The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 273: Peace-2
Chapter 273: Chapter 273: Peace-2
"Sister, too much luck is required in this method and I highly suspect that your luck will work this time." Si Kai mercilessly told the truth.
He was truly desperate and worried.
Gu Jin sighed,
"Just trust me, alright? If anything worse happens, I will hide in the space."
Even after hearing her plan, Si Kai didn’t budge.
Gu Jin let out a frustrated sigh,
"If you don’t listen, then I will use some other risky plan. I will give you three seconds. 3...2..."
"You! Fine!" Si Kai agreed. He was truly worried that Gu JIn would use some other harmful method.
A smile emerged on Gu Jin’s face and she hugged Si Kai,
"Thank you so much. You are the best little brother."
Once she finished her words, she pulled away and started to run away.
Si Kai sighed and shouted,
"And you are the worst big sister ever."
Gu Jin soon reached the location where Lamashtu was and slowly wrapped her plant vines around Lamashtu’s legs.
Lamashtu was immersed in the despair of Ren Fulin and didn’t notice the vine until a small amount of life force was sucked out of his body which forced him to drop Ren Fulin.
He cast an irritated look at the vines and tried to find the cheap human who dared to use a sneaky trick against him.
Looking at the young girl with black hair and red eyes, Lamashtu’s expression changed and he gritted his teeth,
"You b*tch! It’s all because of you! It’s all because of you!"
Saying so he started to walk in Gu Jin’s direction.
"Keep him distracted and I will be able to take him down."
Gu Jin’s words made everyone confused. However, Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu were staring at Gu Jin as if she were some ghost.
How to say...
Even though Gu Jin had the same features as their general, she looked very different.
However, her red eyes and black hair look very same as their General.
A terrifying thought appeared in their mind and both Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu exchanged glances.
Some of the soldiers who had the luck to meet their General have the same thought as Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu.
However, they could only suppress their curiosity for the time being and follow Gu Jin’s order.
The battlefield was thick with tension as the soldiers, battered and weary, stood their ground against Lamashtu.
Every blow from the parasite felt like an earthquake, and yet, they fought on, determined to protect Gu Jin as she continued to siphon his life force with her plant vines.
Gu Jin tightened her focus, feeling the flow of energy being pulled from Lamashtu and into her vines.
The soldiers were giving it their all, though many of them were on the verge of collapse.
Ren Fulin, his body covered in bruises and cuts, clashed with Lamashtu, using his sword to deflect the creature’s wild strikes.
Beside him, the others fought with whatever strength they had left, launching a coordinated attack to keep Lamashtu from moving too far.
But Lamashtu was growing impatient.
"You insignificant worms!" Lamashtu roared, his massive form surging with dark energy as he swung his clawed hand in a wide arc, knocking several soldiers off their feet.
His eyes burned with fury, and his voice dripped with venom.
"Do you really think you can hold me off forever?"
Despite his rage, the soldiers managed to hold him at bay.
Every time he tried to get close to Gu Jin, another wave of soldiers would rush in, throwing themselves at him with reckless abandon.
They knew they couldn’t defeat him on their own, but they could buy time. And that was all Gu Jin needed.
Minutes passed, each one feeling like an eternity.
The soldiers were exhausted, their movements growing slower, their strikes less coordinated.
Sweat dripped from their faces, and their muscles screamed in agony, but still, they didn’t give up.
"How much longer... can we keep this up?" One of the soldiers complained.
Ren Fulin, panting heavily, spared a glance toward Gu Jin.
"We don’t have a choice. We have to trust her."
Meanwhile, Lamashtu’s frustration grew with each passing second.
His attempts to sever the vines wrapped around his legs had failed time and time again.
Every time he tried to rip them off, the vines would regenerate, tightening their grip and draining more of his energy.
His once-mighty form began to waver.
His movements became sluggish, and his breath grew ragged. Lamashtu, for the first time, felt the icy grip of fear.
