Chapter 187: Inhuman

Chapter 187: Chapter 187: Inhuman

"Listen," Gu Jin said, her tone firm, "I appreciate the offer, but I don’t need anyone to buy things for me. Please leave us alone."

Gao Xiong was taken aback by her directness but decided to persist. "Miss, I don’t mean any offense. I just thought—"

"You thought wrong," Gu Jin interrupted, her eyes flashing with irritation. "I’m not interested in whatever you’re trying to do. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have shopping to do."

Gao Xiong glanced back at Fei Hanzhu, who was watching the scene with mild amusement. Feeling a bit desperate,

"See, I know the reason why you don’t want to buy the gown is because you don’t have enough money.

I will buy it for you. And all you need to do is just have a meal with me."

Lu Siyao who was standing on the side couldn’t help but laugh when she heard Gao Xiong’s words.

Gu Jin doesn’t have enough money?

Just in which fantasy world the man was living in?

Among the three the richest person present here was Gu Jin.

She can give away 200 million (To say in a cultivation tower for 3 days. You can either use money{200 million} or tokens.) as if it is nothing. How could Gu Jin be called broke?

This young man was truly so funny!

Gu Jin chuckled coldly,

"Seems like you have some misunderstanding about me. No problem I will clear it for you."

Gu Jin passed the gown to one of the sales attendants nearby and asked Lu Siyao and Liang Bao to pass on the clothes they had selected so far.

"Pack them all." Gu Jin said lightly and took out her black card.

Yup. Even though she can’t be called as filthy rich and can’t compete with people who come from old money, she still could be considered a little rich woman!

Who asked her alchemy and fighting skills to be so good?

Goa Xiong’s jaws dropped at the sight of the black card.

He stared at it, speechless, while the sales attendant quickly nodded and began packing the selected clothes.

"Are you sure, miss?" the attendant asked, glancing at the expensive gown and the pile of clothes Lu Siyao and Liang Bao had picked out.

"Absolutely," Gu Jin replied with a confident smile, handing over her black card. "Pack everything."

Gao Xiong’s face turned red with embarrassment.

The girl whom he thought lacked money, has money more than!

Gao Xiong wanted the earth to crack open and swallow him whole.

Fei Hanzhu on the other hand was stunned.

He accepted in his heart that he had misjudged the situation too much.

The girl whom he was thinking of as some white lotus was in fact a rose filled with thorns.

"So interesting!" He muttered.

For some reason, he couldn’t help but remember Long Yifan.

His aura was somewhat similar to Rose too. Except he would be a black one while Gu Jin would be a red one.

Gu Jin ignored the embarrassed Gao Xiong and said,

"Let’s leave."

Liang Bao nodded.

Lu Siyao looked at Gao Xiong with sympathy. To console him, she leaned in and said,

"I can understand you young man. Even I sometimes can’t help but want to make a move on her. Till now she has rejected all my advances."

Gao Xiong looked at Lu Siyao with a stunned expression,

"Are you a lesbian?"

"No. Just... who could control themself in front of such a beauty?" Lu Siyao sighed as she looked at Gu Jin.

Gao Xiong couldn’t help but nod.

"Hey, let’s go." Liang Bao said when she saw Lu Siyao was chatting with Gao Xiong.

"Okay~" Lu Siyao said.

She turned towards Gao Xiong only to find him pinching his nose.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Nothing." Gao Xiong shook his head.

"Okay, then I will take my leave. And don’t be disheartened, there are still girls in this world that have at least 1/100th of my Jin’er beauty, you will eventually find someone who is at least 2/100th of my Jin’er’s beauty!"

Saying so she left.

Gao Xiong couldn’t help but blush.

Gu Jin was truly too beautiful.

But that girl, who was just now talking to him...she was not bad too. Her cheerful personality was truly attractive.

.........

"I want to use the washroom. I will come back in a minute." Lu Siyao whispered to Liang Bao.

"It is just around the corner." Liang Bao pointed out.

Gu Jin saw Lu Siyao leaving and asked,

"Where are you going."

"Nothing I just want to use the washroom." Lu Siyao said.

"I will go with you." Gu Jin said.

"No! I will go with you." Liang Bao said.

