The Mighty Mage
Chapter 301: Idiot

Chapter 301: Chapter 301: Idiot

Gu Aihan chuckled condescendingly,

"Hey, don’t say you didn’t get into the Beijing University."

"I have." Long Yifan said with a calm expression, "But that is not the problem...Gu Aihan can we break off our engagement?"

Gu Aihan’s grip on the phone tightened, and her heart skipped a beat. Though she didn’t have much respect for Long Yifan, it would have been a different thing if Gu Jin could have him.

She will never hand over to Gu Jin, something she has under her own control, however, Long Yifan’s next words tempted her,

"I can fulfill any of your requests. Money, resources, and connections. Name anything and I will give it to you."

"Anything?" Gu Aihan asked, her voice was carefully neutral, though a hint of greed sparkled in her eyes.

"Anything," Long Yifan confirmed, his voice steady but weary.

He was prepared to pay any price to free himself from the impending chain of their engagement.

Gu Aihan leaned back on her bed, weighing her options.

If she agreed, she could amass enough resources to bolster her standing within the Gu family, securing her position even if her secrets came to light.

But if she declined, she would continue with her plan of marrying into the Long family, tightening her hold on the Long fortune and making Gu Jin’s life more miserable.

After a moment of silence, she spoke.

"I’ll think about it, Yifan. But don’t hold your breath. You know how important this engagement is for our families."

Long Yifan clenched his jaw on the other end of the line, frustration bubbling inside him.

"Just think about it," he said before ending the call abruptly.

Gu Aihan smirked as she placed her phone down. She wasn’t done playing her game yet.

And if she could manipulate both Long Yifan and Gu Jin into positions of weakness, all the better.

Jasmine who had just entered the room heard her brother’s room and was instantly happy.

"Yifan you have finally thought it through? Are you truly going to break off the engagement? I am so happy for you..."

Long Yifan raised his hand and shook his head,

"I am not. If she asks for anything I will just fulfil her request as compensation that I could never love her."

"Yifan! You f*cking idiot! Why are you even compensating her in the first place? She has cheated on you multiple times already!" Jasmine said angrily.

"I know." Long Yifan said with an unnerving calm expression. It was as if the person whose life was going to be destroyed wasn’t his.

"But sister, my mother always taught me to be fair. I don’t love Gu Aihan, if possible I wouldn’t marry her, but I respect my mother, so I will fulfill her last wish.

Since Gu Aihan couldn’t get my love it would be better to compensate her. Otherwise, what will be the difference between me and the scumbag who marries one and love someone else?"

Jasmine’s eyes blazed with anger, her voice shaking as she said,

"So you’re just going to keep letting her walk all over you? Letting her play her games while you suffer in silence?"

Long Yifan glanced at his sister, eyes hollow but determined.

"I just want to fulfill my mother’s last wish."

Jasmine lost her temper,

"You deserve to be alone! I just came here to tell you that Gu Jin was in the same university as you and you should make some move but...seeing how dumb you are, I think it would be better if you stay single."

......

At university.

Gu Jin was thinking about the elements she should awaken.

According to space, she could awaken 2 more elements.

Since she had free time, Gu Jin looked through many things and realized the criteria for awakening a new element.

The first element that she awakened was the Mutated Plant after which she used the awakening stone and awakened the Dark Fire element.

So instead of one primary element, she had two primary elements. Mutated Plant and Dark Fire.

When she reached the intermediate rank of the Mutated Plant, she awakened the Fire element.

While her thunder element was a result of reaching the advanced rank of Mutated Plant.

As for necromancy, it was awakened because she had reached the intermediate rank of Dark Fire element.

Now she was left with one more element to awaken because she had reached the advanced rank of Dark Fire element.

However, according to the space, one more element could be awakened since she reached the intermediate rank of Necromancy element.

This led her to the conclusion that as long as her elements were ancient, or mutated, she could awaken each element at its each rank.

As for other basic elements like fire and thunder, she won’t be able to awaken any element at their any rank.

Normally the mage of the magic world could awaken an element at every alternate level. That is advanced and emperor rank.

The rich kids at the capital on the other hand had some pill, that helped them to awaken an element at every rank they crossed of their primary element.

So in a way, she was lucky to have a body that helped her awaken more elements. However, the cost to raise all of these elements was too much for her.

If only she was some rich heiress...then she would definitely be thrilled. But without money...even this advantage seemed as a disadvantage!

Gu Jin sighed.

After thinking for a while she had already decided on the first element that she would awaken. Space.

(Author: I am not biased toward any reader.) ( >_<)

Even though she had a space of her own, it had a major disadvantage. If a person had a powerful space artifact they could easily cut off the link between her and the space.

It was the same for any ordinary space artifact too!

Ah.

For the second element, Gu Jin was a bit unsure. She wanted to awaken some holy element. It would help her to balance her elements.

The majority of her elements, after all, had dark attributes.

Whether it was necromancy, dark fire, or mutated plant element.

(Note: The poison attributes of mutated plant elements come under the dark attribute)

However, at the same time, she needed a cover for her necromancy element and was thinking of awakening an undead element. In that way, no one will ever know about the existence of her necromancy element.

There was also a summoning element.

Gu Jin had many beautiful thoughts but her bank balance was protesting against those thoughts. Space element was too expensive to raise.

The undead element was even more expensive, as for summoners...only wealthy families could afford to raise one.

At times like this Gu Jin missed her previous life.

Taking a deep breath Gu Jin closed her eyes and started to cultivate.

.......

The next day.

Gu Jin woke up and lazed around in bed.

She wanted to have a day off. After all, many things had happened in the past 1 month.

From the cultivation’s point of view, she did lack a bit, but Gu Jin was sure that she would eventually cover the distance.

(The capital’s rich kids have all reached super rank already.)

After washing up and wore a beautiful red dress that reached to her knees and wore a denim jacket. She had styled her hair a bit and put on some light makeup.

Looking at the beautiful woman in the mirror, Gu Jin smiled and walked out.

Compared to the other universities where the dorm rooms are shared Beijing University had handed out all student their own room.

The primary reason was how huge the university was and the secondary reason was how fewer people were admitted(at least compared to other universities.)

As soon as Gu Jin reached the gate of the dorm, many eyes were set on her.

Gu Jin’s beauty was unique. Red eyes and black hair could make anyone look like a witch but for Gu Jin they made her stand out in the crowd.

Since she hadn’t explored the university previously, Gu Jin decided to look for the map as she didn’t know where the auditorium was.

But before Gu Jin could walk to the alter on which the map was placed, one of the seniors who were stationed to help the newbies walked up to Gu Jin.

The senior smiled warmly, his eyes sparking with charm as he spoke.

"Hello, Junior. I’m Cu Han, a third-year in the Plant and Ice Department. If you need any help navigating this maze of a university, I’m your guy."

Gu Jin met his gaze with an expression of calm neutrality, her red eyes unwavering.

"Thank you, Senior Cu, but could you just tell me the directions to the auditorium?"

Cu Han’s smile faltered for only a second before it returned, a little less confident but still friendly.

"Of course, but if you’d like, I can take you there myself."

His eyes were flashing with expectation.
