda was confused, and for the first time, she didn’t even miss school.

It felt like when she was locked in her room in her father’s mansion. Perhaps being locked up was what she deserved, since freedom wasn’t good for someone like her.

"Devin, I think you should take these pills, shower, eat, and then let’s have a serious talk," Robin said, handing Devin a glass of water and some pills to help with his hangover.

The pungent scent of alcohol had taken over the atmosphere, so after swallowing the pills, Robin helped him to the bathroom and gave him some of his clothes to wear.

When he returned, he sent an email to Aria, while asking Sabrina, "What do you want for breakfast, my queen?"

"I’m not hungry," Sabrina responded dryly. Devin and Matilda’s relationship was taking a toll on her. Robin didn’t need to ask why, as he had already guessed, but he insisted on it because of her condition.

"But you have to eat. I will make toast for all of us."

Sabrina loved the way he had changed, but somehow, she had gotten so used to his presence that even the little time he spent away in the kitchen began to worry her.

She put her worries into a suggestion.

"My King, I think we should hire a chef. I prefer you by my side rather than in the kitchen."

Robin smiled, and his heart danced with joy. He loved to cook for her, but the fact that she loved his presence excited him, causing him to drop his phone on the center table as he inched closer to her.

"Such words coming from you make my heart swell with sweetness," he wrapped his arms around her waist and said honestly. Sabrina smiled brightly and asked him,

"So, shall we hire the chef?"

Due to her reason for requesting a chef, Robin could not refuse, as he also wanted to spend more time with her.

"Your wish is my command, but I will still cook once in a while," he said honestly.

However, Sabrina still had another request and said, "During those times, we would have to do it together."

Robin didn’t need to ask because it made perfect sense that she loved his presence. It was something Robin had wished for a long time, but he wasn’t expecting it to happen so soon.

"That’s not a bad idea, but only if you’re up for it," he kissed her on the forehead and said. Sabrina beamed and asked him,

"I’ll be up for it, and when is grandma coming over?"

Robin frowned at the question, feeling that Cecilia would come and take Sabrina’s attention away from him because of how much Sabrina loved the old woman.

"Are you already bored with me?" he asked in a slightly offended tone. Sabrina stood on her toes, kissed him on the nose, and said,

"I could never be bored with you."

Robin’s gaze lowered to her stomach, and he lovingly rubbed her bump. Kneeling in front of her, he kissed it before standing up and saying,

"Okay. During your third trimester, I’ll go and bring her over. But until the chef arrives, I’ll make breakfast. He can take care of lunch and dinner."

Sabrina understood that the chef would arrive in the afternoon and insisted, "Let’s do it together."

"If you insist," Robin smiled and said, as he loved having her presence everywhere around him.

By the time breakfast was ready, Devin was sitting on the sofa in the living room. He looked good in Robin’s clothes, but his expression was stoic.

Robin motioned for him to join him at the dining table, and they had their breakfast together in a comfortable silence.

In Robin’s study, Devin and Robin sat facing each other.

"Devin, I’m very disappointed in the choices you’ve made. Alcohol doesn’t heal. I’ve been there, done that multiple times," Robin said seriously.

Sabrina was in the living room, sending emails and watching TV, giving them the privacy they needed.

Devin shook his head, looking pained and lost as he asked, "Who else could I talk to?"

His question only increased Robin’s disappointment, and he shook his head.

"I thought we were family. I came to you when I needed help with Sabrina’s favorite dish, so why couldn’t you see me as family and come to me?" he asked calmly, making Devin feel guilty.
