The Mighty Mage
Chapter 225: Obsession

Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Obsession

"We both will go inside." Liang Bao said. Then she turned towards Jin Mu and bowed, "I know I may sound selfish, but could you please help us to open the portal."

Pei Ke was stunned and subconsciously hugged Jin Mu tightly.

Liang Bao continued,

"I know that you might be one of the descendants of Ancient Mage Blood. Otherwise, the portal wouldn’t have..."

Jin Mu interrupted her,

"I am not. Though I am related to a family who are the descendants of Ancient Mage Blood. I am not one of them. The reason why I was dragged into it was because, of some manipulation of the portal’s energy."

Liang Bao clenched her fist.

"Hey, don’t you think both the friends are overdoing it?"

"Yeah. I would have given up long ago. It’s not like that girl named Gu Jin was inlaid with diamond."

Lu Siyao and Liang Bao gritted their teeth.

Her eyes turned red.

They couldn’t lose Gu Jin. They don’t want to lose their best friend who is so pure! She wasn’t just a best friend! She was a sister to them!

Even if they have to beg Gu Aihan they would do it.

Gu Jin looked as if she would die! How could they let her stay in that Ancient Magic World? God knows what thing she had suffered to have become so injured!

"I am going to go and find Gu Aihan!" Lu Siyao said.

"She won’t help you." Pei Ke subconsciously blurts out.

"Then so it be! I will beg her and if she wants I will give my life! But I can’t let my best friend die." Lu Siyao said.

Liang Bao silently followed behind.

Professor Jiang’s eyes flashed and he couldn’t help but feel a bit touched.

"We have a way. You don’t need to go. I have a way to get her out of there..."

However, before he could finish, both Lu Siyao and Liang Bao’s talismans started to glow and their expression changed.

"She is already here..." Both of them thought.

.....

In the deep forest of Mistwood.

A portal opened and two figures were thrown out.

If Lu Siyao and Liang Bao were present here they would have recognized the figure.

Gu Jin was held in the arms of a young man with deep blue eyes. The young man’s face and body were completely hidden due to the black clothes he was wearing.

His arms were tightly wrapped around Gu Jin to ensure she wouldn’t get injured from the fall.

The blue eyes of the young man were filled with concern and he touched Gu Jins’ forehead and muttered,

"Why can’t you take care of yourself?"

His scolding fell on deaf ears.

The atmosphere was an eerie calm in the deep forest. Suddenly the young man with blue eyes placed Gu Jin gently on the ground, he took out a golden pill and spoon, and at the same time, he filled the spoon with water.

His hands moved quickly, crushing the golden pill into fine powder before mixing it into the water on the spoon.

As the mixture dissolved, he gently lifted Gu Jin’s head, tilting it just enough to allow the liquid to trickle into her mouth.

"Come on, Jin," he whispered softly, his voice laced with concern. "You have to drink this. It will help."

Gu Jin’s body was limp, her face pale and devoid of color. The wounds on her arms and body were deep, and her breathing was shallow.

The young man’s expression hardened as he watched her struggle to swallow the potion.

He held her head steady, ensuring that every drop went down.

Once the golden liquid was completely administered, the young man placed Gu Jin back on the ground, arranging her in a more comfortable position.

The young man with familiarity took out a tent and started to build one.

Once the tent was made, he placed Gu Jin inside. With closed eyes, he bandaged her wounds and changed her clothes.

"Why can’t you stop getting in trouble? Truly...someday, I would have to become your bodyguard..." The young man stopped in the middle of his words.

Looking at Gu Jin’s beautiful face the young man couldn’t control himself from caressing her face.

"Why am I..so obsessed with you..."

Gu Jin suddenly moves a little and mutters,

"Cold...cold..."

The young man chuckled, took out a jacket from his storage ring, and wrapped it around Gu Jin.

Slowly the sun set and the moon became visible.

The young man lay beside Gu Jin and muttered,

"Do you know, where I was? Japan. I learned a very good quote from there, anyways do you think the moon is beautiful today?"

He held his breath in anticipation as if he was expecting a response from Gu Jin, but suddenly he laughed.

He laughed at his foolishness.

"How wish the time could stop and I could continue to stare at you...I have so many things to talk about, but I couldn’t...

Ah...I know I may sound strange but...Gu Jin can there ever be a day when I can be with you?

I always thought I could forget you...but I was proved wrong and wrong again. At last, I accepted the fact, that though I can never make you mine, I can’t forget you.

Your beautiful memories will haunt me, and the regret of not being able to tell you how precious you are to me...will haunt me...forever.

Maybe someday, when I will come to terms with my fate, I will cry at night thinking about my first and last but the most beautiful love...

Do you know...I tried a very foolish thing...I thought swapping out souls was possible...and selfishly wanted to swap out your soul with...forget it.

I am happy that you have stopped loving me...hahaha!"

The young man laughed, however, tears appeared in his eyes. As the tears started to slide down his cheeks, the smile on his face slowly disappeared.

Choked sobs sounded in the dead of night.

The trees and nearby plants started to sway as if it was masking the pain of a devasted soul.

After a few minutes, the sobs stopped, as if it was an illusion.

The young man turned towards Gu Jin, stretched his hand, and held her pinky finger.

"I thought being your shadow and looking at you from a distance could satisfy me...I was wrong.

I thought protecting you from the shadows and never letting you know about my sacrifice was enough...I was wrong.

Sometimes I selfishly want to tell you the truth...Sometimes I want you to know about sacrifices...so that you could love me...again...

Gu Jin...I wish I hadn’t had such a fate. Should I just kill myself? If I kill myself and get reincarnated then I would find you and make you fall in love with me..."

Toward the end, the young man’s eyes were filled with obsession.

After a few seconds passed, the young man turned his face away and chuckled,

"Just ignore me...I was out of my mind. You know I especially love to spend time with you.

Whenever you are in danger, I take you away somewhere your friend can reach only after a day or two and I could selfishly talk with you while you are unconscious.

Neither your friends nor you know about this time and it becomes my most precious memories. The memories that I only remember.

And don’t worry about your friend, my subordinates will ensure that they will reach here without getting killed.

Like a fool they are, they will think luck is on their side since they could reach here...how naive.

They aren’t as smart as you. If you ever smell my fragrance, you would guess everything...

Even though you may be suspicious as to why you have a Heaven Rank pill with you by your side whenever you wake up, your space will take the blame on my behalf and will never let you know the truth..."

The young man continued to chat. Contrary to his quiet personality...he was currently a completely different person.

Like a 16-year-old teenager who wants to stay near his love and tell her everything, the young man continued,

"Jin’er...."

"I wonder," he continued, his voice breaking slightly, "if you would still see me the same way if you knew the lengths I go to protect you. Would you hate me? Would you pity me? Or... would you love me again?"

For a long moment, he simply watched her sleep, the moonlight casting a soft glow on her face.

She looked so peaceful, so far removed from the danger and chaos that had brought her to this point.

He wished he could keep her like this forever—safe, undisturbed, unaware of the darkness he carried within him.

"I know it’s wrong, Jin," he muttered, more to himself than to her. "I know I’m selfish for wanting you back, even though I know you’ve moved on.