Lu Siyao turned to look at her two overprotective friends and said,

"It doesn’t matter who comes with me. I will explode right over here if you don’t make a quick choice."

"Bao’er you go then." Gu Jin gave up.

"Okay."

Lu Siyao hurriedly walked inside the washroom and entered a cubicle.

Liang Bao stood in the corridor and waited for Lu Siyao to return.

When the door opened, Lu Siyao patted her stomach and said,

"Thank god, the washroom was nearby!"

Liang Bao chuckled.

Lu Siyao washed her hands and said,

"Let me touch up my makeup."

She extended her hand to take out lipstick from her bag when suddenly her hand was held.

"Hm??"

Lu Siyao turned to look at Liang Bao with a confused expression,

"Bao’er?"

Liang Bao’s grip tightened on Lu Siyao’s wrist, her expression shifting from one of concern to something more sinister.

Lu Siyao’s eyes widened in alarm as she struggled to free herself.

"Bao’er, what are you doing?" Lu Siyao’s voice was filled with confusion.

Liang Bao’s grip tightened, and her face contorted in a way that was both terrifying and inhuman.

Suddenly, her features began to shift and twist grotesquely, her skin stretching and tearing apart.

What emerged from within was a horrifying sight: a monstrous, star-shaped mass with rows of sharp teeth.

"Ahhhh!" Lu Siyao’s soul almost left her body.

Lu Siyao’s scream echoed through the washroom as she stumbled backward, her mind reeling from the shock and horror.

"What are you?!" she managed to gasp, her back pressing against the cold tiles as she tried to put distance between herself and the creature that had once been her friend.

The creature, now fully revealed as a parasitic entity, advanced slowly, its eyes fixing on Lu Siyao with a predatory gleam.

"Gr...grr...Zzz...grr..." it made a strange, guttural noise.

Lu Siyao wanted to faint. The sight was horrifying, and to make it even worse, her friend, who now had turned into some kind of monster, was making bizarre noises. "Ba-Bao’er?"

The creature lunged at her, and Lu Siyao instinctively grabbed the nearby dustbin, hurling it at the parasite.

The creature swallowed the dustbin whole, its maw opening impossibly wide to consume it.

Lu Siyao took the opportunity to make a dash for the door.

She was almost there when the parasite, with astonishing speed, lashed out a slimy, skinless hand and wrapped it around her ankle, yanking her back.

She hit the floor hard, pain shooting through her as the creature dragged her away from the door and locked it with a loud click.

Desperation fueled Lu Siyao’s actions. She focused her energy and chanted the incantation for a thunder spell.

"Lightning Bolt!" A crackling bolt of electricity shot from her fingers, striking the parasite.

The creature screamed, its body convulsing as the electricity surged through it. It released its grip on her, writhing in agony.

Seizing the moment, Lu Siyao scrambled to her feet and rushed towards the door again. She was almost there when she heard a wet, slithering sound behind her.

The parasite had recovered quicker than she expected and was hurtling towards her. It wrapped itself around her, its slimy body constricting her movements.

Lu Siyao struggled, watching in horror as the creature’s mouth, filled with rows of sharp teeth, approached her.

.................

In the shop.

Fei Hanzhu was selecting some clothes when suddenly his watch started to make a long ’beep’ sound.

His expression hardened instantly.

He looked at the watch and started to run in the direction where Lu Siyao was.

Fei Hanzhu wanted to curse.

.................

Just when she thought all hope was lost, a cold, commanding voice rang out. "Plant vines."

Suddenly, green vines erupted from the floor, wrapping around the parasite and tearing it away from Lu Siyao.

She fell to the ground, gasping for breath, and looked up to see Gu Jin standing in the doorway, her expression cold.

"Gu Jin!" Lu Siyao cried out.

Gu Jin’s eyes never left the parasite as she advanced into the washroom. "Are you alright, Siyao?"

Lu Siyao nodded, her body trembling. "Yes, but that thing...it’s not Liang Bao anymore!"

Gu Jin’s eyes flashed,

"I know."

"Jin’er don’t be sad...what?"

"I knew something was wrong with Liang Bao." Gu Jin said calmly.