This girl—this insignificant human—was draining his very life force. And worse, he couldn’t stop her.
How?
How could a woman at an advanced rank could make him feel so...weak? He was at Heaven Rank!
So how?
Fifteen minutes had passed, and Lamashtu finally realized the full extent of what was happening.
Half of his life force had been sucked away by Gu Jin’s relentless attack.
His body, once towering and imposing, now looked diminished. His power, his very essence, was slipping away.
Lamashtu’s red eyes flared with desperation.
He knew he couldn’t afford to let this continue. If he did, he would be completely drained and left powerless.
He had to escape.
But not before making sure that Gu Jin would pay for what she had done.
With a snarl, Lamashtu reached into the folds of his tattered armor and pulled out a small, yellowed piece of parchment.
The air around him crackled with dark magic as he held it up for all to see.
"Do you think this is the end?" Lamashtu’s voice was low, a dangerous edge in his tone.
"You’ve made a grave mistake, girl. I will not forget this."
Without another word, he tore the parchment in half. Instantly, the air around him began to warp and distort.
Dark tendrils of energy wrapped around Lamashtu’s body, pulling him into a swirling vortex of shadow.
"Mark my words, Gu Jin," Lamashtu spat, his voice echoing ominously through the battlefield.
"I will have my revenge. You may have won today, but you will regret crossing me. I swear it!"
As his words faded into the air, Lamashtu’s massive form began to vanish.
In the blink of an eye, he was gone, leaving nothing but a faint ripple of dark energy behind.
The soldiers stood frozen in place, their weapons still raised, their minds struggling to comprehend what had just happened.
The monster that had wreaked so much havoc, the creature that had devoured their comrades, was gone.
Just when they thought they couldn’t hold on anymore...the monster finally retreated!
Gu Jin collapsed to the ground, her body trembling from the immense effort she had exerted.
Si Kai was at her side in an instant, kneeling down to support her.
"Sister!" Si Kai’s voice was filled with both relief and concern as he helped Gu Jin to sit up. "Are you okay?"
Gu Jin, her face pale and covered in sweat, gave a weak smile.
"I’m... fine," she panted, her voice hoarse. "It worked... He’s gone... for now."
Ren Fulin and Feng Boyu approached, their faces showing a mixture of exhaustion and disbelief. Ren Fulin was the first to speak, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You... you actually did it."
Feng Boyu, his eyes wide, looked at Gu Jin as if seeing her for the first time.
"Who... who are you really?"
He expected Gu Jin’s answer to be ’I am related to the Gu Family and I am the daughter of the Gu Family.’
Gu Jin met their gazes, her red eyes glowing faintly in the fading light.
She could see the unspoken questions in their eyes, the uncertainty, the suspicion.
"We’ll talk later," she said softly.
Once she finished speaking, she fainted again.
Feng Boyu: "..."
Ren Fulin: "..."
Si Kai: "..."
Without a word, Si Kai motioned the skelly to pour dark energy into Gu Jin and asked three light mages to pour light, whom he had found somehow in the past 15 minutes.
"What are you doing?" Ren Fulin asked in confusion.
"Nothing," Si Kai shook his head and said, "Thank you for your support till now. Oh right, my sister asked me to give you this."
Saying so Si Kai took out a box from his storage ring and passed it to Ren Fulin.
When Ren Fulin saw the content, he was surprised, moved, and thrilled at the same time.
"Thank you." Si Kai said again.
"No! No! We only reciprocate Miss Gu’s kindness. I will definitely tell the general about Miss Gu’s credit, once all the parasites have been dealt with!" Ren Fulin said with enthusiasm.
However remembering the roar of the parasites at the arrival of the parasite lord, ren Fulin was worried as to how long will it take to deal with all the parasites.
Ren Fulin sighed, bowed to Si Kai, and started to distribute the healing pills and mana-recovering pills in the box to all the soldiers one by one.
Feng Boyu after eating the mana-recovering pill and healing pill, felt better.
