The Mighty Mage
Chapter 251: Repairing

Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Repairing

But she didn’t have the time to delve into the matter, hence she ignored it.

After wearing the gloves Gu Jin placed her hand on the ground and asked,

"Now what?"

"Master place it on the teleportation array and activate it by channeling your energy in the gloves. Any elemental energy would work." The space explained

Gu Jin hesitated for a moment but decided to follow the space’s instructions.

She carefully placed her gloved hand on the teleportation array and began to channel her necromantic energy into the gloves.

As the energy flowed through her, she felt a strange resonance between the gloves and the array beneath her.

The teleportation circle, once faint and broken, started to glow softly at first, then brighter and brighter.

The cracks in the array began to mend themselves as if the energy from the gloves was not just repairing the physical structure but also restoring the ancient magic embedded in it.

"That’s incredible," Gu Jin muttered, feeling the surge of power ripple through the gloves.

The array continued to absorb her energy, the patterns on the ground growing more intricate as the repairs were completed.

Finally, the entire circle lit up in a vibrant glow, pulsating with life.

"It’s working!" Gu Jin exclaimed, excitement rising in her chest. "This glove is very good. Can I use it to repair all the teleportation in this world?"

If the answer was yes then...she would become a billionaire! Her debts would be paid off and she could retire early...Uh! What was she thinking?

Gu Jin scolded herself internally.

"No master this glove could only repair a few teleportation arrays." The space mercilessly broke Gu Jin’s fantasy.

Gu Jin was disappointed but she knew, that every artifact has its flaws.

As the teleportation array stabilized, a portal formed in the center.

Gu Jin took a deep breath. This was her only chance to reach Fujio City in time, but there was no telling what awaited her on the other side.

"Master, the portal will hold for a while, but you should hurry," the space reminded her.

Without hesitation, Gu Jin stepped into the portal, feeling the familiar pull of teleportation magic.

In the blink of an eye, Gu Jin found herself standing on the outskirts of Fujio City.

The sight that greeted her was far worse than she had anticipated.

The city was in ruins. Buildings lay crumbled, streets were deserted, and a thick, ominous mist hung over everything.

The once bustling and lively Fujio City was now a ghost town, eerily quiet except for the occasional sound of distant movement—likely parasites or worse.

Light drizzle was giving the city an eerie vibe.

Gu Jin first charged her magic boots and recovered some of her energy. If she wanted to save her loved ones she had to ensure that she was in her best condition.

She wasn’t a fool who would directly charge without thinking about the consequences.

Weren’t there powerful experts in Fujio City? So why was the city overtaken by parasites?

This could only be two things.

First, the powerful experts in the city were involved in this matter and second those parasites were much more powerful than those experts.

In either condition, Gu Jin had to ensure that she was in the best condition.

.......

The previous day.

Song Hancheng looked at his phone with despair in his eyes.

He had been trying to contact his boss for the past one week but he didn’t get any response.

Looking at the injured Su Qing on his lap, Song Hancheng was filled with sadness,

"Qing’er please hold on! Don’t sleep okay? We will get out of here! Safely!"

Su Qing’s breaths were shallow, her face pale from the injuries she had sustained. Despite her pain, she managed to give Song Hancheng a weak smile.

"You should leave," Su Qing whispered, her voice barely audible. "I will only drag you down...please if you leave now, at least one of us will live."

Song Hancheng clenched his fists, feeling helpless. He shook his head firmly.

"No! How can I leave you? You and the baby in your stomach are my only family left! How can I leave you?"

"If you don’t leave me...the parasites will find you." Su Qing said in a weak voice.

Song Hancheng gritted his teeth,

"No! They will not find us. Qing’er please think positively. We will survive this calamity like we did before. Don’t worry, Boss Su will help us as long as we wait for him."

Su Qing shook her head,

"What if...what if something had happened to Boss Su too? Cheng’er don’t be fool! Please. I don’t want you to die because of me."

"No! Nothing could happen to Boss Su. Qing’er, please! Please don’t give up! For the sake of our baby! Please!" Song Hancheng begged with red eyes.

Su Qing’s heart ached and she decided to stay quiet since she couldn’t help him.

Song Hancheng leaned out of the abandoned building to check whether any parasites were around.

Once he confirmed that there were no parasites around, he stood up to leave.

They had long ago run out of food.

Song Hancheng was planning to look for food and Su Qing opposed.

The truth was only Su Qing was hungry and hence requested Song Hancheng to leave her behind.

Due to some reason since her pregnancy, Su Qing always felt hungry and couldn’t control her hunger.

On the first day she tried to endure the hunger but just after 5 hours she started to vomit blood. It was then Su Qing realized how dangerous staying hungry could be.

Worried about her baby’s health, Su Qing ensured to eat food on time.

But now...that they had run out of food, Song Hancheng was worried and insisted on finding food for her.

They were also planning to run away from the city.

Luckily for them, Song Hancheng found some food and passed it to Su Qing, who gobbled it down.

As soon as Su Qing saw the food, she forgot about everything and started to eat it.

When it was night Song Hancheng hugged Su Qing and slept.

The next day as usual Song Hancheng called Gu Jin in the hopes that she would pick up his call, but just like every other day...she didn’t reply.

Their current location was Gu Jin’s villa which had a secret basement.

Boss Su had told them that if they ever felt as if they were in danger they could visit her cousin’s villa(which in reality belonged to her).

Thinking about Su Qing’s words earlier, Song Hancheng was worried.

Just like yesterday Song Hancheng set off to find food for Su Qing. Like the last time, he found some snacks and returned.

Once he passed the snacks to Su Qing, he suddenly heard a laughing voice,

Su Qing and Song Hancheng both of them turned toward the door of the basement which was locked and heard a woman’s dark voice,

"I knew it... rats were lurking around. Thank god I had thought of following you!"

Song Hancheng hugged Su Qing tightly and asked in a murderous tone,

"Who are you?"

Even though he asked the question, Song Hancheng already had an answer in his heart.

Parasites.

Only those creatures now have intelligence equivalent to humans...

"Your...death!" The woman whispered a creepy smile appeared on her face which due to the door of the basement couldn’t be seen by Song Hancheng and Su Qing but they were worried.

The next second a ’Clang’ voice sounded, followed by a guttural growl.

"F*ck! Just what metal is used to make this door? It almost tore my precious tongue." The woman complained.

Song Hancheng heaved a sigh of relief.

"Anyways if I can’t break the door then I will burn it."

The moment the woman finished her words, smoke started to enter the room.

Song Hancheng used an artifact to create a protective barrier between himself and Su Qing.

They both knew that it was a temporary solution. In a few hours, their artifact would lose power, and they would be exposed to the flames.

Song Hancheng bit his lips and said,

"How about this... let’s fight head-on. After all...from the woman’s words and monologue, it is clear that she is the only person present over here.

If there is only a single parasite I can deal with it easily."

"Alright, let’s fight," Su Qing agreed.

Song Hancheng nodded, steeling himself. He reached for the door handle and, with one swift motion, flung it open.

But as soon as the door swung wide, his eyes widened in horror.

There weren’t just one or two parasites waiting for them.

More than twenty parasites, all humanoid in appearance, stood there grinning with sickening expressions on their faces.

Their eyes gleamed with malice, and their grotesque smiles stretched unnaturally wide, showing sharp, discolored teeth.

The woman who had been speaking earlier stood at the front, her twisted smile the widest of them all.

"Surprise!" she hissed, her voice dripping with mockery.
