Each attempted breath was a shallow, rasping gasp, as though the air itself had abandoned her.

Her throat burned, the pressure unbearable, while her heartbeat pounded furiously in her ears, drowning out all other sounds.

Dark spots began to dot her vision, spreading like ink on paper, creeping inward until the edges of the world blurred and wavered.

Her chest heaved in desperation, muscles straining for oxygen that never came.

’His mother! Mention his mother! He will let you live for his mother’s sake.’

The killing intent in Long Yifan’s eyes slowly turned blank, and his grip slightly loosened, it wasn’t enough to give Gu Aihan a complete break but now she could say more words.

The killing intent in Long Yifan’s eyes reappeared and Gu Aihan realised that she had used the wrong card. Without hesitation, she used the guilt-inducing card.

"Long Yifan! Stop right there! Do you still remember how your mother who was perfectly healthy and fine, after giving birth to you contracted an illness?

Did you forget that she could have survived for a few more years but she protected you from the assassination attempt and her lifespan shortened?

Do you still remember how she cut down her portion of food ration just so she could feed you?

Each time she sacrificed for you, her lifespan shortened. But you! You are an ingrate! You can’t even fulfill her wish! Pathetic!"

Her words caused Long Yifan to collapse on the ground.

He loved his mother. Yet his mother suffered so much for him and his sister. Hence even though he could have ignored his mother’s last wish and went to pursue Gu Jin, he couldn’t.

Could he forget the sacrifices made by his mother for a woman he had loved for the past 3 years?

"I heard you stopped the boat from leaving and waited for me to return."

An impeccable smile appeared on Gu Jin’s face. Her focus was shifted by Professor Meng’s words.

"If my guess is correct we are in Forgotten Elemental World."

Gu Jin’s mind raced when she heard the word ’World’

This was the reason why she believed she would one day find a way to return to Earth. This magic world had a portal that led to different worlds.

"Forgotten Elemental World? I have never heard of such a place?"

"Me too. As long as I remember last time the military training happened in Green World."

"Isn’t it because of the newly admitted batch?"

Beijing University only recruits 200 people per year. But even this quota remains unfulfilled because many can’t have an awakened indigo mana.

Only 100 or so juniors are admitted to the college each year.

"Forgotten Elemental World was the place where the selection of Mighty Mage couple used to take place."

The first condition of becoming a Mighty Mage couple was to have a partner...a male partner.
