"We both will go inside." Liang Bao said. Then she turned towards Jin Mu and bowed, "I know I may sound selfish, but could you please help us to open the portal."

Pei Ke was stunned and subconsciously hugged Jin Mu tightly.

Liang Bao continued,

"I know that you might be one of the descendants of Ancient Mage Blood. Otherwise, the portal wouldn’t have..."

Jin Mu interrupted her,

"I am not. Though I am related to a family who are the descendants of Ancient Mage Blood. I am not one of them. The reason why I was dragged into it was because, of some manipulation of the portal’s energy."

Liang Bao clenched her fist.

"Hey, don’t you think both the friends are overdoing it?"

"Yeah. I would have given up long ago. It’s not like that girl named Gu Jin was inlaid with diamond."

Lu Siyao and Liang Bao gritted their teeth.

Her eyes turned red.

They couldn’t lose Gu Jin. They don’t want to lose their best friend who is so pure! She wasn’t just a best friend! She was a sister to them!

Even if they have to beg Gu Aihan they would do it.

A portal opened and two figures were thrown out.

If Lu Siyao and Liang Bao were present here they would have recognized the figure.

Gu Jin was held in the arms of a young man with deep blue eyes. The young man’s face and body were completely hidden due to the black clothes he was wearing.

His arms were tightly wrapped around Gu Jin to ensure she wouldn’t get injured from the fall.

The blue eyes of the young man were filled with concern and he touched Gu Jins’ forehead and muttered,

"Why can’t you take care of yourself?"

His scolding fell on deaf ears.

The atmosphere was an eerie calm in the deep forest. Suddenly the young man with blue eyes placed Gu Jin gently on the ground, he took out a golden pill and spoon, and at the same time, he filled the spoon with water.

His hands moved quickly, crushing the golden pill into fine powder before mixing it into the water on the spoon.

As the mixture dissolved, he gently lifted Gu Jin’s head, tilting it just enough to allow the liquid to trickle into her mouth.

"Come on, Jin," he whispered softly, his voice laced with concern. "You have to drink this. It will help."

Gu Jin’s body was limp, her face pale and devoid of color. The wounds on her arms and body were deep, and her breathing was shallow.

The young man’s expression hardened as he watched her struggle to swallow the potion.

He held her head steady, ensuring that every drop went down.

Once the golden liquid was completely administered, the young man placed Gu Jin back on the ground, arranging her in a more comfortable position.

The young man with familiarity took out a tent and started to build one.

Once the tent was made, he placed Gu Jin inside. With closed eyes, he bandaged her wounds and changed her clothes.

"Why can’t you stop getting in trouble? Truly...someday, I would have to become your bodyguard..." The young man stopped in the middle of his words.

Looking at Gu Jin’s beautiful face the young man couldn’t control himself from caressing her face.

"Why am I..so obsessed with you..."

Gu Jin suddenly moves a little and mutters,

"Cold...cold..."

The young man chuckled, took out a jacket from his storage ring, and wrapped it around Gu Jin.

Slowly the sun set and the moon became visible.

The young man lay beside Gu Jin and muttered,

"Do you know, where I was? Japan. I learned a very good quote from there, anyways do you think the moon is beautiful today?"

He held his breath in anticipation as if he was expecting a response from Gu Jin, but suddenly he laughed.

He laughed at his foolishness.

"How wish the time could stop and I could continue to stare at you...I have so many things to talk about, but I couldn’t...

Ah...I know I may sound strange but...Gu Jin can there ever be a day when I can be with you?

The young man turned towards Gu Jin, stretched his hand, and held her pinky finger.

"I thought being your shadow and looking at you from a distance could satisfy me...I was wrong.

I thought protecting you from the shadows and never letting you know about my sacrifice was enough...I was wrong.
