Chapter 310: Chapter 310 – Sabrina, I have a big problem
Robin, should she endure torture or find comfort?" Sabrina asked icily.
Zayla tensed, fear evident in her eyes. She knew Robin would do anything to please Sabrina, especially since she had saved his life.
But now, with her mind haunted by those horrific experiences, she couldn’t bear to go through them again.
Her eyes welled up with tears, though she appeared slightly better than before. Being tortured and then nursed back to health, only to be tortured again, was the most excruciating ordeal she had ever endured.
Zayla didn’t want to be nursed back to life; she wanted to die, but it seemed like an impossible wish.
"Sabrina, please, you have no idea what they’ve done to me. Please, Sabrina, I take full responsibility, but have mercy on me."
Sabrina was taken aback when she saw Zayla looking better than Mara, which only fueled her resentment.
Zayla was the only woman who dared to invade Sabrina’s personal space, making it difficult for Sabrina to tolerate her presence.
Not only had Zayla deceived Sabrina, but she also relished in the fact that she was engaged to Robin, even though they had never been intimate.
Sabrina couldn’t accept that Zayla once had the opportunity to be close to Robin.
The sound of Zayla pleading woke her father from his slumber, but upon seeing Robin, he pretended to be asleep, unable to assist his daughter.
He blamed Zayla entirely for their predicament, believing that if she hadn’t made those foolish confessions after being tricked, they wouldn’t be in this situation.
As Kennedy contemplated the situation, anger consumed his heart towards his daughter, and he found himself unable to muster any care.
Robin wasn’t taken aback by Sabrina’s feelings, considering Zayla appeared much improved compared to the last time he saw her with Devin.
"My queen, things are not as they seem. She is set to begin her trial on Monday. That’s why I requested the doctor to aid in her recovery. However, if you have the strength, you can watch the videos of her torture," Robin explained.
"I wouldn’t recommend it, Brina," Devin cautioned, having already witnessed the videos and seen Zayla at the hospital during her initial visit.
Sabrina had been vomiting frequently after witnessing Mara and Martin’s torture. Devin was certain she would vomit again if she were to witness Zayla’s ordeal.
"Can she be subjected to further torture after her initial trial?" Sabrina inquired, surprising everyone. Little did they know, she would go to any lengths to protect her children, whether they were born or unborn.
Zayla’s face turned pale as her hopes crumbled. Sabrina was no longer the person she once knew, and Zayla could sense that this new version of Sabrina desired her blood.
She couldn’t rely on Robin for help either, as he was even worse than Sabrina. So, Zayla found herself waiting for her fate to be determined by these two individuals.
With nothing left, Zayla could only pray that she wouldn’t be subjected to the same torturous treatment.
Even if she managed to serve her jail term in the years to come, she doubted she would ever have a life again, as she was completely destitute.
"Once the lawyers present the cases against her, she is supposed to be in police custody," Robin explained.
However, Sabrina remained unsatisfied and wished for the trial time to be extended.
"Then allow another week for the trial. Let her endure further torment."
Zayla’s eyes welled up with tears. If she could cry blood, she would have. She knew she wouldn’t be able to survive another round of torture and was certain that death would not be granted to her.
"Please, Sabrina, please don’t do this. I’ve already lost everything. I am nothing," Zayla pleaded as Robin signaled for the bodyguards to escort her back to the torture chamber.
Having previously been informed by Robin about Zayla’s ongoing torture and even offering her the opportunity to witness it, Sabrina felt compelled to give it a chance.
"Stop!" Sabrina yelled.
The bodyguards halted, and Robin looked puzzled as he asked,
"My queen, have you changed your mind?"
"I think I will watch the video first." The atmosphere around Sabrina turned icy, leaving Robin astonished by her sudden transformation.
Her brother and Matilda were equally taken aback.
Meanwhile, Zayla silently prayed that the pain she had endured thus far would be enough to convince Sabrina to spare her from further torment.
In the same room, Robin played the video on his phone for Sabrina. He hadn’t expected her to possess such resilience, but witnessing the strength she had gained from her experiences with Martin, Robin was no longer unsettled.
However, as Sabrina continued watching the video, she suddenly felt the familiar movement and discomfort in her stomach, prompting her to urgently request the use of the washroom.
Recognizing that she wouldn’t be able to make it in time on her own, Robin swiftly carried her, anticipating what was about to happen.
As expected, Sabrina emptied the contents of her stomach once again, this time consisting only of the water she had consumed on their journey, as she had already expelled a significant amount while witnessing Mara and Martin’s torture.
Observing how Robin tenderly cared for Sabrina, Zayla came to the realization that his love was solely reserved for her.
It became evident that Robin had never truly loved Zayla, even when he was unaware that Sabrina had saved his life.
The stark contrast in his responses to Sabrina and Zayla became apparent, leaving Zayla feeling as though all her efforts to win his affection had been in vain.
I think you did a great job. Let’s go," Sabrina said after washing her face.
The torture experienced by the three individuals was different, but equally terrible for each of them.
However, Robin decided to playfully tease her and asked, "Do you want to witness her father’s torture as well?"
Sabrina pondered carefully. Considering the person who had killed Robin’s mother, she could already imagine the horrifying nature of it.
"No, I trust you," she politely declined. Robin smiled at the mention of the word ’trust.’
"Thank you. Your trust means more to me than your love," he sincerely expressed, as they exited the washroom. Sabrina furrowed her brow slightly and inquired,
"Why is that?"
Before Robin could respond, a familiar voice spoke from behind Sabrina.
"Robin, can I borrow Sabrina for a few minutes please?" It was Matilda, and she appeared distressed. Robin agreed,
"Sure."
He walked away with Daniel and Devin, while Sabrina headed to a corner with Matilda. The latter began,
"Sabrina, I have a major problem."
