The Mighty Mage
Chapter 252: Help Us

Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Help Us

Panic surged through Song Hancheng as he quickly attempted to slam the door shut, but before he could, one of the parasites moved with unnatural speed, kicking the door with tremendous force.

The impact hit Song Hancheng like a sledgehammer, sending him flying backward into the basement.

He crashed into the wall with a loud thud, blood spurting from his mouth as he gasped for air.

"Cheng’er!" Su Qing screamed, scrambling toward him.

The parasites poured into the room, their eerie laughter echoing in the confined space.

The woman leading them stepped forward, her eyes fixed on Su Qing.

"You really thought you could hide from us?" she sneered. "How foolish."

Su Qing stood in front of Song Hancheng, her body trembling.

The woman parasite grinned wider, stepping closer.

Song Hancheng, struggling to stand, coughed up blood but refused to give up.

"Qing’er... run," he gasped, reaching out weakly toward her.

But Su Qing shook her head. "No... I won’t leave you."

The woman parasite’s laughter filled the room, chilling them to the core.

"Touching. But futile."

Saying so the woman motioned and one of the parasites opened his mouth to eat Su Qing.

"No! Please! No! Just put us in the prison! Please." Song Hancheng begged.

The woman amused by the words of Song Hancheng motioned for the parasite to stop and said,

"Of course, that was the case and we will do that with you. But as for this woman...She has to be eaten. After all, she is carrying a life with herself.

If any one of us eats her, her strength will be doubled. So don’t worry we will only eat her."

Song Hancheng, despite the intense pain wracking his body, forced himself to his feet.

His vision blurred, and blood trickled down his face, but he couldn’t let Su Qing die—not her, not their child.

Desperation fueled his movements as he lunged forward, throwing himself between Su Qing and the approaching parasites.

"Stay away from her!" he roared, his voice ragged and strained.

The woman parasite merely chuckled, her eyes gleaming with malice.

"How brave, but how foolish."

Before Song Hancheng could react, one of the parasites struck him with a powerful blow to the chest, sending him crashing to the ground once again.

His ribs felt like they had shattered on impact, and he struggled to breathe, but still, he tried to rise.

"I... won’t... let you... hurt her..." he gasped, attempting to gather what little strength he had left.

He raised his hand to cast a protective spell, channeling the last vestiges of his energy, but every time he muttered the incantation, one of the parasites was faster.

A swift kick to his side disrupted his concentration, the spell fizzling out before it could take form.

"Not so fast," the woman parasite sneered. "You really thought we’d let you cast your pathetic magic?"

Another parasite grabbed him by the neck, lifting him off the ground effortlessly and slamming him into the wall.

The force knocked the breath from his lungs, and the world around him began to spin. His limbs felt heavy, and darkness crept at the edges of his vision.

Su Qing, watching in horror, screamed,

"No! Stop it! Please!" But her cries fell on deaf ears.

Song Hancheng, barely conscious, could only watch as the parasites advanced toward Su Qing.

His heart shattered as he saw one of the parasites open its mouth, ready to devour her and their unborn child.

He tried to move, but his body wouldn’t respond, too broken and battered to fight any longer.

Tears blurred his vision as he silently prayed,

Please... someone... anyone... help us...

Just as the parasite’s gaping mouth inched closer to Su Qing, a vine suddenly appeared out of nowhere and held the tongue.

Before the parasite could react his tongue was torn away by the plant vine.

"Ahhhhh!"

The parasite let out a bloodcurdling scream as its tongue was ripped clean from its mouth, thick, dark blood splattering across the room.

The woman parasite’s face twisted into a snarl.

"Who dares to interfere?!" she hissed, eyes darting around the room.

Song Hancheng, barely holding onto consciousness, blinked through his haze of pain.

The sight of the parasite’s tongue being torn away was almost surreal, but the momentary hope that flickered in his chest was enough to keep him aware.

Su Qing gasped, her terrified eyes locked on the strange vine that had appeared out of nowhere.

But slowly she relaxed and her body suddenly collapsed. Before her body could hit the ground, a green vine again appeared and wrapped around her, preventing her from falling down.

"Be careful." Gu Jin’s voice sounded.

"Master! Master that child inside this woman’s womb! Save it! Save it at any cost!" The space suddenly shouted.

Gu Jin was a bit stunned by the space’s sudden enthusiasm. But what surprised her even more was space’s words.

Pregnant?

Su Qing was pregnant?

The mere thought made Gu Jin surprised and happy at the same time.

At the same time the anger she felt earlier increased by tenfold.

She used her plant vines to create walls around Su Qing and Song Hancheng.

Once she was sure that none of them were in danger, Gu Jin started to attack the parasites.

One by one she wrapped her vines around each parasite. Some of the smarter ones leaped in the air and attacked Gu Jin before the vines could come near them.

Gu Jin was already prepared for these attacks. She had worn the armor and asked the space to create a barrier around her.

Hence the parasites fell one by one once they reached within the 50-meter range of Gu Jin.

Few of the observant ones immediately stopped when they saw those failing parasites.

They instead opened their mouth and decided to use their tongue to attack. As for the invisible barrier around Gu Jin...they decided to use their tongue to break open the barrier.

In their entire body, their tongue was the toughest and strongest body part.

With their collective attack, the space soon started to feel as if the barrier would break,

"Master the barrier is about to break! Be careful!"

Gu Jin wasn’t surprised.

As compared to the mages, the parasites were far stronger.

"No problem I am almost done with the other parasites."

Saying so Gu Jin withdrew her vines.

The woman who was watching everything from the sidelines, was stunned. A hint of uneasiness appeared in her eyes.

She could feel that Gu Jin had a dangerous aura...

An aura...which made her body turn cold.

She had a feeling that if she let Gu Jin continue whatever she was doing, Gu Jin would soon kill them all.

What was even more surprising to her was...how one by one her subordinates fell down. Their body turned into ashes once Gu Jin withdrew her vines...it was too bizarre scene.

How could parasites who were even more powerful than a mage, be turned into ashes...

No! She has to do something!

Thinking about Gu Jin’s weakness, the woman turned and ran toward the plant wall around Su Qing.

She waved her hand and tried to use her bare hand to open up the plant vines.

She hoped that the vines would torn apart since after the transformation of her body, she could feel her strength increasing fivefold.

However, even after trying for a long time, the woman was only able to a part of the plant vines walls.

"Master that leader has successfully made a gap in the plant reinforced around that Su woman." The space warned.

Gu Jin instantly created another wall of plant vines around Su Qing.

"If it again, tell me."

"Sure." The space agreed.

After a few seconds, Gu Jin realized that the speed with which she was able to suck out the life force had decreased significantly.

Gu Jin frowned and asked the space,

"Why am I having so much difficulty in sucking out the life force now?"

"Master, the issue is that too much life force has already been absorbed," the space responded, its voice tense with urgency.

"You’ve reached your limit. Any more, and it could become dangerous for you."

Gu Jin’s frown deepened as she felt the strain within her body. The energy was too intense, too chaotic.

"Then I’ll have to finish this quickly," Gu Jin muttered, glancing toward the parasite leader who was still desperately clawing at the new plant wall around Su Qing.

The woman parasite’s eyes glinted with wild desperation as she turned back to face Gu Jin. "You think you can protect them forever?" she spat, her voice dripping with venom.

"You may have power, but I will break through—"

Before she could finish, Gu Jin moved with a sudden burst of speed.

She raised her hand, and the vines surged forward like a tidal wave, wrapping tightly around the woman’s body.
