Just as Gu Jin was reading the comments, someone called her.

Looking at the name flashing on her phone, Gu Jin pressed her lips together before picking it up.

"Good afternoon master. How are you now? Did you complete your admission process?" Luo Meng’s cheerful voice came from the other side.

Gu Jin smiled,

"Good afternoon. I am good. Yes, I did. How is your injury right now?"

A hint of concern flashed in her eyes.

Luo Meng got injured while saving her. In a way, he was her savior. However what Gu Jin couldn’t figure out was, when Luo Meng had such a powerful trump card.

Even she couldn’t have defeated Lamashtu on her own.

Since she was busy hunting parasites she didn’t have time to contact Luo Meng and know how he was.

When she had returned, his parents had taken Luo Meng back to his hometown to get treated.

Gu Jin wanted to visit him but he declined stating he looked ugly and didn’t want Gu Jin to look at him when he looked ugly.

Gu Jin was amused by his words, however, she still respected his words.

Honestly, she was touched by his sincerity. Before she always thought that Luo Meng was like others who admired her but now, Gu Jin started to perceive him differently.

"Master, do you believe that I truly love you?" Luo Meng’s low and deep voice came from the phone’s speaker.

Gu Jin felt a bit speechless before saying,

"Yes."

"So master can you give me one chance now?" Luo Meng asked, his voice was filled with hope and caution.

Gu Jin couldn’t bring herself to refuse him.

He loved her, protected her, and was there for her when she needed him. How could she not be touched?

But yet she couldn’t reciprocate his feelings.

"I don’t love you. I might never love you. I don’t want you to wrong you so...the answer is no." Gu Jin said softly.

"But you are wronging me now master! You are wronging me by not giving me a chance! Or is it that you still haven’t moved on from your first love?" Luo Meng asked the last sentence with a harshness in his voice.

Gu Jin’s heart jolted.

Did she?

Maybe.

Though she had forced herself to not look at him, it was indeed very difficult to forget him.

However...if she continued to hold on...it would only hurt her more, right?

After taking a deep breath, she suddenly said,

"Alright. I can’t love you now, but I will try. Just give me some time."

"Really? I will wait for you then!" Luo Meng was excited but suddenly he said,

"One more thing, master. If you can’t ever bring yourself to love me...then please don’t give anyone else a chance for the next 2 years.

I..I will need time and your support to move on. I hope you can entertain this selfish request of mine."

Gu Jin was taken aback by Luo Meng’s strange request. However, she had already come up with an answer in her mind.

Luo Meng was her savior, it was her duty to do that much for him, right?

Taking a deep breath Gu Jin agreed,

"Okay. Then if I can’t be with you I will help you to move on."

"One more condition." Luo Meng suddenly said making Gu Jin raise an eyebrow. But she didn’t interrupt Luo Meng.

"You can’t tell anyone about this...I will be embarrassed." Luo Meng said with a soft sigh.

Gu Jin thought for a while and felt that Luo Meng’s words made sense.

She agreed again. After chatting for a while, she hung up.

Looking at her schedule, Gu Jin realized that the induction ceremony would be held tomorrow, while 1 week later the military training would start.

Gu Jin lay on her bed as she thought of the upcoming hectic life.

In the past three years, she thought of many ways to leave the world, maybe by dying or maybe by finding a passage.

But her intuition told her otherwise.

Even after browsing through many news and buying many hidden pieces of news, Gu Jin didn’t come across any place that could possibly be the door to her world.

Neither did dying could guarantee that she would return to her world.

So she strived to become powerful instead. One who could never be bullied by anyone. One who wouldn’t need to stay at someone’s mercy and one who might after reaching the pinnacle return to her world.

In any case, she had already made a will and wasn’t worried that she might return to her world.

Gu Jin’s thoughts wandered a bit to Long Yifan before she shook her head.

Now that she was in the capital it was inevitable that she would meet him.

No! She has already thought of treating Luo Meng sincerely! She can’t think about him.

Gu Aihan was cultivating in her room when suddenly someone knocked on her door.

"Enter."

A woman dressed in a maid’s outfit entered the room bowed and said,

"Yes." The maid nodded, "It is in the editing phase."

Suddenly an idea appeared in her mind and she paced to her bed. Without hesitation, she called Long Yifan who picked it up with impatience.

"What do you want now?"

"Hey, calm down. I just wanted to ask whether you can accompany me to university. I heard someone named Gu Jin beat up my two friends."

There was a silence on the other side for a long while before she heard Long Yifan say,

"You go, I don’t want to go."

Loser. Gu Aihan muttered. She understood that Long Yifan might not want to be seen with her and didn’t want to hurt Gu Jin.

However, Gu Aihan thought of the wrong thing.

Long Yifan just didn’t want to be tangled with Gu Jin.

He was conflicted. He couldn’t keep thinking of Gu Jin if he was going to marry Gu Aihan. That would be an insult to both women.
