Chapter 309 – The end of Martin
Chapter 309: Chapter 309 – The end of Martin
Devin, please, help me," Martin pleaded desperately.
He was well aware of the precariousness of his situation, but in this moment, he didn’t care. All he wanted was to avoid suffering the same fate as Mara, who had already met her demise.
There was nothing he could do for her now. His only option was to swallow his pride, secure his freedom, and seek revenge later.
Martin was prepared to do whatever it took, even if it meant groveling at Devin’s feet. He knew he wouldn’t hesitate to go through with it.
Devin was taken aback by the plea, questioning whether Martin had mistaken him for someone else.
The memories of everything that had transpired just five days ago were still vivid in Devin’s mind, particularly when Martin had forcibly taken Sabrina away.
Then memories of how he drugged Sabrina and coerced her into signing those papers, causing her to faint, haunted him.
Devin couldn’t forget how Martin had covered up and shielded Mara from facing the consequences of her actions for all these years, leaving him shaking his head in dismay.
"You expect me to lend you a hand?" Devin asked mockingly, but Martin seemed unfazed by the taunting.
Martin nodded, his face marred by bruises and multiple black eyes. Fresh blood trickled down his nose, and his swollen mouth made it difficult for him to speak.
"Have you conveniently forgotten my warning, Martin? You’re lucky that everyone here wants a piece of you, because I personally wanted to be the one to end you," Devin spat coldly, infuriated that Martin had the audacity to ask for his help.
Martin didn’t care. Mara was dead, so he knew he was next and couldn’t allow that to happen.
He wished he had faced trial and gone to jail, or even fallen into the hands of the police.
He could have found a way to fake his death and escape police custody, but with these relentless vultures lurking, he didn’t see the necessity.
Sabrina was the only one who would have showed kindness towards Martin, but he knew that after what he had done to her, she would never forgive him.
He realized that Robin always got what he wanted and should have carefully considered his plans.
Martin regretted his impulsive actions, but he also knew it was too late for him.
However, no matter how much pain Martin endured, he would always push it aside and plead with all his might.
"Please, you’re still my closest companion."
"Hahahha," Devin chuckled. The biggest mistake he ever made was befriending Martin. He vowed to never be foolish for this imbecile again.
"Because you pursued Sabrina. You didn’t care if she reciprocated," Devin pointed out, his eyes filled with darkness and his heart craving revenge.
"He threatened to terminate my pregnancy," Sabrina added, her voice trembling as she recalled those words that nearly shattered her heart.
Robin’s gaze turned dangerously dark, but Martin was already a dead man. As a result, Robin relaxed slightly.
Devin shook his head in disdain at Sabrina’s revelation, wondering how he could have made the mistake of not seeing Martin for the monster he truly was.
"You wanted to abort my nieces and nephews from her womb, and now you’re asking for my help? Martin, death is too good for you. You protected your sister," Devin accused.
Martin was already in agony, but the news that Sabrina was carrying twins for Robin pained him deeply.
If given the chance, he would still have forcibly removed the twins from her womb.
He didn’t regret his actions, only the approach he had taken. No amount of pain inflicted upon him in the name of torture could compare to the pain in his heart.
"She’s his girlfriend," Sabrina chimed in once again, leaving Matilda and Devin in a state of shock.
Matilda’s eyes widened with confusion as she asked,
"How is that even possible?"
Sabrina quickly explained, "Mara is obsessed with him, but they aren’t even related by blood."
Daniel, who already knew about the situation, remained unsurprised.
However, Matilda’s curiosity got the best of her, and she eagerly requested,
"Tell me more about it."
Sabrina smiled and replied,
"I’ll fill you in later. I’ve had enough for now. Robin, let’s go."
Her stomach churned with unease, making it difficult for her to witness any more torment.
As Sabrina turned to leave with Robin, Martin’s heart sank. He silently cursed Robin while desperately pleading with Sabrina,
"Sabrina, please. Everything I did was because I love you."
Upset and frustrated, Sabrina turned to the general and politely asked,
"Dad, are you sure he has been adequately tortured? He doesn’t sound like he’s experienced any pain at all."
Martin felt another sharp pain in his chest, but Sabrina showed no pity towards him.
The general, however, was impressed by her unwavering determination and spoke reassuringly.
"Don’t worry, dear," the general said, nodding towards one of the guards. "He will be dead in the next few minutes."
Sabrina turned around, but the fading screams confirmed that Martin was enduring yet another round of torture.
Despite the gruesome scene, Robin was amazed by Sabrina’s resolute attitude.
"You did even better than I expected," Robin said, amusement evident in his voice. "Are you ready to see Zayla now?"
Sabrina nodded, but she also wanted Matilda to accompany them, as she had expressed a desire to talk afterwards.
"Yes, but shouldn’t we wait for the others?" Sabrina questioned.
"Don’t worry, Devin will bring them," Robin assured as he opened the car door for her.
Robin drove Sabrina to an isolated house where they stopped.
"Is this where you kept her?" Sabrina inquired, to which Robin nodded and replied,
"Yes, but it’s not what it appears to be from the outside."
Devin and Daniel arrived with Matilda, and they all entered the house together.
Zayla was startled awake by the sensation of ice-cold water on her body. She shivered and quickly opened her eyes, only to find ice cubes on her bed.
She realized she was chained and unable to move from her current position.
When she saw Sabrina’s gaze, a glimmer of hope filled her heart, as Sabrina had always been kind. However, that hope quickly faded when Sabrina spoke...
