The Mighty Mage
Chapter 318: Supreme Class Beast

Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Supreme Class Beast

And wasn’t the daughter and son in the story of her grandfather should be responsible for becoming the mighty mage?

Who was she to interfere?

"So? Shouldn’t there be a teleportation array?" Someone else commented.

Everyone understood the person’s intent to change the subject and decided to go along.

"Yeah! Shouldn’t there be a teleportation array or some special forces?"

Professor Meng and Cu Han’s faces fell. Some of them who knew the truth were sad too. Yan Mei who happened to know the truth said with a sigh,

"That is the problem. Before this place was called Elemental World. It suppresses the power of all other elements except for the elements present around you.

It was a perfect training ground and competition ground until a group of supreme class beasts were found."

Supreme Class Beasts—just the mention of them sent chills down their spines.

These were creatures of unmatched strength and cunning, known for their ability to decimate entire armies.

Even Heaven Rank Mages can’t deal a heavy blow to them. It was only after the emergence of the Supreme Class Beast that the mages knew that beyond Heaven Ranks lies other ranks too.

Only it has never been achieved.

To hear they once roamed this very land was both fascinating and terrifying.

"But..." one student ventured cautiously, their voice trembling, "weren’t they eradicated? I mean, it’s been centuries since anyone has reported seeing a Supreme Class Beast."

Yan Mei shook her head slowly, her expression grim.

"That’s the story most people know," she said, her tone heavy with the weight of knowledge. "But the truth is, they were never eradicated. They were contained."

"Contained? Does that mean they’re still alive? Just waiting for the right moment to break out?"

"Yes," Yan Mei answered, her tone even more somber. "That’s exactly it."

Another voice broke the tense quiet, this one coming from a student who was clearly trying to make sense of the new reality.

"How did it happen? How did the Supreme Class Beasts even get into the Elemental World in the first place?"

Professor Meng stepped forward, his expression dark and full of the unspoken knowledge that had weighed on him for years.

"It was a long time ago, before any of you were born," he began, his voice rough, as if the memories still haunted him.

"The Elemental World was originally a perfect training ground, a place where mages could hone their skills in isolation, without the interference of other elements.

It was a place designed for competition, for pushing the limits of one’s abilities. But everything changed when the Supreme Class Beasts were discovered. At first, it was only a handful of sightings, and then..."

He paused, clearly struggling with the gravity of what he was about to say.

"Then, there was an outbreak. These beasts, creatures that no one had seen before, appeared in droves.

They were too powerful—too unpredictable. It became clear that no one, not even the mightiest of mages, could stand against them.

At that point, the competition for the Mighty Mage couple—what you all are so eager to participate in—was moved to another world, far from the Elemental World.

The portal to the Elemental World was sealed, and it was then renamed the Forgotten Elemental World.

After that, it was thought to be nothing more than a dangerous relic, sealed off from the rest of existence."

"Then why are we here?!" A voice rang out from the back, sharp with panic.

"Why would anyone bring us to a place that was once a prison for monsters? Are we just supposed to train and hope they never come back?"

Another student groaned, his face pale with fear.

"What if one of them shows up while we’re here? Are we supposed to fight them? Against all the odds?"

Yan Mei sighed deeply, her eyes filled with understanding and something akin to regret.

"That’s where the story takes an even darker turn. The portal to the Forgotten Elemental World was sealed for centuries, and it wasn’t until much later that it was reopened by a... rather foolish couple."

A collective gasp echoed.

Cu Han sneered,

"That’s an understatement. This couple was obsessed with the idea of becoming the Mighty Mage couple.

They didn’t care for the warnings. They broke into the Forgotten Elemental World, thinking they could use it as their own personal training ground."

"Are you serious?" a student asked, incredulous. "They reopened the portal themselves?"

Yan Mei nodded,

"Yes. They did. And, against all odds, they managed to defeat the Supreme Class Beasts—killed them, one by one—and became the Mighty Mage couple. But..." She trailed off, shaking her head.

"They made a grave mistake. Their overconfidence, their disregard for the greater consequences of their actions—it led to their downfall."

"They were dismissed," Cu Han added solemnly. "Not just from their positions as Mighty Mage couple, but from the world itself. "

The students looked at each other, confused and horrified. "What mistake did they make?" one asked cautiously.

"No one knows." Yan Mei shook her head. "They were just removed from the history completely."

The atmosphere turned silent.

Finally, a student spoke, their voice tinged with a mix of fear and relief.

"At least... at least they killed the Supreme Class Beasts, right? We won’t have to face them?"

Professor Meng shook his head slowly, his face grim.

"That’s where you’re wrong. No one was able to kill all of them. As a matter of fact, after the last one fell, something changed.

We discovered that there were still more out there—more waiting. And when two Supreme Class Beasts were found within the Magic World, there was no other choice but to reopen the portal from the Magic World to the Forgotten Elemental World."

Another gasp sounded.

"From then on," Professor Meng continued, "whenever a Supreme Class Beast is detected, it is immediately sent to the Forgotten Elemental World. And that’s why we are here now.

Maybe this time by some mistake the destination portal was tampered with and we all ended in up here."

A chill ran down the spine of every student.

The thought that at any moment, they could be thrust into a battle with these beasts, with no warning, was more terrifying than any challenge they had ever faced before.

Gu Jin’s heart, too, was filled with an overwhelming sense of dread. Her right eyelid suddenly started to twitch.

"So... does that mean we could die any moment?" she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible.

Yan Mei met her gaze, her eyes soft with empathy.

"Yes. But that’s the reality of what we’re dealing with now. You need to be ready for anything."

"Why don’t we all just die? I have seen it in the news channels before. Even an army consisting of 1000s of soldiers can’t defeat the Supreme Class beas. How can we students who are either just at advanced or super or emperor rank, can defeat them?"

"Exactly! I don’t want to live! I might as well die."

One by one the students’ wails of misery started to echo, each of them only had one thought they were done for.

Gu Jin coldly glanced at the student.

The majority of them were just 21 and it was understandable that they were unstable after suffering so much, but she was truly disappointed when she heard their words.

Die since death was inevitable? So why didn’t they die when they were born after all at some point they will die anyway, right?

Stupid. They should think of how to survive instead of just thinking of dying.

After analyzing their conversation and looking at Professor Meng’s slightly ugly but rather calm face, Gu Jin already had a guess in her mind, and she asked Professor Meng,

"If what you are saying is true then why haven’t those supreme class beasts arrived here yet?"

Gu Aihan who was waiting for Gu Jin to make a mistake instantly said,

"Miss Gu Jin you shouldn’t say such jinxing words, what if they come true?"

Gu Aihan’s words ignited the anger in the heart of the students and they started to curse Gu Jin,

"What the f*ck! Can’t she speak positively, does she have to be so pessimistic?"

"Hey! Shut up! If any supreme class beast may arrive, I will throw you right at its mouth!"

"Yeah! Can you not say ominous words?"

Gu Jin calmly faced those words with a chuckle,

"Do you think you can survive by shouting at me? I am being practical. I don’t to be caught off guard. I pointed this fact out because I think maybe we still have a chance to survive."

Ignoring the angry faces of some students, she asked Professor Meng,

"I don’t believe that there is no security measure for this world. Even though this is the dumping ground of humanity, they won’t just dump supreme-class beasts without any thought that some other human may enter this place accidentally.

Or maybe...is this island the safety zone?"
